I have been growing and eating my own sprouts since the early 70's and have never had any kind of problem. I do soak in filtered water and always have.
Fresh seeds that are stored properly can last up to 4 years. This is covered in the video. I store my seeds in a glass jar, which I store in a dark cool cupboard. Once you sprout and rinse your sprouts they will keep in the fridge for up to 4 days. Only sprout what your family will consume in 3-4 days.
Way to go, Michael. Nothing could be simpler and thanks for the tip using filtered water. I understand why they took the sprouts off the market in grocery stores though, and the warmings from FDA ---it's not easy to control every step and temperature of the growing and distribution process. Growing you own is fun too.
I was going to buy supplements. Then I asked myself, why not try alfalfa sprouts instead. I know that there's no better way to get your vitamins than your food. Glad to hear that it works. Tks 🙂☮
@@AJ-jf2ui I sprout lentils, mung bean, chickpea, and alfalfa. I usually make a quick salad with all four, with whatever fruit I have on hand (my faves are mango, kiwi, or strawberry). I'll use a store-bought raspberry vinaigrette. Provides a lot of energy this way!
What a crock! Anti- government much? Anti-safety regulations much? Vote Republican and you too can have dirty water and air! No biggy to grow your own by the way -- nothing could be simpler.
Cindy Gray ....do you think fish know they’re wet? Leftist...No concept...just they are warm and cozy in their Government made up environment of propaganda by mockingbird media and feel good emotions.
Can someone please help me, as a prepper I have seeds of various types so that in the future I can sow and harvest them for eating but also for acquiring more seeds for future seasons - how can that be done with sprouts or can it?
If alfalfa sprouts are high in phytoestrogens, does that mean they are not recommended for men?? Phytoestrogens found in walnuts and almonds I've heard are not good for men's testosterone levels.
Are you 100% sure of that?? What do you mean by "real estrogen"?? Phytoestrogen isn't "real" estrogen?? That's news to me. Where did you get your training in biochemistry from??
GlobalTubeTruth phytoestrogen is definitely not real estrogen. It's structure is similar but not the exact same. And there are many types of phytoestrogens, but the type found in soy is relatively weak.
Just came across a study titled 'Daily intake of alfalfa sprouts, but not broccoli sprouts, influence plasma levels of androgen in middle-aged males' which indicates 50gms of alfalfa a day is perfect for men looking to increase androgen levels.

The amount of energy I get from alfalfa sprouts every day, is crazy...

I get the seeds and grow my own- saves a ton of money and you’ll know there is no e-coli or other harmful chemicals
I like it so much, good 👍 job
Always do the exact opposite of what the FDA recommends, then you will be healthy.

GlobalTubeTruth they are like 1000 times weaker than actual estrogen. You'd have to eat like more than humanly possible to affect your hormones

I disagree. Especially about soy. Alfalfa is one thing, soy is another.

cooking at extremely high temperatures will denature proteins
Definitely, and personally we would NEVER cook sprouts unless they were beans...
Am I the only kid here? I love alfalfa sprouts but are raw ones suppose to be crunchy or soft? Please answer Im kinda worried.
Crunchy!
Even if soft, no need to worry. That's just the result of excess moisture. Just as long as they aren't discolored and slimy, you should be fine
