I'm from L.A. but my grandmother moved to stockton in 87 she lived by the fairgrounds right off of B St. I believe.... R.I.P to my granny I have many great memories of stockton
Grew up a stocktonian as we came from New Mexico in 1957 Jackson School, Hamilton, graduated from Edison lived on Southside of town off of Charter Way and Grant Street played at Liberty Park Mormon Slough ran up and down it with my friends safe back then, would walk to county fair going under the pass on Charter Way went to church at St. Mary's fishing with my friends at Weber St. When grain silos were there downtown was great Newberrys Woolworth Fox Theater and many more stores how different it is now
I remember you at the junior high stage because my sister Pat went to school with you. You have done a good job of helping us remember that time in Stockton. We lived around the block. You lived kitty corner from Susan Berry, and down the block from Yvette one way and Carol (John) Wolters the other way. One of my sisters lives in our old family home there. Thank you for sharing your memories and music. Very very nice. Norma
My dad was in the Navy and we lived all over the country. Boston, Norfolk, San Diego, Bremerton, Taiwan......But Stockton was our hometown and when my dad was out to sea for over a year at a time we stayed with my grandparents until we bought a house in Lincoln Village. Segarini's market was on the corner of Ben Holt Drive and Pacific Avenue. Now Podesto's. Whenever we go to Stockton we go in there just for old time's sake.
in the early 60's I went to El Dorado Elementary, would walk home past the market and when I had money go inside to buy candy, I remember the entrance on parking lot w shopping carts & soda machines, Nice video of by gone days.
