I had a friend in tool and die and he would take video and notes the first time he tore something down. One interesting thing he mentioned was to always put a bolt (if undamaged) back in the same hole it came out of even if you have an identical bolt. Because things wear differently over time. It's a subtle thing, but it can prevent a leak in a high pressure application.

Good call on the injector bore cleaning and replacing copper seal rings. On Mercedes, they will get a lot of blow by unless the bore is cleaned and crush washer replaced.

Honestly, a light diesel engine is not far removed from its petrol counterpart, has pretty much all the same parts, just that it has far more compression.

Dont need to replace the valve cover unless its cracked. Leak can be fixed by jjst replacing the gaskets if its not cracked
Great job ! But I’m shocked from bmw ! It toke all these parts to be removed in order for a human to replace just a valve cover 😱
