I have been dating a very lovely Cameroonian man for about 3 years now, and I've been cooking your recipes for him every since I met him. I served this fufu but made from yams with your Eru recipe, and he was so happy and proud his American woman made him this Cameroonian meal. Thank you, thank you, thank you ♥️
I went to South Africa and I have to say this was one of the best dishes for Vegetarians, I thoroughly enjoyed their dishes that were catered for special diets like mine. I can't wait to cook it at home :-)
I hated cooking, then I met you.😂😂 now I can't help but eat my food . Thanks so much. God bless you! Come this weekend, fufuuuu corn. Yuppiii
Awww so glad to help!
In Zambia we use corn meal or mealie meal and call it nshima in general. It has many names in diffferent languages. The only difference is with the meal we add that cold water and meal mixture to the boiling water and make a porridge that can boil 15 to 30 minutes or more, depending on the heat and quantity, and then add the dry meal according to how thick we want it. We then let simmer for about 5 to 10 minutes.
When we were kids, I remember my mom would make collards and we would eat it with cornbread mashed into it with our fingers much like how we ate fufu in Africa. Need some pepper soup now.
We call this ugali in East Africa. Really enjoying these West African dishes.
yes yes yes, but its not as sticky
In Barbados we call it cou cou it is made with cornmeal. Okra is finely cut and cooked in the cornmeal and it is served with steamed fish or any other stew...or as you say soup.
Thank you for making cooking soooooo easy.
I tried your corn fufu recipe and for the first time it came out sooooo well...no lumps....not even one lump. I am soo excited. Thank you again. I ate mine with Bekang(sweet bitter leaves) 😋😋😋😋
Thank you for making my day with this!
I am from Barbados and stirring this fufu reminds me of stirring our national dish Cou Cou
I love you!! So glad I found this channel. Btw your English is perfect :)
Joclarke876 awww thank you. Love you too!

My favorite Precious. With jamajama hummmmm welcome to paradise!!!
Dana TCHUISSEU welcome to paradise for real! One of my favorites too!
Every time I watch you cook, I'm reminded that Cameroun and Nigeria are literally the same country. Borders be damned. Our cultures tell a different story from what borders and immigration laws would have one believe. I was thinking to myself that this would go so well with some hot okro soup and you literally said it as I was thinking it. Well done.
😍😍😍😍
I love your channel. God bless you
Thanks. God bless you too.

THANK YOU for this video! I love fufu corn and it's the only fufu I'll eat(unless I'm at someone's house of course. And I cant stand garri--maybe I'll eat it one day lol). I want to surprise my mom :)
Thanks for this recipe. My carer introduced me to fufu some years ago, and I had a taste for it last week 😋. So I got my self together, and "made" some, but it wasn't quite right🤔🤔 now I see why it wasn't right- I forget the base!!!! Thanks so much! I am subscribing to you channel!! Thanks again 🙋🏾♀️🙌🏿😋😋🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
I remember friends from Nigeria also used Bisquick baking mix sometimes.
love those measuring cups
Cool recipe! We Togolese call this "Akoumé" 😁😁😁
Iman Love awww that's good to know.
It reminds me of a corn risotto almost! But then again here in America “froufrou“ might mean something else, that you are cooking with very little but making a big deal says it all not to be mean at all I do enjoy this and I am going to try for sure! I just mean that Fufu all that fufu over grits… I am definitely going to try this and use as a base for some kind of stirfry veggies or meat it reminded me of mashed potatoes at first and then grits. If it is from West Africa I know it is good because okra :-) thanks for the videos, cheers!
We call it Ugali or Sima in kenya, but we use maize flour and its the best meal ever
Celina Rehema that's right!
Maize means Corn :)
Rehema maize and corn ni kitu moja
@@housewifehomestead Ugali is the poridge... the grain is Corn aka Maize aka Harina (Fresh ground corn)
@@Lobo-Lobo ugali is thicker in consistency than porridge. Porridge is what we call uji.
Well done my dear❤️ I love what you are doing.
I'm salivating ooo, good job dearie. Please do you have a video for fish/beef pepper soup?
I have a video for fish pepper soup. You can see it here: ua-cam.com/video/5P-rsKwT95A/v-deo.html
We call this turn cornmeal in Jamaica 🇯🇲 Trelawny Albert Town.
I usually start the cornmeal in cold water on the stove and slowly stirring the meal in the water until a dough is formed. I would have the kettle with hot water and add water to get the consistency then put cover on and just let the meal continue steaming Onslow fire.this prevent burning just tip the bottom of pot with water.
I dont know why you are putting so much effort into turning with your wrist. Just leave to steam tipping water and turn once and cover , THE PROCESS IS STEAMING.
SOME JAMAICAN'S PUT IN HOT WATER BUT I FIND IT JUST SPLATTER AND BURN YOU UP.
GREAT VIDEO BUT TOO MUCH WORK
I LOVE TURN CORNMEAL.
SOMETIMES I PUT CHOPPED ONIONS AND GARLIC WITH A LITTLE BUTTER AND CARMEALIZED THAT AND ADD TO THE MEAL. SUPPER IS SERVER.
I LOVE THIS
It is very close to cooking corn coo coo in the Caribbean ❤

Rose Line you are definitely special to me, dear. You're most welcome!
Tomtom !! This is how we call it where I am from!!! Hmmmm😊
She makes the pretties fufu I ever seen.
Hello Precious thanks for the recipe❤️ Is it fermented corn flour or regular corn flour?
Regular corn flour.
I'm from South Africa and we call it papa or pap
Na .. this is waaay different from pap.
I live in norway but my mom is from Mozambique and me and her eat fufu a lot. In Mozambique its called Xima or massa and me and my mom eat it with chicken with coconut sauce or matapa from mozambique
I even got my Norwegian friends to try fufu and they loved it and they are very picky with their food but they loved fufu
I always mixed it with dry cassava powder
Elizabeth Toujlah interesting!
It call TUO in western part of nigeria
Good to know, Temi!
We call it Tuo Zaafe aka TZed in Ghana. The dish originates from Northern Ghana.
We call it kabato in Ivory Coast
Staple food in Kenya we call it ugali
I use thick grits
What brand of corn flour do you use? I used GOYA brand and it was a disaster... Also, Will this be the same steps for plantain and cassava flour?
Rose Line the brand I use is nameless. It just says, "Corn Flour". I got it from the African aisle in an Asian store. Some brands of corn meal will work well.
It's not the same procedure for cassava and plantain fufu. For cassava and plantain fufu, you do not need to make the base. Just mix the flour with hot/boiling water and mix well to avoid lumps. Hope this helps, dear. ❤
Precious Kitchen thank you, I am making it tomorrow for my dad. THANK YOU !! 💚❤️💛
Precious Kitchen using an egg whisker at the start will help to ensure it doesn't form any lumps.
Quick question Prescious: Does the cold "kende" ( the base) not make the fufu sticky to the palm and taste cold ( not like cold but for pidgin na cold water fufu) a kind of bad texture?
I'll eat it with anything as long as it's not slimey. lol
Thank you sis
Hello Precious how did u start your UA-cam chanel. congratulation on ur achievements
Hi, I basically just started shooting videos in my kitchen with a cell phone camera which was what we had at the time. Is there any other thing you would love to know? Thanks for your kind words.
We call it kabato in Ivory Coast

Sorry but I think the corn fufu is too hard.u needed to had added some water.remember when it cold it's gonna be harder which it shouldn't be the case
