    I am a 40 year old that decided I want a bike on a whim a few months ago. Did Q ride and then walked into the moto shop to buy an MT07 walked out with one of these with an Akropovic exhaust. As someone that hasn't ridden in 20 years it's terrifyingly fun I love it. Can't wait to get my big boy ride by myself licence in the new year. The throttle is "sketchy" I believe most new bikes have jacked up gogo handles because of the EU regulations. An exhaust and a tune gets you a few more k dubs and much nicer off the mark linearity. It's also wired for a quick shifter (up) get that quick shift is just a lovely thing to have! Nice review if I hadn't of bought one already you would have helped my decision!

    Dude,just some pointers ; if you sit on a bike to demonstrate the riding position ALWAYS put your foot on the peg so people can see what angle their knees will be in.Its essential for relaxed riding.Also ; mention your own height so we can compare.The XSR is defenitely no learner bike with its 70 hp engine.(in aussi you ll have the LAMS version knocked down in hp so that is fine)You demonstrate te front lever adjustment all wrong; lift the lever,then turn the rotor to change position .Mind you ,just FYI whishing you a great day and thanks for the review mate!

      Tbh if you're comfortable with a bit more power, the XSR is just that much more comfortable for daily riding.

      Sports bike for daily riding? Huh. I still can’t wrap my head around that. Sport bikes are the best looking and so tempting but naked seems like the best choice for daily

    • @GeometryDashKenaz
      @GeometryDashKenaz 10 місяців тому

      @@jhoned5762 Been daily riding an R3 for over a year now. Trust me it works. Where I live most people daily sport bikes so it never even felt awkward. Still want the xsr700 sometime though. Lately as I've been riding the 900 has been more tempting as the power difference from the r3 to xsr700 isnt TOO great. However it's pretty obvious that riding a 900 daily through traffic isnt going to be great. And that thing drink gas

    Great review thank you - I am going for my Ls shortly and am in two minds about what size bike to get. Some people are saying I need a light bike to pass the test to get my Ps but I really like the bigger LAMS bikes. Are the bigger heavier LAMS bikes still nimble enough for the test?

    • @ProductReviewCars
      @ProductReviewCars  Рік тому +1

      Cheers! And good luck. I did my test on a Ducati Monster 659. Horrible turning circle, and pretty heavy. It can be a bit harder to that test. But I still passed with no problems on that. So I say go for the bike you like the most, and don't bother buying two LAMS bikes. Just buy the one, and save for a derestricted bike when you get your fulls.

      Usually a full bike would offer CC's from 600-1000. Here you can have the larger motor, but without the crazy power. So it's a good size for those who want the most power while possessing a restricted license. You don't need it, but it's nice to have.

      Colour sceme, led headlight, display moved forward and left ans inverted I.e light text on a dark background, was other way round. To be fair Yamaha did fit the Michelin Road 5 tyres and the 298mm front disc brakes ( up from 284mm) in the last of the previous 2021 bikes, but are an upgrade fro the 2020 model (in the UK at least and engine spec stayed the same in UK, not sure about down under LAMS model with 34cc reduced capacity fron 689cc). Hope this helps.

    • @ProductReviewCars

      Not marketing, but legal reasons. Engine size and power is limited for Learner licence holders. So bike manufacturers offer a range of bikes up to around 650cc for riders who might be on their learner licence for 4 years.

      @@ProductReviewCars Oh absolutely! These weigh as much as an XSR900 but instead of a serious 115bhp the 700's only make an anemic 51bhp. I will tell anyone who wants to know that the 900 will KILL you within 2 seconds from launch! The 700 couldn't kill an 80 year old grandmother until it reaches a pathetic 60mph in around 2 hours from a standing start. LOL. Seriously? I own a 2020 XSR900 that is stock, and it will do 0-100mph runs in 4 secs and a top speed of 150mph in sixth at redline. And it gets to that 150mph so fast there is literally nothing that can keep pace with it. Nice video and it's OK for learners but I'd probably go back down the power chain to maybe 30bhp? Cheers and all the best!

    for me (a run through walls with the head guy) it was too much and many people i talked about that they share the same opinion about 650 are not learner bikes.
    a 300 up to 500 are learner bikes, for a 650 i would recommend to have at least 2 years riding expirience on a lower class bike.
    dont underestimate the power of that 650 bikes.

    • @ProductReviewCars

      I jumped on a 600cc learner bike, absolutely no issues and with no riding experience. 600cc learner bikes and 600cc unrestricted bikes are very different in Australia. So as long as you’re responsible with the throttle, you’ll have a lot of fun on a bigger bike that’s learner approved.
