SONY WALKMAN yellow sport + Prodigy audio cassette collection. Left over from my youth, now on the shelf as a rarity. I'm sure you have something similar too))
There is nothing more convenient than a round connector that also rotates when plugged in. If it had not been supplanted by wireless technologies, it would have been relevant for another 100 years.
Wow, you've gone through a lot of audio equipment, you definitely have plenty of experience-no need to be modest! 😉 I’ve got a very beat-up retro cassette player coming up for restoration in one of my next videos )
I agree. Of course, the radio components could have been replaced. Although I wouldn't really want to replace the blue authentic Rubycon with Chinese capacitors.
Ничего себе😮😮😮никогда не думал что такие кассетные плееры были в 1985году .Я родился в СССР в 1987 и первый раз плеер увидел только в 1995 или 1996 году😂😂😂
I think it wasn't constantly wet, it was just once poured with something "foamy" through the top, where the buttons are. The rust is not deep. If it had been constantly wet, the corrosion would have eaten away the tracks on the board.
This is a really nice personal stereo, it was in such a state, almost a write off. It's good to see it back in an as new working condition. Awesome restoration!
A fantastic restoration. Now i first through it was from sony but as i was looking closer it turned out to be from sanyo🤣 Also i first throught that yellowish white was it’s original color. And since it dates back to 1985 i throught that color fits pretty well because of it’s age. Especially since i will see the color yellowish white in front of me once i will think about the year 1985🤣
I'll be honest, it was a revelation to me that there was something like that at that time. I looked into it and found "AM/FM STEREO TUNER PACK". It's awesome.
Watching at 1.75 speed makes it look normal. And then towards the end some steps were skipped over?? Good to see this item as I definitely remember/had one or two of these.
I found a sanyo mgp500 while clearing out a deceased family members house, the batteries must have been left in it for 20 years + my mother in law was going to chuck it in the bin but i saved it, cleaned the corrosion out and i had to solder the connection plus a new drive belt and it works like new, turns out its a pretty rare model in pretty rare colours.
I agree, these things need to be preserved, as their era of rarity is approaching. For example, cassette players like yours or mine are becoming so rare that it’s hard to find even one or two for sale on eBay
Nice restoration. Good to see something unusual being restored. There's various talented restorers here on the internet but there's only so much excitement I can raise over yet another meat cleaver or monkey wrench.
i watch and have me stuff repaired by mend it mark and he does a above and beyond job but what i saw in this video just amazed me on what you did to bring this bit of 80's greatness. well done i can see you channel going on leaps and bounds esp on how you make the video . keep it up oh and subscribed also
Yep, I had one similar to this one when I was younger. Still have it with some tapes somewhere in my room! I wonder if you ever completed a complex restoration, assembled everything back and, finally, when you did the last test... you realize there's something else to fix. 😀
sir your vedio is very beautyful and mavalose your doing very difficul thing for this im also like to do like this rapair but a l hava no tools like this
bak ağlayasım geldi şimdi 😭 bende bunun aynısının mavisi vardı . 1987 , 88 ,89,90 yıllarında sanyo walkman en iyi arkadaşımdı daha sonrasında amerikadan bi akrabamız bana ; amerikan markası kamuflaj desenli bir walkman hediye etmişti . 1996 da liseye geçtiğim yıllarda sony walkman ve sony discmanım olmuştu hey gidi günler ..... yaşlandık :(
Excellent restoration but some details were missing: fine grease for mechanisms was missing, the electric motor was not checked internally and the magnetic tape reader has a precise adjustment It still looked like new
Friend, I didn't show a lot of things in the video, it seemed to me that there would be too many little things. I did lubricate the parts. The motor rotates perfectly, I also washed and lubricated it without disassembling. I also washed the equalizer potentiometers with alcohol. I didn't tune the magnetic head through the hole, since this player is exclusively for the shelf. And yes, the magnetic head is like new, it is ferrite, an anti-corrosion alloy.
SONY WALKMAN yellow sport + Prodigy audio cassette collection. Left over from my youth, now on the shelf as a rarity. I'm sure you have something similar too))
It is unbelievable that the 3.5 mm jack has survived for many decades and still being used today
There is nothing more convenient than a round connector that also rotates when plugged in. If it had not been supplanted by wireless technologies, it would have been relevant for another 100 years.
That's a first class of work. Thank you very much
Thank for watching )
The amount of work you put into restoration is inspirational! Here i am just replacing belts and calling it a day 😅
I can easily say that restoring a cassette player is very, very difficult. Very few people can do it. I respect your effort. I wish you success.
Yes, it's a real puzzle)
Amazing, I had these kind of players in the 80's, I had no idea a basic personal stereo was so complex inside!
A real, interesting, puzzle)
Отличная работа, прекрасный результат. Кассетная техника не умрёт никогда, думаю, она снова войдёт в моду и будет востребована.
Thank you. It’s already making a comeback, my friend. Better start buying now, soon it’ll be just like retro consoles 😉
@@Repair3R Я их ремонтирую и имею довольно много аппаратов. По качеству работы мне до вашего уровня далеко.

I enjoyed watching this, great work.
I wish that tape towards the end should keep playing for all eternity. 😊❤
Great and meticulous work
舊變新,賞心悅目。😘
Perfect.. Best one among the restorations I’ve seen 👏🏼👌🏽👌🏽

É impressionante a qualidade da sua restauração. Feito para durar mais 40 anos com toda a certeza. Parabéns pelo trabalho.
Thanks. It's just a pity that it won't work, but will proudly flaunt itself on the shelf )
Eu tive um desse ,nossa me deu saudades agora, parabéns pelo trabalho, ficou perfeito.
Thanks friend, yes the cassette technology was interesting, somehow soulful, I sometimes miss it myself.
Amazing work. You have fantastic skills!
Thanks friend )
Very nice refurbishing effort. It looks new and seems to work as well... Thumbs Up!
Thanks )
Top Demais Gostei Muito Gravador de Fita
Did I ever have a cassette player? Yes. Since 1971 when I was a kid.. Used for voice recordings, mostly. Then music later when I got a stereo deck.
You were lucky to have a player with a recording function back then. I always dreamed that my Walkman would record voice.
Kind of ART! Bravo !!!
Wow, you really did that right and didn't cut a single corner. Nice job.
Thanks )
Awesome! Lucky the electronics was not damaged. The capacitors, resistors and IC.
I agree. Of course, the radio components could have been replaced. Although I wouldn't really want to replace the blue authentic Rubycon with Chinese capacitors.

You and I are almost the same age and were born in the same place. Yeah, the Soviet Union developed in its own way ))
Sanyo, Aiwa, JVC, Sony…..I grew up using these glorious gadgets.
A few more of those that were available to the people) Akai, Sharp, Toshiba
как не странно детали плеера в хорошем состоянии отмыть от ржавчины пасики поменять и готово люблю такие видосы Спасибо!
I think it wasn't constantly wet, it was just once poured with something "foamy" through the top, where the buttons are. The rust is not deep. If it had been constantly wet, the corrosion would have eaten away the tracks on the board.
Очень красиво получилось. Жаль не было плеера в детстве - родителям было не по карману в 90-х
Thanks friend. I only had a Walkman because my dad bought it for himself. I had to beg and prove for a long time that I wouldn't break it.
Never thought a casette player could be so internally complex
A real puzzle
Amazing work Dude,i love the restoring and the video cut! more please!
I would like to release more videos, but I can't do it any faster yet.
You're a Maestro 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Thank you! Bows 🎩

Fantastically fine work! I do a little repairing of players and cassette decks myself, but this level can already claim to be "professional".

I had that walkman it has a seperate casette like device which you put inside and then walkman became a radio. My father had brought it from Japan
I'll be honest, it was a revelation to me that there was something like that at that time. I looked into it and found "AM/FM STEREO TUNER PACK". It's awesome.
I had this model in 1985, in black. 😍
I really like its shape, strict, authentic, aesthetic pleasure )

Watching at 1.75 speed makes it look normal. And then towards the end some steps were skipped over?? Good to see this item as I definitely remember/had one or two of these.
I watch restorations myself at speed 2. In fact, a lot was skipped so as not to overload the perception.
Buena restauración amigo... Saludos desde Chile, sigue así...

Amazing work.❤❤❤ . I also have this 90's Snyo Cassette player but it is not working.I took it to a shop but he says it is not repairable.
Thanks. Everything can be fixed, it all depends on the desire and availability of funds)
Брависсимо ❤❤❤❤❤ фантастика ❤❤❤
I have a similar device by the name of Akai, with a clip also. It still plays vwry good!!!
It's good that your walkman survived, usually they disappear into thin air )
Can't forget about the classic 80s snare with the reverb and the way people dressed I think it was retro style
I can't say the same about the 80s, but I can definitely say it about the 90s. I have the same feelings about that time
