My thoughts are we are headed back to D2, year one and by Halloween the game is dead again... My guess is most of the Destiny 2 population will not be able to complete a raid based on all of the reductions. Riven is the only boss we can one phase, and that never a given. I think we are a typical group... We will see..
I wasn't taking the whole, "Bungie puts way more effort into Eververse armor" thing seriously until I saw the Empyrean Cartographer set. I don't think they've put that much effort in an armor set since Destiny 1 year 3!
I'll explain it to you, in the end of D1 Streamers/UA-camrs were sick of supers and ability spam so they complained and the sheep that flock to them agreed. So Bungie released D2 with weak supers less ability use and a true primary gunskill focus. Unfortunately the Streamers/UA-cams got bored and tired of being out played and shut down by the "Team shot meta" so they complained... Again. So Bungie did everything the Stremers/UA-camrs wanted and now we are where we are. In a fluster Cuck of over powered pinnacle weapons, broken supers, high aim/target assist mods and super mods. All because some people can't just make up their minds. Do they want op broken power fantasy or primary gunskill? Hope this helps explain why Destiny 2 is where it is. And before any hero or content creator freaks out on this answer... Go back and LISTEN to YOURSELF or ANY Streamers/UA-camrs at the end of D1 and there reaction after 3 months of D2. All I've done is state pure honest facts, no more no less. I don't recall Bungie flying average Jane/Joe in for any Special content summit. No it was the Streamers/UA-camrs not the average 80% casual players who are the majority. No hate here just I feel no X player or X%'s opinion should matter more or less. Destiny is a Community game... What does the community want should be Bungie's prime concern. To quote a wise person "The needs of the many must out weigh the needs of a few.". Hope no one feels hurt or offended by this, if so... It was not my intentions and I do apologize and hope to hear you take on the situation. Have a great day to all.
USEDLIFE and bungie is trying to work towards this. With an ever expanding community and constant opinion swings from just humans in general. They try their best to work with what would be a liking. Year 1 supers were too weak and so they got buffed. Now they are too strong. They want to try to combine the skill factor with the idea of a power fantasy. The fact that you are temporarily powerful while in a super is what makes a super well, a super. But they also wanted to make a defense out of that so people weren’t spamming supers through mods and should you have the skill to take out that bottom tree striker, then you would be able to do so. It gets even more complicated when you add in the new exotics but they can’t not add new ones otherwise people complain of old material, plus the level creativity and design to create such exotics. (part of the reason they started bringing old ones back is because the human mind can only think of so much before repeating itself. They wanted to bring back nostalgia while also bringing something new to the table. Outbreak Perfected and black spindle aka whisper, are very good examples of this.) Bungie has developed a lot of attention towards the community and they take every persons comment into consideration and figure out how to work with it. It’s not COO where they were testing stuff, they want to make sure that the community is happy and everything is well. And they are doing their damn best.
All very valid and good points you make. I don't doubt or blame Bungie, they are a talented group of developers. Heck I don't blame the Stremers/UA-camrs, they also are very talented each in there own way. Balancing a game is a very tricky thing but not impossible. It all depends on who the game is targeting the casual 80% the hard core 15% or the Elite 5%? Unfortunately you can't please everyone but a middle ground could be found. Saigonfighter wanted answers, I provided a few. I admire and appreciate your passion for both Bungie and Destiny. Thank you for your thoughts and perspective.
@@usedlife3793 I just wanted to comment on both of your guys response and it's really nice to read comments that are not mean , condescending , or hateful it's a sight for sore eyes
Nothing good ever comes out of hate or arguing. Exchanging words, ideas and opinions are the only way to find a common ground for everyone to stand on. I'm glad we could all share our thoughts, and thank you for yours.
Derek LaSota but still, they stack, so it won’t work, bungie is completely changing the system, because they don’t want “crutches”, which is why the removed weapons of light in the first place, it’s fucking stupid if you ask me, if they actually made boss fights that weren’t just a damage check then they wouldn’t have to worry about things like weapons or well. Instead make raids about skill and coordination, same thing with strikes. But still most rebuffs are already overridden by stronger debuffs already, such as shadowshot, but now debuffs and buffs are being lumped together so only the strongest buffs can survive
Cory Lyons Music well people don’t like saying you pay for exotics by purchasing a season, the. You’re paying for content but they are removing activities at the end of the season, the. You’re paying for armor and if it’s reskined something you already own then...to most that would be an issue
AOxSpades xTOB I can’t believe people know these old sets and remember them to even tell. I play this game a lot and if people didn’t complain I would never know. I think a lot of people wouldn’t.
@Adam Des I'm not saying Bungie should overwork its staff. What I am saying is, if players are paying money for content, it shouldn't be reskins. How come Eververse sets are *always* new and unique, but other sets aren't? Yeah the raid set has glow ornaments, but it's based on a reskin. The premier set is new and unique, and while it can be grinded for free, it's also up for grabs via direct purchasing. This is the problem. The game is getting more and more monetized, which is rather annoying. I know Bungie needs a source of income now that Activi$ion isn't paying them, but good loot shouldn't be behind a paywall. And if the art team is having trouble with creativity (which seems to be a big case outside Eververse shit), maybe they should hire new artists or take a short break for new ideas to flow it? Maybe they can take fan ideas and build off of those, like how Digital Extremes does with Warframe. No one bitches at them for hiring freelance artists to make good character and weapon skins. It also keeps a revenue cuz players like buying good looking skins, and you can only get them with real money.
The Phenotype armor should have been the raid armor, it looks sick!!! wtf Bungie? And im sure nobody would have minded the "reskin one" to be on Eververse.
@@xhunter628x the Vex one? No the purple one in which we literally only saw today yet people were still crying eververse despite it not being mentioned? Yes.
@@Johnnyboycurtis that's exactly what they wanted players like you to think that's why they released it all at once. To distract you from the fact that the best armor set is for purchase while the PINNACLE ACTIVITY of the game (raids) armor set is a reskin. Sucks to see things like your comment being said.
It's funny going back to D1 after playing D2 for so long and realizing how unforgiving it is in comparison. Can't just 1 phase raid bosses with a thought, and strikes actually take some effort. I really hope these changes bring D2 closer to D1. I'm not holding my breath for PvP though.
@Shirley Timple I hope they make raids hard enough to where maybe some people actually learn to play. Been 2 years and people can't do mechanics or even shoot straight.
@Shirley Timple I am talking about most of the power fantasy people who can't beat Riven without cheesing. I personally hope everything gets nerfed, and they make raids much harder than they ever have. We need real challenge brought back to gaming. Currently there is 0 challenge in most games outside of top level competitive PvP. It's sad. Even doing the mechanics are too easy in D2.
@@Zerosixious nerfing everything is a false form of difficulty, sorry buddy Datto is a dumb ass in his power creep view points the only thing he has right is the auto reload but it doesn't take him to say something for us to know that, removing that automatically increases the difficulty, nerfing lock and then buffing titans with the same power locks have was just a result of the mouth pleasure he gave Mr.Smith to make his favorite class relevant again, and goes in line with his months of him crying about it like a little baby.
I'm a Warlock player. My problem with this is that it seems like the Titan is surpassing the Warlock at the support class. Titans now have the best protection (Ward), AND the best damage buff (Weapons of Light), AND the best de-buff (Melting Point). And in PvP, they can sprint all over the place and one-hit kill you with an intrinsic ability (shoulder charge). It seems to me like Bungie has problems managing the relative position of the Warlock. They want it to be the support class and the Titan to be a tank. When in practice the Titan is the support class, and Warlock is a weak PvP class but a PvE tank that keeps crushing their PvE designs. At this pace they may as well bring back Self-Res. They took away Self-Res to stop the Warlock from breaking their PvE designs, i.e., solo-ing Crota (every class could solo Crota), solo-ing Oryx, solo-Aksis, even solo-ing Atheon in his initial release. But apparently Well of Radiance is breaking it worse. I say we are better off have a few awesome players solo a raid boss for a highlight reel than we are having almost every raid team one phase the boss every time they see him.
Warlocks will still be viable after their nerfs. I dont see a problem as the titans role in endgame since sept. 2018 has been relegated to a single melee ability on an otherwise underwhelming subclass tree.
Darrius Cole it’s stupid to have one class dominate pvp and pve, it’s completely unbalanced, where destiny is at right now, you place a well, have a titan shoulder charge the boss, and a hunter uses golden gun for over 1m damage, all of those roles play a huge part, everyone has a part to play here and now it’s going to be an AFK titan standing there buffing us while we maybe have a warlock heal. But then again who even needs that heal when the titan is blocking all the damage. Titans always end up getting all the spotlight
TBH the super energy nerfs will crush bottom tree dawnblade, that subclass has zero perks outside the super. Meanwhile, bottom tree striker still has perks that help a lot outside of super. And OEM. Naturally. Don't get me wrong, bottom Dawnblade will still be terrifying, but it won't happen nearly as much unless the new gear gives us many more tools to get super energy.
@@warv6552 You have to have the super in the first place to take advantage of that. My point was that the subclass doesn't do anything until you get the super, and the nerfs to super generation will exacerbate that problem.
Totally agree. It only has 2 other perks that aren't about the super. The melee causes burn and if someone is killed by it they explode (pretty much completely useless in both pve and pvp), and Phoenix dive, which, now doesnt do anything, and it's not worth taking the time to activate it. It doesnt give pretty much any health. So the super is the only reason to ever use the subclass.
A tip for hunter players, use way of a thousand cuts (solar middle tree) with sealed ahmekara’s (don’t know how to spell it lol) grasps. The fire tick damage from the throwing knives actually reload your weapon on each tick so is good for doing more boss damage.
Calling it now; Lunafaction well will still be absolute meta in raids, only the addition to Ward of Dawn for the extra 10% buff that it has on Well Grenade launchers will still be top tier DPS - people will look out for Auto loading holster more than Spike nades, both will be preferred Snipers will start to shine again
@@thijsoostenbrink268 Okay...I never said they did? Well damage buff; 25% Weapons of Light damage buff; 35% I literally said Weapons would be used alongside with well because it has that extra 10% damage on Well
@@thijsoostenbrink268 Of course there's a point lol? Ward only gives you overshield when using Saint 14 helm Edit: Outside of the bubble anyway, I know Bubble natturally gives you Armour of Light INSIDE it Also constant healing + overshield AND increased reload speeds is still better than just an overshield. So Luna Well (For the Heals and Increased reload) + Ward of Dawn(For the 35% damage buff) is going to be used together
@@corylyonsmusic exactly it looks dope as fuck, we are getting a ton of new armor sets and everything old in 2.0 AND we just got cross save. people just love to bitch
@@drewjackson6403 ??? no people are right. that armor is a reskin of the ever verse armour we got near the beginning of the games life, the armor thats in the battlepass needs to be swapped out with the armor in the raid because that battle pass armor SCREAMS Raid worthy and prestigious. the current raid armor looks ugly.
Spade-2 you might be right.. haven’t had the opportunity yo use it myself as I just came back to destiny after a long break. I do hope the WotW does at least see use again. Though if I do remember correctly, Whisper still is reining king among snipers for overall damage output, just not burst potential.
Super Soldier I disagree, I don’t care that the raid armor is a reskin, the hunter armor still looks great and I’m definitely using that cloak as soon as I get it
It’s just the ability to adapt honestly, I wouldn’t have a problem with these auto reload abilities if bungie never got rid of the complex super branch in D1, because if you run well you should be able to chose protection,Damage, or auto reload or something like that. Another solution people thought bungie could do was just reduce the time on well, that wouldn’t work because you can just have someone with an empowering rift and Luna sit back and just pop it when the well ends and create a poor mans well
L4Disillusion i was about to say i never 1 hit anyone with it. And playing my titan today i literally got smacked by one and still had health enough to kill the hunter who shot me
Hawk_ish good that’s the point this game is too easy d1 was hard as fuck now bubble will be very useful with weapon of light but they should’ve nerf grenade launchers cuz they are boring to use
No they will still be shit enemies that just shoot at you and stomp with no form of difficulty. They will just take longer to kill. If bungie weren't complete morons they would just give bosses more health instead of making more work for themselves and having to go edit all of these damage values. They've already put bosses in the game that have damage phases to stop them from getting melted. The problem isn't we do too much damage the problem is they are lazy developers that wouldn't think twice about actually giving an enemy a mechanic outside of a raid. Even the most recent final raid encounter can be done in one phase but you actually have to stop dps to shoot hands and go through actual mechanics to get to the dps part in general. That is actual difficulty, not alot of hp.
yeah this really baffles me. They said they were looking into bottom striker several months ago. Guess they forgot about it. Like even after everything was nerfed it still has the highest dmg res out of all supers.
titus shaver nah it’s impossible to kill bottom tree unless you got some stupid ass weapons, on top of that they get health / over shield on kills so no they don’t need to be tanky lol
Man that battle pass amor is so shiny. I will say though the raid armor doesn't look as bad as I was expecting. As a hunter I hated the CoO armor and the remodel of it looks way better so at the very least it looks cool even if it's a reskin.
Stuff no, it’s not good. It’s low tier for damage resistance meaning its one of the weakest supers In the game. It adds insult to injury because even if you use the super successfully you’re instantly put in the middle of danger. To top it all off if you get killed in the middle of the supers animation your super is gone, doesn’t matter if you literally just took off the ground once you die it’s gone. Meanwhile with top and bottom tree striker your super will always be saved as long as you don’t land that first initial fist of havoc. As a result the two roaming versions of striker have more health, longer duration and insurance for when you die mid super animation. The only benefit thunder crash has is being able to get melee kills with ballistic slam to recharge your super faster, but that’s also near useless in PVE as it doesn’t OHK so it’s much harder to utilize than shoulder charge and even a regular melee. Thundercrash is a high risk low reward no insurance having subclass. The only real reason Titans have to use it is because it’s the only shutdown super we have, meanwhile you can just use sentinel and throw a suppressor grenade.
I wonder if 1-2 punch with liar's handshake will be affected by the new changes. Technically, they are 3 perks from different category. Combination blow is from the subclass, cross-counter from the armour exotic, and 1-2 punch from the weapon.
Ouch! Both the phenotype and Empyrean sets are clearly better and more desirable then the standard Raid armor. Also wtf ever happend to Heroic Raids and the Heroic gear associated with them? Sidenote: Man do I miss my D1 Factions. Tower feels kinda empty without them.
Yo in the phenotype plasticity universal ornament hunter set he has a damn prosthetic foot, which is way cooler than any of the other armour sets that's were shown off
A player who used to grind d1 for raid armor sets because of aesthetics, d2 has been, frankly insulting in terms of the raid armor aesthetics. All the raid armor just looks bland and I havent ran a full raid more than once since the leviathan.
Anyone else remember Bungie saying that they were done nerfing everything, and were going to buff everything else up to match? Yeah, how's that working out?
Honestly I feel Bungie has been notoriously “lazy” when it comes to balancing the game. We get balance updates few and far between that changes everything. Like if they wanted to nerf supers, buffs, and debuts they needed to do that incrementally rather than all at once. What about the older content they tailored around well and lunafaction boots? Having higher light level just means we take normal damage from enemies so would;don’t we be struggle bussing those content? Year 1 Destiny 2 was they worse year for Destiny and anytime they bring us back to that has me woried
Bungie basically screwed themselves by leaving the 1 phase Raid meta alone for as long as they have, now people expect to 1 phase by default so changing mechanics or nerfing tools that allow 1 phasing will only make players complain that raids are too hard or too boring and then Bungie will just make them 1 phase friendly again to make the content accessible for more players. The days of raids taking practice, coordination, teamwork and effort are gone.
Bubble Titan vs Hammer Striking...? We've been bots for the longest damn time. At least I don't have to run up to a damn thing and risk death to actually be useful.
Thank you. Finally someone else who realises how pathetic it is to be a titan at this point. Outside of crucible we have to basically kill ourselves to benefit the team. This is why it always hurts to see hunters complaining about their nerfs whilst I'm sat in the corner waiting for my recovery to kick in after making their supers even more powerful
@@elementalthepiratepilot6604 It's been my stance since they revealed WoL was back for bubble. It sucks, but at this point? I'd like to feel like I'm helping rather than hurting the team for just being there.
It's either Bungie doesn't know how to tweak a game to make all characters useful in some capacity, or most the devs that work there love playing hunter so much that it has been consistently good for as long as I can remember. I've been a titan main since beginning of D1, and it's been tough. At least I've been able to enact my revenge in crucible for the most part (not ashamed to admit I've bottom-tree striker/OEM'd many guardians), but even that will be nerfed into dust eventually and I prefer PvE. Oh well. Bubble titan it is. 🔮
I generally dislike how half the Titan class is all about melee combat. Mixed with a fair portion of exotics being about melee, the Titan class overall feels very one dimensional, both in PvP and PvE. In Raids or general hard PvE content, the last thing you want to do is get up close on the enemies. Same for the crucible. When more than half the lobby runs around with a Shotgun and a Recluse, you really, really are recommendet to NOT try to go for that Punch, yet alone consider a build. People complain about One Eyed Mask so much and it should definitly be adjusted, people seem to conveniently forget that there aren't really viable alternatives left. Sentinel Titan used to be absolute meta in melee combat with Synthoceps and ACD/Feedbacks, but where did that go? It went home, because you just can't expect to reliably play that melee style. People love to play all sorts of playstyles and love to have variations around. I'll bet that a lot of Titan mains would love to put that Mask away, but struggle to get to play a different style because of the restrictions of the class and the exotics.
@@DerultimativeOzzy Oh I've had this discussion as a D1 titan. The non-punching ecotics sometimes benefit meleeing or have it part of it. I like punching, but I also want to have utility in endgame when it's time. OEM utility is specific to pvp and unless you're running an exotic for something else really niche, it's the best pvp exotic for titans. Titan being bots is due to Bungie crippling playstyles. Thunderstruck is still a piss in the bucket, so it's relegated to cheesing and pvp. Banner shield unless something makes you movie is only useful for 6 players or to just goof around with a shield, because your melee/grenade combo make up your kit.
Honestly, the changes to Ward of Dawn actually make me want to play Titan more. Then again, being a protector tank tends more towards my kind of power fantasy.
The consistent issue that Bungie has had for years is the lack of frequent updates/tweaks to broken things, along with them tweaking those issues too hard.
Just my predictions but I think BOTH titans and warlocks will be simultaneously put on "DPS-super-duty", Intersecting a well with a bubble similar to a venn diagram. Bubble damage buff and the well keeping you alive longer outside of the bubble. So sadly it looks like the same meta for us warlock mains.
@@GiraffeVortex I completely forgot to mention that the lunafaction well reload bonus will also last longer than popping a rally barricade outside the bubble. So perhaps the meta will be titans for damage and warlocks for reload?
The armor thing is just dumb. Like you said, literally switch the raid armor with the plasticity ornament set and I think it's all fine. It's not like people won't be buying the season because "the armor just has those stupid glows mehhh" NO the glows are cool as hell! Would it really hurt their sales that much if they switched these two sets? The revelation that the raid armor is reskins probably did more to hurt sales than making the sets what they should be anyway. All the other stuff I'm cool with, just need to confirm that it all works okay in-game. I remember you made a video a while back talking about how raid bosses are all have the same damage cycles: do mechanic for a while to create damage phase, dump damage for a few seconds, rinse and repeat until dead. Bungie ought to fundamentally rethink their approach to raid encounters and make them more varied. Having a roaming boss that is always damageable but has a lot of health, a shooting mechanic ala Riven's eyes that reveal the boss's crit spot for a timed duration, an asymmetrical split approach to encounters that aren't 2/2/2 or 3/3 (similar to Pleasure Gardens that forces a 4/2 approach), or STEALTH boss fights, or melee-only fights, just to name a few ideas I've had. ANYTHING to get us out of the raid boss rut. The Sparrow and tank parts in Scourge were great to me, and Riven (properly) is a blast too. I just get tired all the time of limited-window damage phases against stationary bosses all the time.
Taking a break after solstice armor and I’m glad I didn’t just buy shadow keep and the season pass. Looking forward to see how things go before I come back. That laundry list of nerfs is very troubling. Power fantasy? What power fantasy?
Being able to stack said buffs and debuffs is a result of teamwork. How about you make each individual buff do less, but they can stack as much as you want. That way it's still rewarding when you work together to make it all work.
Little secret that people are sleeping on. Pick the blade barrage super, pick the dodge that grants you a melee when dodging nearby an enemy and open your fights with a throwing knife. The burn of the knives do count as melee hits so you an shoot your mountaintop for example 5 times. Dodge, rince and repeat. a build that is so independent from any mods as well that you can pretty much use anything. If Bungie sleeps on this, the Gauntlets will be meta.
I really don't have a problem with them nerfing things as long as by the end of the season things get a little out of control with buffs. I like the pattern of a more difficult early stage but just stomping in the end.
I noticed Stormtrance was absent from the notes on Super armor. Really hoping they left it alone, in my experience you tend to lose non-1v1 engagements unless you somehow catch them off-guard.
Lunafaction warlocks and rally barricade titans: *get nerfed* Hunter’s sealed ahmakara’s grasp, way of a thousands cuts, and marksman’s dodge: *allow us to introduce ourselves*
He's how I see the Well and Ward argument. Ward should be used as a refuge in a chaotic situation, people running through, taking cover and getting buffed to go out and kill stuff. Well, however, I see as the dps super. As Datto said, it's easier to use, gives more than just damage buffs, and is generally a spot for your team to band together. that's just my opinion, though
I’m glad they changed auto reload If they’re going to make supers more challengeable, I’d like to see us be able to early-cancel a la chaos reach. Something like fist of havoc shouldn’t be as forgiving and might should have the cooldown given back closer to how it was pre-patch. This lets you do a panic fist, use up maybe 25%, then cancel and get back maybe 20-30% of your bar so it lets you be more similar to d1 fist. I think making ward of dawn even stronger is absolutely ridiculous. It already requires an entire super, what does it even mean they’re making it stronger? If a titan can’t predict they need to GTFO, then they need to die when it’s destroyed. Bottom tree striker and dawnblade both need to be toned down, striker moreso than dawnblade.
Steroid Sausage like not getting full health in one kill Btw I play titan for thoughs who think I have bias Because any health restoration helps to slay out even if it is a small Amount
We really need go be careful because honestly after finishing that iron banner quest on one character i missed mindless shooting for a reward. We need balance between difficulty and reward this year
I’m honestly getting sick off these nerfs. Bungie literally said a few months back when they were nerfing exotic armour pieces that give you your super back, that players should be getting their super from orbs of light on the ground, now it’s like “you know what, no one gets supers!” Despite bungie saying they want us to “create what ever monster killing machine” we want. Nerfing exotics doesn’t make them exotic anymore. Exotics are exotics for a reason. Removing the auto reload function from lunafaction boots now makes them pointless, they are no longer an exotic. They are now about as good as a reload masterwork at tier 10. Bungie just constantly go back on themselves, saying they want you to be awesome and powerful, but then removing everything that makes you awesome and powerful.
I'm fine with the nerfs, but I'm not fine with the amount of buffs we got in return. There are still too many subclass trees that need improvements or even reworks.
CornerCarrot Well will still have a point because it still makes you really hard to kill inside of it. Ward of Dawn can provide an overshield with Saint 14, and your invincible inside of the bubble, but dont even come close to the rapid healing of Well in ease of use.
@@cornercarrot8031 Well is still going to be strong. You just pair it with a bubble now. You get the damage from the bubble and the healing + enhanced reload through Well/Luna.
I think Luke said it in the directors cut but, during an interview at guardiancon with the devs I asked “why it takes so long to actually nerf these things” and that “Luke addressing the lord of wolves was awesome” the response was that they are intentionally aiming for a patch every season opposed to ones during the season so I’m not holding high hopes that there will be frequent patches during a season
I want pinnicles to be used as betas for new perks, only the 'best' more hardcore players are going to get them (first at least) so we can see them using them, seeing if they are broken or balanced or underpowered. Then after a season, we get adjustments and versions of those perks thrown into the perk pools. If we had recluse looked at for example, with correct adjustments made, then its just a good buff that could roll. Would it lessen the importance and usefulness of the pinnicles, sure, but the new usefulness of giving us more variety in perks would be worth it in the long run.
You forgot to mention that dragon element does *zero* extra damage to the first monster. Fire weapons have 3-star extra damage. The fight took forever with my Jho longsword.
You could just not worry about immunes if you ran a Hammerdin. Magic immunity is pretty rare, and the few things that are magic immune should be fine to kill with the physical damage of an Act 2 Merc. Obviously you probably want your merc to be decently geared enough for it to not die (andariel's visage, eth shaftstop or eth treachery), and maybe running Holy Freeze, but it's not a huge deal to use cheaper gear (vamp gaze, non-eth shaftstop). There's a bunch of weapon options for a merc, but I'm lazy and use Insight on my merc for every build ever.
The glory rank changes are nice because it sounds like earning pinnacle crucible weapons will actually be more a testament to your skill as a player as opposed to your luck in match making the way it feels in the current system.
You hit a lot of my thoughts in this video. Raid gear is one of (if not the most) important rewards in the game. Players want to show it off, but because Bungie want the best looking gear behind a pay wall, the raid gear has been cheapened. Players don't want to be seen in that setup anymore. These nerfs are too much, too often. As soon as I heard ANOTHER wave of nerfs coming, I thought "What happened to making the guardians feel stronger? We're getting weaker every month!!" I fear in the name of making the game feel "more challenging" Bungie will be reverting back to Y1 mistakes. The fan base will drop off again (like they did in Y1) and Bungie will have to promise to make us stronger to bring us back. Y2 was so successful to Destiny 2 but I feel the heads in Bungie have a different view for Destiny to what the fan base want to play. Y2 was a scramble to make us want to play and it worked! But ego and vision is back to ruining gameplay.
@@iamcreamingbecause1061 I've played Destiny since D1 alpha. I fell out of love in Y1 but I sunk THOUSANDS of hours into D2 since Forsaken. Over Y2 we had a few nerfs, but the time between Season of Opulence and Shadowkeep, we've had MORE nerfs and BIGGER changes to the gameplay than any other expansion or season.
When I first heard about the lunafaction rifts no longer auto reloading, I figured they'd change it to just reload weapons really fast. Hopefully faster than outlaw. I'm thinking it'll be like having drop mag and outlaw together or it will just max out the reload stat on your current weapon while standing in the rift or well. Which is actually ok. The one thing I didn't like about the auto reload is that if you had a kill clip perk, you wouldn't get it to proc because of how the auto reload works.
A little gutted we aren’t getting Cauldron back, always like that map as it gave long range sniper opportunities as well as close play due to it layout but never mind. Fairly happy with the nerds, never been a player who enjoys using the same gear from season to season, let stuff have its time in the sun then drop off, key is boasting under used stuff and what new must have items come into the game
I kinda hate how destiny does anything datto says they should , it’s hard enough for people in raids, this nerf is just for people who play this game for a living. (Mainly auto reloading nerf)
From a total casaul all the changes looked great. More thought will go into playing maybe after this, rather than just stack all the buffs and one cycle stuff.
Only thing that worries me is still no information on the bottom trees as previously mentioned. Hoping they just tone down the durations by 20%-25%, honestly I'd take anything at this point. Be killed by the same super twice and occasionally 3 times gets super old.
I can understand why some think the Armor Ornaments from the Season Pass should be the raid armor, and vice versa. However (speaking as someone who regularly raids), a majority of the community doesn't raid. This means that if the most dope armor that season comes from the raid, then a majority of the community has no access to it. Don't get me wrong, I think raid armor should be cool, but the large part of the community that doesn't raid should have access to sick armor too! Not to mention, this isn't the first instance of re-skinned raid loot (i.e. Wrath, Crota, etc.), but this is the first time I have heard anyone complain about it. Personally, I like the Garden of Salvation armor, though I kinda wish that they had taken a little more artistic licences if they were going to re-skin it.
@Shirley Timple The sweet armor doesn't come from Eververse though (and i personally think the raid set looks cool, but to each their own). Its not even the first case of re-skins in the franchise. Remember Crota's end where you could grab the the awesome Oversoul "i'm a reskin of strike loot" Edict? Or literally every weapon from Wrath? These are just a couple of examples of re-skinned raid loot, but this is the first time I've heard complaints about it.

My thoughts are we are headed back to D2, year one and by Halloween the game is dead again... My guess is most of the Destiny 2 population will not be able to complete a raid based on all of the reductions. Riven is the only boss we can one phase, and that never a given. I wasn't taking the whole, "Bungie puts way more effort into Eververse armor" thing seriously until I saw the Empyrean Cartographer set. I don't think they've put that much effort in an armor set since Destiny 1 year 3!
Plus that plasticity set
I get eververse armor being cool and "vanity" looking but the contrast between store armor and activity armor is a joke
Thought the exact same thing as soon as I saw them in the TWAB and saw NOBODY talking about it. Really disappointing.

Why did they ever remove that bonus damage energy weapons did to supers? That’s one of the reasons people felt that supers were almost unbeatable

So if I'm following this right, Sentinel titans with Tractor cannon will be extremely versatile.
A. Dway nope, tractor will be useless basically, damage buffs cannot stack
Iteration Fack&Shet tractor cannon is a debuff, not a buff
Derek LaSota it will not stack anymore, melting point was also a debuff, so that won’t count either, bungie thinks it’s too op
Iteration Fack&Shet you can have one buff and one debuff active simultaneously
Derek LaSota but still, they stack, so it won’t work, bungie is completely changing the system, because they don’t want “crutches”, which is why the removed weapons of light in the first place, it’s fucking stupid if you ask me, if they actually made boss fights that weren’t just a damage check then they wouldn’t have to worry about things like weapons or well. Instead make raids about skill and coordination, same thing with strikes. But still most rebuffs are already overridden by stronger debuffs already, such as shadowshot, but now debuffs and buffs are being lumped together so only the strongest buffs can survive
IB hunter set is a reskin. The helmet is from Black Armoury season, the cloak is SoS cloak, the legs and arms are a slightly changed previous IB set
People obviously care about reskins A LOT MORE than I do.
Oryx The Taken King you need to look at the chest buddy
The Phenotype armor should have been the raid armor, it looks sick!!! wtf Bungie?

Aesthetics shouldn’t matter much when massive nerfs are going around
@@Johnnyboycurtis that's exactly what they wanted players like you to think that's why they released it all at once. To distract you from the fact that the best armor set is for purchase while the PINNACLE ACTIVITY of the game (raids) armor set is a reskin. Sucks to see things like your comment being said.
Raid armor looks like shit. It should at least be on par with Eververse since it's apparently the hardest PvE activity.
@@Johnnyboycurtis Are you implying these nerfs aren't warranted?
It's funny going back to D1 after playing D2 for so long and realizing how unforgiving it is in comparison. Can't just 1 phase raid bosses with a thought, and strikes actually take some effort. I really hope these changes bring D2 closer to D1.
I'm not holding my breath for PvP though.
Shirley Timple careful not to cut yourself on all your razor sharp edges bro
Good, with the game constantly expanding there needs to be refinement from time to time.
Thank you! Someone gets it
BINGO this guy gets it
Warlocks will still be viable after their nerfs. I dont see a problem as the titans role in endgame since sept. 2018 has been relegated to a single melee ability on an otherwise underwhelming subclass tree.
@@theomwithi8786 - But Titans are better at PvP and they are not supposed be a Support class anyway. After this buff they will be much better at both.
Huh, bottom dawnblade doesn’t need orbs to gain super while in super
@@warv6552 You have to have the super in the first place to take advantage of that. My point was that the subclass doesn't do anything until you get the super, and the nerfs to super generation will exacerbate that problem.
Totally agree. It only has 2 other perks that aren't about the super. The melee causes burn and if someone is killed by it they explode (pretty much completely useless in both pve and pvp), and Phoenix dive, which, now doesnt do anything, and it's not worth taking the time to activate it. It doesnt give pretty much any health. So the super is the only reason to ever use the subclass.
ShadowZealot7 Finally somebody with a brain!

I mean its classic Bungie. New content comes around and they nerf stuff into the ground then spend the next year or so trying to fix it.

Even Datto forgot about thundercrash... I think it will be season 10 when we see that subclass buffed
It will probably be nerfed.
Thanks Bungie!
its good in pvp. the super probably needs more damage on pve tho

Anyone else remember Bungie saying that they were done nerfing everything, and were going to buff everything else up to match? Yeah, how's that working out?
or maybe they are balancing them just so they dont become overpowered weapons that make the game boring?
@Shirley Timple HAHAHAHHAHAHAH is that supposed to be a counter argument?
I agree with the armour talk datto. I feel depressed over it.
The consistent issue that Bungie has had for years is the lack of frequent updates/tweaks to broken things, along with them tweaking those issues too hard.
I absolutely LOVE the raid armor...but you're right. The Phenotype should probably be the raid gear.
Maybe not, as Titans can give blessing of light with the exotic Helm of Saint 14, so well might not be necessary.
Teamwork? I don’t think you need a team to press LB + RB
um.....they openly stated that only the strongest buffs and debuffs take effect thou
Welcome back to D1-levels of power fantasy. Glad to be back to challenging content.
Community: We want vostok gone
Bungie: you said dead cliffs right?
Thanks for the video too Datto! Have a good weekend brother 🤙🏽
Hunters with sealed grasps gonna be meta
Hamish Horsburgh I have always used them and now they will be even better.
Way of the wraith and throw the smoke at the boss.
Sam Schofield and wraith has shattering strike, when's the last time someone utilized that against a boss?
Andrew Harwell that was the part of the class that needed rework
Arc titans also have two trees with auto reload perks, but probably won't get used in endgame because weapons of light exists now
Little secret that people are sleeping on.
I like the pattern of a more difficult early stage but just stomping in the end.
william kirby hell yes, that’s how endgame should be, you being a fucking god because you spent days and days grinding to be that way. You get it
"Bungie fixed an issue where players are having fun"
Ah I see so you are one of those trash cans that think broken weapons are “fun” because it’s the only way you can beat an activity
@@drosdraven9 Ok mr MLG gamer. No one cares what you think
Izanagi's Burden just got a big buff.
Literally nothing in Shadowkeep so far seems worth the asking price.
I noticed Stormtrance was absent from the notes on Super armor. Really hoping they left it alone, in my experience you tend to lose non-1v1 engagements unless you somehow catch them off-guard.
Lunafaction warlocks and rally barricade titans:
*get nerfed*
Hunter’s sealed ahmakara’s grasp, way of a thousands cuts, and marksman’s dodge:
*allow us to introduce ourselves*
i really am glad to see that you agree about the raid armor.
The moon armor makes me laugh it's so bad Lmao.
I think it's only the warlock one that's bad, titan is good and hunter is ok
Generic Name420 as a warlock main I love it, the armor felt so stale and bad I struggled to make a decent look
Rriestone Daquis
Warlock armor in D2 is the most blandest thing ever. I miss my D1 warlock.
Subjective, I personally think it isn't that bad.
@@rr-dy5ij good to know that some people enjoy how it looks
He's how I see the Well and Ward argument. Ward should be used as a refuge in a chaotic situation, people running through, taking cover and getting buffed to go out and kill stuff. Well, however, I see as the dps super. As Datto said, it's easier to use, gives more than just damage buffs, and is generally a spot for your team to band together. that's just my opinion, though
You should make a video about what destiny is and what makes it fun so that new people can decide if they want to play it when shadowkeep comes out
I’m glad they changed auto reload
If they’re going to make supers more challengeable, I’d like to see us be able to early-cancel a la chaos reach.
As long as bottom Striker and OEM get significant, specific nerfs I’ll be happy.
Steroid Sausage like not getting full health in one kill
Btw I play titan for thoughs who think I have bias
Because any health restoration helps to slay out even if it is a small Amount

Holy shit that Empyrean armor looks freaking EPIC, that should be the freaking raid armor.
No the neotype should be raid armor since it looks like Vex, Empyrean should be the season pass armor.
Grenade launcher out.
Izanagi's burden in.
Iron Banner armor is just flat out cool. I even like pairing it with Helm of Saint-14.
I'm fine with the nerfs, but I'm not fine with the amount of buffs we got in return. There are still too many subclass trees that need improvements or even reworks.
S.ns. Warlocks didn’t get shit in return after they destroyed our Well. All we got is a slight buff to bottom tree Nova.
@@cornercarrot8031
Bottom tree nova is a actually good now, wdym warlocks are bad now.
VHG We have no use! Bubble is better than our Well and Celestial is better than any other DPS super in the game.
CornerCarrot Well will still have a point because it still makes you really hard to kill inside of it. Ward of Dawn can provide an overshield with Saint 14, and your invincible inside of the bubble, but dont even come close to the rapid healing of Well in ease of use.
@@cornercarrot8031
Well is still going to be strong.
Finally! I won't be threatened with a kick for being a Warlock that doesn't wanna use Lunas and Well.
sometimes you just wanna kamehameha!
Alex Mondt YES.
yeah ull be threatened with a kick for playing warlock because they are gonna be useless
@@mondty
I wanna use Kamehameha without being forced to use Geomags, but then the whole subclass sucks. RIP.
There doesn't have to always be a "purpose" for a class. Fun Fact: You can beat raid bosses in more than one damage phase!
I think you're on the wrong video
???
@@quonoa the game hes talking about is monster hunter btw lol
The glory rank changes are nice because it sounds like earning pinnacle crucible weapons will actually be more a testament to your skill as a player as opposed to your luck in match making the way it feels in the current system.
Can we get some auto rifles that are viable at least...
Tigerspite, suros reg, sweet business, halfdan d
Thanks for the breakdown, Great update!!
all the cool gear in eververse..........
hhhhmmmm.........
reminds me of CURSE OF OSIRIS.
We're getting weaker every month!!"
I fear in the name of making the game feel "more challenging" Bungie will be reverting back to Y1 mistakes.
"too much too often." you haven'y played in years
@@iamcreamingbecause1061 I've played Destiny since D1 alpha.
Bungie: we hear you like nerfs, so here are some more nerf on your nerfs so it gets nerfs on your nerfs so be more nerfed.
Unpopular opinion
I think the Phenotype armor isn’t that good. Change my mind
Invistre nobody cares lmao
A little gutted we aren’t getting Cauldron back, always like that map as it gave long range sniper opportunities as well as close play due to it layout but never mind. Fairly happy with the nerds, never been a player who enjoys using the same gear from season to season, let stuff have its time in the sun then drop off, key is boasting under used stuff and what new must have items come into the game
I kinda hate how destiny does anything datto says they should , it’s hard enough for people in raids, this nerf is just for people who play this game for a living. (Mainly auto reloading nerf)
AlbertDuckStein they cater to titans and make the rest of the player base suffer whenever they are slightly better than titans lol it’s sad
AlbertDuckStein Datto says jump Bungie says how high! It’s incredibly annoying and why I don’t like datto
I totally understand you and all but, do you wanna be able to sleep while you play the game or what?
I don’t hate datto or anything, I’m just annoyed.
Nah, I can understand the nerfs as someone who doesn't make a living out of this
From a total casaul all the changes looked great. More thought will go into playing maybe after this, rather than just stack all the buffs and one cycle stuff.
That raid armor tho... Oof
I think it's looks really cool tbh
Only thing that worries me is still no information on the bottom trees as previously mentioned. Hoping they just tone down the durations by 20%-25%, honestly I'd take anything at this point. Be killed by the same super twice and occasionally 3 times gets super old.
Thanks for the vid Datto! Your insight is great to listen to as always
You can all thank Datto for the nerfs.
