Absolute life saver with that competency sheet thank you so much, it was super useful!!
Glad to hear it was helpful!
Thank you Chrissie this is some great advice!
Glad you found it helpful!
Hi, your videos are truly insightful and I learn invaluable tips every time I watch so thank you for starting your channel. I am currently doing the LPC self-funded and wanted your advice on choosing electives. My dilemma is that I don't want to tie myself to certain areas of law by choosing to do or not to do certain electives when I don't have a training contract. Would a mix be a bad choice? Thank you.
Hi Mandy! Thank you for your support for LAB, it is much appreciated! If you are not sure which area of law you want to go into then choosing a mix of electives is certainly a wise choice. Taking an elective in Commercial law is always a good idea as all law firms, big and small, are business and a knowledge of commercial issues will be attractive to any law firm. Something litigation based is also useful as you will always have a contentious seat as part of training contract, wherever you train. Other than that, choose electives that you have a genuine interest in as you could be asked at interview why you chose those electives and having a passion for the subject area should be a primary reason given that you have no restrictions at this stage. Hope this helps! LAB x
Hi Chrissie, thanks for your advice. Would you consider Family law, Employment law and Clinical negligence/personal injury to be a good mix?
Hi Mandy yes I think thats a pretty broad spread which will be helpful in several different practice areas. Employment law is useful in so many different arenas so good choice! good luck!
Perfect video. 🇿🇦
Thank you!
Do you do any interview coaching?
Hi great vid, can someone please tell me where the competency skills sheet is. Thanks so much

Thank you so much! My interview is in March and I’m so nervous.. it’s my first ever interview and at such a massive firm.
Good luck!
Law and Broader thank you!
@@sanahlaha1835 hi have you passed your interview?
How many weeks or days do you prepare before your interview?
Hi!
Thank you for your very informative videos - they are so beneficial! Fortunately, after loads of preparation, I have been successful in securing a summer vacation scheme at a commercial firm.
Please, can you consider creating a video about how to succeed in converting a vacation scheme into a Traning contact? I am unsure how to prepare; do you have any experience in Vac schemes?
Thank you !!!
What amazing news! Congratulations this is a fantastic opportunity! I am certainly doing a video on vacation schemes in a few weeks time. Slowly working my way through the process from start to finish! When is your vac scheme? X
Thank you!! I am very very excited for it and my vac scheme starts in August for 2 weeks. I am looking forward to your next video and I will be following your channel, subscribed! xx

No need to be stressed if you prepare properly!
