The turrets & jackal shield could be used in SPV3 the Halo 1 equivalent to Halo 2 Rebalanced, but as Halo 1 has no duel wielding the latter saw limited use outside the start of Two Betrayals. The Energy Staff also reminds me of the Pfhor Shock Staff that was in both Marathon Eternal & Marathon Redux but it can’t shoot plasma blasts. Both remind me of the similar shock staffs the huntsclan uses in American Dragon. The gungoose’s grenades or rockets were in SPV3 too if I remember right. I need to play again to check.
TBH, I'm a diehard old school Halo fan. Everything in this video is fantastic. My only gripe, I think the Reach Falcon would fit better as the model used to add continuity between the games.
The flock stuff is AMAZING. The feeling of being part of a larger war effort is one of my favorite parts of these games (and one of the most frustrating failures by 343)
I know this is gonna be good when I'm actually motivated to sit through the midroll video sponsorship just to support their efforts. I wouldn't be surprised if this ends up being the best Halo campaign of all time, modded or otherwise.
The Mongoose is actually super important as not a vehicle, but as a sprint mechanic. Ideally, the mongoose and sprint shouldn't be in the same games, and we actually see this in later Halos with how rare the mongoose actually is in both campaign and multiplayer. Halo 2A even felt the need to add a Gungoose, which feels entirely redundant because it's basically just a worse ghost with the ability to have a passenger. The mongoose takes away your ability to shoot and makes you move faster, it also gives you an advantage in staying safe against encounters due to the mongoose being able to take shots for you (to a certain extent). As correctly noticed, Halo 3's introduction of a passenger seat made the Mongoose entirely viable. Now it can be both a sprint mechanic and a support vehicle. Not just moving someone's gun around faster, but also moving objectives around faster, just like the warthog can but without being as big as the warthog (you can drive straight into buildings with a mongoose). And so backing up, I don't think the gungoose is necessarily a good addition. UNSC design seems to always focus on the co-operation aspect. You can drive a vehicle, and a passenger makes it way better. Other than the Scorpion and flying vehicles, and Gungoose, every UNSC vehicle requires a passenger to dish out firepower, but even using the scorpion, hornet, and falcon as examples, they're all _way better_ with passengers. Loading up 4 rockets on a scorpion or fitting your hornet on The Covenant with double spartan lasers is awesome, not to mention falcons having triple (or more with grenade launchers) firepower is just OP as hell. Meanwhile covenant vehicles are the opposite. Pretty much all of them are solo-centric, and sure can be enhanced by a passenger but passengers usually aren't worth much. Take for instance the Wraith and Revenant, which having a passenger doesn't really change much about their usage. Many Covenant vehicles don't even allow passengers at all, such as the ghost and banshee. Now the one exception here is the Spectre, which only exists because obviously they needed a Covenant version of the warthog. The gungoose _breaks_ this design. It is a self-reliant UNSC vehicle, that is minimally enhanced by a passenger, especially the grenade launcher variant. The Gungoose more nicely fits into the gameplay category of a Covenant vehicle, but obviously it isn't. It feels like poor design.
It is far from being efficient as the ghost, it's only good movement is as forward movement. The mongoose has no armor and cannot "take shoots for you" I don't know where you got that, it has the highest driver damage transfer As soon as you stop is a death penalty, it is small, light and sluggish when recovering, so treating it as a ghost is the fastest way to get killed, because that's how it is in 3 and Reach. hence you ditch damage and run but you are still dependant of a passenger to cover you while recovering, and a good weapon which requires interacting with the sandbox
@@abunny6925 I called the gungoose a worse ghost, obviously the ghost has far better movement. As for the armour thing, that's not what I mean. Objectively, being in a mongoose protects you from shots more than not being in a mongoose. From a side angle or top angle there is no protection at all, but from a bottom, back, or front angle, yes the mongoose will get shot instead of you. That is protection to an extent, because obviously the mongoose itself can take damage and eventually become a liability. And as I said, mongoose is just a better sprint mechanic, so obviously stopping in a mongoose is bad/a death sentence. The goal is to go fast. Comparing the mongoose to a ghost is silly, comparing the gungoose to a ghost makes sense because they are functionally very similar, even though they play moderately differently. Mongeese exist in an entirely support + speed use group. Both ghosts and gungeese exist in a more aggressive playstyle. Hit and Run is a viable strategy for ghosts too as ghosts themselves are weak and can be flanked easily.
BOYS WAKE UP! RUBY POSTED A NEW UPDATE VID! THIS is why I am so excited for your mod. The level of thought and care that obviously goes into the mod is outstanding! You aren't just adding in cut content for the sake of it like other modders do (which is perfectly fine btw) but you're really thinking about 'does this cut weapon/vehicle/mission area add anything to the game?'. All the questions like why, what, where, when, add so much more depth and fun than just, 'hey lets add these 50 new weapons that all do the same thing!' or 'hey lets add a 30 mins of walking to this mission!'. It all boils down to the age old saying of 'Just because you can, doesn't mean you should.', and I love that you're taking the time to think about all of this. Keep up the amazing work team! Can't wait to see the final result.
I hope Ruby is checking out other mods at the same time, loving the reanimation mods, and that new gravemind mod that lets u ally with elites is top notch. I wonder what parts of rebalanced will be different and similar to halo 2 uncut as well, and I hope it takes all the good things from uncut. One thing I liked about uncut was the animated reticle when using the mounted machine gun, and i noticed that wasnt added yet
This is so Peak. I think the only way this mod could get even better is it some how included the cut missions like Earth Ark to finish the fight(dismissing halo 3). Or somehow making mombassa like e3 mombassa. Maybe even alpha moon
I hate it every time you make a video because I always have to control myself in an inhuman way so as not to spoil myself. So thanks for keeping some secrets 😂
can i request you fix the shotgun reload (look at it frame by frame, you can see the loading gate move before the shell touches it, which once you notice you can't not notice it)
Interesting choice on the Stave. You can’t stupidly go for the jump attack without getting wrecked Scoped dual wielding? Finally someone does it I agree with the Falcon choice. Brutes do love using UNSC tech. You could have their heads exposed while they fly. You could also have some allies in it join you since the marines are helping out. Replace the third banshee with one? After a recent Graveminf mod, I can’t wait to see what you’ve got in mind for that level & High Charity
Please, let this mod come out gor Project Cartographer. A lot of us still play there and don't have H2 for MCC pc. This would be a gift for all players on both versions of the game. Good work!
Man i think this will be hard. Maybe he can do a "lite" version of the mod to put in the cartographer, but all the that stuff? Cartographer doesn't have a proper modding tool as i know
I have a question for you and it’s the shotgun from episode 2 did it also restore the cut final reload animation cause even if you emptied the shotgun ammo before reloading there’s also somehow a shell already loaded inside
Hey Ruby Of Blue! See your newest work! Love what I’m seeing. But uh, the previous campaign mods will still be available for everyone right?. CuZ I really wanted to play the enhanced version of Halo 2 vanilla. I want to try this Halo 2 redux as well but I also would love to play that previous mod for campaign, health bar visible, an actual functional Magnum, while also using the new HD campaign animations, all that good stuff. Having the option for playing either modded campaign would be a very good idea for old players and new players. I can’t be the only one whose thought of that let alone asked.
I reckon with the Energy Lance/Stave/Pike/Staff being the "slightly longer ranged melee weapon", an energy beam that comes from the tip a short way when you pull the trigger would be neat. In a way it would be like a really short range Sentinel Beam with high damage - though not instakill. Just a thought
I've been waiting for this rebalance before workshop mods for MCC so about two years or so, glad it's been worked on all this time when many (me myself) though it was abandoned. I so can't wait to play the REAL Halo 2
Just saw this, on the passenger falcon, it can be use for AI in specific hostile instances as it makes sense that the amber clad would have more of them then pelicans. Would give a good smaller hostile for the arbiter to fight, as well as a good reinforcement drop off unit in chief levels. You can also use it like the halo wars resource transports. showing it landing and dropping off supplies or units in places it doesn't make sense for a pelican to be used. Having both would be nice, calling one the sparrow and the other the Darter. Just to give them a more unique identity.
@@texel76I’m sorry, but “they aren’t meant to be” doesn’t mean anything this isn’t an uncut mod, this is a mod trying to stay true to Halo’s design and lore… Yes, they would be there, we see them fighting on Earth in Halo 3, why not earlier? I feel the energy staff should deal more damage. or add a "hold the trigger" to power the spear tip to deal massive amount of damage in a similar way to the plasma pistol there you can hold the trigger. Maybe a energy sword like blade spawn on the tip of the spear or something.
The blue CE style jackal shield in Halo 2 look so good. I'd really like to know why Bungie changed them in the first place, like they changed them to look like the fugly broken shields from Halo PC.. Why??
Its really great to see the effort and time you are putting in. I was thinking that, can you guys make dual wieldable weapons exchangable with allied elites. Like, we can give dual needler to an elite.
I have a suggestion, although it is difficult for me to say it because I am not a contributor to the project beyond being a simple spectator, but I would like to see the interface of the Master Chief and the Arbiter be different, to give it a more immersive touch.
Finally, a campaign mod that lets you use the hobor guard pike as a weapon. The modded multiplayer map aerial in Halo 2 lets you use the pike but I've always wanted to see it used in Halo 2. I can't wait to play your Halo 2 rebalanced mod.
Great work. I’ve been playing your balanced campaigns for a long time now- and following these updates closely. I would say that I really would like to see sprint included in a future update. And no, I don’t actually like sprint and think it should go away in future Halo titles. But that’s mainly for multiplayer- I would actually love to see what sprint would have felt like in Halo 2 and think it would enhance the campaign experience.
The H2 shotgun with a good view model and good animations? 😭 I never thought I’d see the day! Jokes aside, the wait for this has been intolerable, dude. You and your team are absolutely killing it
This mod is looking so badass! I am so excited for it! The phantom flocks you guys did look just like the background of the cover art, and I am in love
The Falcon kinda reminds me of a blockier version of The Wasp from 5 and Infinite, which fills the role your giving the Falcon here, as a support fighter like the Hornet
Getting access to the sword in H2 was great, but in hindsight its pretty drull. kinda wish you could hold melee to block, hold the trigger for heavy lunge (without the need for a red crosshair) or press the trigger rapidly for faster swipes! Making melee combat more interesting between hammers, swords, staves, and berzerking brutes. (would be neat to see a few chieftains with hammers hiden about)

I waited 3 months for this video, hope Halo 2 rebalanced is gonna be juicy
I'm so excited to play this, halo 2 is my favorite of the series and the rebalance mods you make are fantastic
TBH, I'm a diehard old school Halo fan. Everything in this video is fantastic. My only gripe, I think the Reach Falcon would fit better as the model used to add continuity between the games.
Could be a different model of the falcon, like the reach version was an older version
you got to remember that the Halo reach falcon was a different and older model.
Honestly the one Ruby made more rings of a Bungie design for the Wasp
The flock stuff is AMAZING. The feeling of being part of a larger war effort is one of my favorite parts of these games (and one of the most frustrating failures by 343)
They did well with it in Halo 5. Not much else, but the sky boxes were active at least
@@bigdiddyzp1762 agreed. Unfortunately we were running around under those skyboxes playing power rangers the whole time
I know this is gonna be good when I'm actually motivated to sit through the midroll video sponsorship just to support their efforts.
The mongoose has no armor and cannot "take shoots for you" I don't know where you got that, it has the highest driver damage transfer
As soon as you stop is a death penalty, it is small, light and sluggish when recovering, so treating it as a ghost is the fastest way to get killed, because that's how it is in 3 and Reach.
hence you ditch damage and run but you are still dependant of a passenger to cover you while recovering, and a good weapon which requires interacting with the sandbox
Shut up

I hope so too. I hope he adds AlphaRing support
This is so Peak. I think the only way this mod could get even better is it some how included the cut missions like Earth Ark to finish the fight(dismissing halo 3). Or somehow making mombassa like e3 mombassa. Maybe even alpha moon
amazing keep up the good work
I am so so hyped. I praise any sandbox addition ! This is my dream Halo 2 coming true, keep up the good work you and your team.
#Freedomfromdeltahalo
14:33 holy shit! that pelican made me so much more hyped for this mod
I hate it every time you make a video because I always have to control myself in an inhuman way so as not to spoil myself.
So thanks for keeping some secrets 😂
The twin grenade launcher Gungoose also appeared in Halo 5.
can i request you fix the shotgun reload (look at it frame by frame, you can see the loading gate move before the shell touches it, which once you notice you can't not notice it)
Interesting choice on the Stave. You can’t stupidly go for the jump attack without getting wrecked
Scoped dual wielding? Finally someone does it
I agree with the Falcon choice. Brutes do love using UNSC tech. You could have their heads exposed while they fly. You could also have some allies in it join you since the marines are helping out. Replace the third banshee with one?
After a recent Graveminf mod, I can’t wait to see what you’ve got in mind for that level & High Charity
The honor guard stick could be named after some historic polearm.
"Force Halberd" etc
Goddam, the pikes animations look great.
Cartographer doesn't have a proper modding tool as i know
It’s impossible. This can only be achieved with H2 mod tools provided by MCC, Project Cartographer will NOT be compatible with it.
@nondayz593 Saddest day for Halo 2 players that don't use MCC.
@@blackagent4754 mcc often goes on sales, and it's very affordable nowadays.
im making a mod which is a big halo 2 desert battle with ai and e3 assets, i have the map made already and im working on weapons\scenery stuff
I would love it if you could yeet the spear at enemies and pick it up again. Just for the pure fun factor of it
I have a question for you and it’s the shotgun from episode 2 did it also restore the cut final reload animation cause even if you emptied the shotgun ammo before reloading there’s also somehow a shell already loaded inside
This is only getting better and better
Yes halo 2 the greatest game
I reckon with the Energy Lance/Stave/Pike/Staff being the "slightly longer ranged melee weapon", an energy beam that comes from the tip a short way when you pull the trigger would be neat. In a way it would be like a really short range Sentinel Beam with high damage - though not instakill.
Just a thought
I can see the potential of the energy stave for booping enemies off the map. I’m so looking forward to giving this bad boy a spin
The flocking ships and areal battles are genius! I am eager to see more of it!
I've been waiting for this rebalance before workshop mods for MCC so about two years or so, glad it's been worked on all this time when many (me myself) though it was abandoned. I so can't wait to play the REAL Halo 2
I'm so pleased to see how careful you are when reimplementing cut content. This project is more exciting than anything 343 could ever release.
why do i like halo 2's falcon better than the reach one
I'm excited about the rebalanced version of Halo 2, I just have to wait for it to be completed, greetings
This looks insanely good so far. Honestly, I can't wait to see what this mod has in store. You guys hit it out of the ball park with tbis one!
Why not just implement the gunship "falcons" as hornets, it keeps it in line with Halo 3.
Cuz
1) They're not Hornets and aren't meant to
2) There's still no enough place for them to be added on the campaing
@@texel76I’m sorry, but “they aren’t meant to be” doesn’t mean anything this isn’t an uncut mod, this is a mod trying to stay true to Halo’s design and lore… Yes, they would be there, we see them fighting on Earth in Halo 3, why not earlier? The current “falcons” don’t exist in canon, and it’s functions are literally the same as the hornets.
@@texel76*still no place to add them in the campaign. The EXAMPLE of the flocking mechanics in Halo 3 of ambient battles are literally HORNETS????? That’s their role???? They’re gunships. Solution: Instead of the falcons, make them hornets.
@@cj-3810 He's not going to add something that was not even intended to be part of the Game. The Falcon is an exception because it classifies as cut content, the Hornet does not
@@texel76 *He's not gonna add something not intended to be part of the Game* His first rebalance of CE literally added ODSTs. and he added the pistol from ODSTs... dawg.
I can't wait for Halo 2 to come out :') I haven't said that in a long time
The CE Mod was fantastic to playthrough, it has complete changed the way I play the game now. Can't wait for the full release of this mod to do the same. 😎
Not sure what you did with the base SMG, but its viewmodel looks so damn good. This can't come out soon enough.
I'm more excited for this then infinite updates!
would be cool to still have the ability to find the OG silenced SMG somewhere on the map too
I feel the energy staff should deal more damage.
or add a "hold the trigger" to power the spear tip to deal massive amount of damage in a similar way to the plasma pistol there you can hold the trigger.
Maybe a energy sword like blade spawn on the tip of the spear or something.
Agreed
The blue CE style jackal shield in Halo 2 look so good. I'd really like to know why Bungie changed them in the first place, like they changed them to look like the fugly broken shields from Halo PC.. Why??
That flocking system is awesome
Its really great to see the effort and time you are putting in.
I was thinking that, can you guys make dual wieldable weapons exchangable with allied elites. Like, we can give dual needler to an elite.
Love the br animations the position and that hk slap
I have a suggestion, although it is difficult for me to say it because I am not a contributor to the project beyond being a simple spectator, but I would like to see the interface of the Master Chief and the Arbiter be different, to give it a more immersive touch.
Finally, a campaign mod that lets you use the hobor guard pike as a weapon. The modded multiplayer map aerial in Halo 2 lets you use the pike but I've always wanted to see it used in Halo 2. I can't wait to play your Halo 2 rebalanced mod.
Would love to see the lighting be brought back
You’re doing the lord’s work right here. Infinitely more hyped for this mod than anything else Halo related atm.
I think in the future for H3, you'll want to get some more Brute themed vehicles.
Not that I can tell you this on the Discord anymore . . .
18:14 lol what’s with that jittery slide Chief is pulling?
i'm so excited for this to release
This is so fucking cool!
Looks really great. I am very impressed!
Can i give allies the honor guard pike?
Yes!
oh my god, i could just picture it.

1x Squad Leader
1x Asst. Squad Leader
1x Medic
3x Rifleman
1x Gungoose
2x Mongoose
Been waiting so long for this 0:02
I love how smug he was about calling a magazine by an incorrect name. Having fun being wrong bruv?🤣
Looks like its coming along very well 👍
The H2 shotgun with a good view model and good animations? 😭 I never thought I’d see the day!
Jokes aside, the wait for this has been intolerable, dude. You and your team are absolutely killing it
This mod is looking so badass! I am so excited for it! The phantom flocks you guys did look just like the background of the cover art, and I am in love
I'm going to be so happy when this release
The honor guard weapon seems to resemble a halberd most, with both poking and slashing capability
Meanwhile, Infinite is still waiting for the Falcon to be added... 😂. What's it been, three years?
The Falcon kinda reminds me of a blockier version of The Wasp from 5 and Infinite, which fills the role your giving the Falcon here, as a support fighter like the Hornet
How much money do i need to throw at someone to recreate the cut level concept of boarding the carrier in orbit around earth
Very
Getting access to the sword in H2 was great, but in hindsight its pretty drull. kinda wish you could hold melee to block, hold the trigger for heavy lunge (without the need for a red crosshair)
or press the trigger rapidly for faster swipes!
Making melee combat more interesting between hammers, swords, staves, and berzerking brutes. (would be neat to see a few chieftains with hammers hiden about)
