God I feel sorry for kids today with the garbage they have to listen too. I thank God I was young in the 70s and 80s when bands just ripped it up on stage with the best music ever.
While I was listening to the song, I was twenty years old, and when the song ended, I suddenly remembered that I was already living in my seventh decade.

Another cool thing is the smile that Mark Knopfler flashes at times - can’t help himself cause he’s grooving so hard and he’s in the middle of something magnificent.
When music had originality, character, skill, uniqueness and talent, I miss those times.
The rhythm guitarist is the human manifestation of the 80s.
Not only one of the greatsst songs ever, but one of the most exciting, anticipation-building intros of all time! It’s such a looooooong, expertly crafted build, with the intermittent drum fills slowly coming to life like this huge, magnificent machine is about to awaken after lying asleep for 1,000 years… and then Mark’s half-cocked wah riff with its glorious harmonics. OMG we have finally arrived at the gates of heaven, and guess what? It’s all about microwaves and fridges over there 😂
Imagine creating this awesome riff plus sultans of swing , tunnel of love brothers in arms, walk of life...romeo and Juliet...the list goes on....genius
This is what a real live show is supposed to be. Not even caring to play it like on the record, just like jamming out and having fun. At least thats what this seemed like to me.
