She killed it. . .predictably. She has made progress in mastering more different styles recently, but hard rock, that's her bread and butter. Ridiculous it may sound, but there is no one at any age who does it better.
In a world that seems so big, and time that seems endless, Yoyo sat where Bonzo sat playing the same song, making the world smaller and bridging time from days gone by to the present. What an amazing thing to witness.

Having grown up in the 70s, I can say man that is cool. Yoyoka is a cool person and I always look forward to her drumming, whatever she’s playing, I’m watching and listening. I’m sure she appreciates where she played and the place that holds for performers, she’s earned it too. Graciously thanking the band members too. Paulie Z has a killer voice.

She handled that the very best and I assure you she out performed each and every member on that stage today from the vantage point of the lens of being there in person for the original. I'm so glad to see her spreading her wings and playing in all these different places/styles. Her social media posts from the USA seem to show someone really thriving and enjoying the wonderful opportunities coming her way. Here in Japan we are now in our 3rd year of being completely masked up both indoors and out. I really envy people overseas who can see each other smile and laugh again and am pleased Yoyoka and her Dad have the chance to experience that too while they are in the US. I am curious as to how things will work out in terms of her age/education/ musical pursuits. Being so young, I guess she couldn't study overseas by herself, but I can't see how her whole family could uproot easily to go with her. Of course, she can collaborate and perform within Japan, but the music industry here is a lot more geared towards manufactured idols rather than free spirited musical prodigies.

She had collaborated with some of the worlds best. Ian Paice has a collaboration video on his Drum Tribe web site. Also this is her second time playing at the Whisky. Pauli Z has appeared on a number of her videos. And she is no stranger to big stages having played with Fall Out Boy and Cyndy Lauper live on stage. Quite the seasoned performer is Yoyoka. When I see her play esp. on live events like these, I feel like I’m witnessing my little sister doing what she enjoys and doing it fantastically well. So proud of her. She’s becoming a fixture in this place and what an honor. Not only performing but also playing with her peers. If not only for the fact that she’s 12 (and so skilled), nobody would’ve thought that she wasn’t part of the band.
