As a naturalist the variety of marine life in this series never ceases to amaze me. Now they have a barrel-eye fish, Dunkleosteus, giant isopod and an azure sea slug
Although a lot of years passed without a new Darius, till PSP Darius Birth, then this, glad to see the series didn't miss a step. Taito's best shmup, and still stands toe to toe with Gradius and R-Type.
I need to know something, this is the 'true ending'? Probably not, because Ti2 successor, wonder what happened to her, takes down Gigantic Bite and saves the galaxy. This happens a month earlier so most likely not
I wish that the secondary guns, as well as the primary ones, were super strong like they were in Darius Twin. I know that Darius Twin for the SNES/SFC was not exactly a good port of a Darius game in comparison to Sagaia/Darius II for the Sega Genesis/Mega Drive, but it DID do that aspect of the game, meaning the guns, right, and the people that said that the OST sucked for Darius Twin honestly thought that the Darius Gaiden and G-Darius games had the best ones of the series, when, in fact, they were ironically at the bottom of the barrel. I just hate the fact that there are so damn many enemy ships that were on the screen at once in this game when a maxed out Silver Hawk from Darius Twin could have made mincemeat out of them all, and Belser would have to have left his last will and testament, as well as cashed in on his life insurance policy if there were TWO Silver Hawk ships like the ones from Darius Twin in this game AND if they could both make massive bombs, as well as control, bad guys, like they could in Darius Gaiden.
It takes practice like other games of various genre. I've been learning on the go since I bought this game. How to efficiently dodge bullets and lasers. And how to counter enemy's lasers with my own, bright more damage upon them.
Well I find this overall video extremely impressive to be able to do what he did would appear to be not even losing a life and no ever moving do as well as he did I think was incredible my favorite and gets music would be the boss and a 33-minute mark
I went into this level blind (minus the knolage of Double Claw) after beating unlocking it. Imagine my disappointment to see the true final boss of this game, the Dariusburst subseries, and as far as I'm aware the entire Darius series.... is just another instance of GTV. I had to fight GTB twice to unlock this crummy letdown of a finale, and freakin GTV was the final boss? Why not GTB? Heck, I would have been satisfied with a refight with the final boss version of Gigantic Bite. Heck, buff up Double Claw's health into oblivion and give him a theme of a late game boss, that would have been a more climactic battle.
tbf, this level is meant to be a bonus rather than a grand finale. Kyokkuho is chronologically not the last ever battle in the Burst's storyline, either. (Suriaha is.)
There is one other thing that would have a HUGE benefit to this game and that is the ability for a Silver Hawk to attract power ups to itself, as most touhou games have this feature, and it is long overdue for a game franchise such as this one.
+Staley Mad Yeah, that's exactly how you unlock it. I wouldn't say it's worth the grind just to get this mission. But if you're a completionist and enjoy CS mode then why not.
How to change the laser turret direction in PC version? And how to make the counter laser like you? Sorry,I'm a new player in PC version.I just bought the game 2 days ago.
Once you've put down a fixed burst, it will change direction once you stop firing your standard shot - if you're using formula or legend, then the burst will rotate slowly away from your ship, but if you're using next it will rotate faster and towards you instead. To counterburst, you can either stand in front of the path of the boss's laser before it fires, wait until it does the 3 pings, then press the burst button immediately on the third one - the timing's pretty strict though You can also wait until the boss has already fired its burst, then move into it and fire your own burst almost instantly after You can see the guy in the video do both these methods But also, for the murakumo and genesis ships, you don't need to worry about timing at all, just fire your burst at any point and it will automatically counter the boss's - part of why murakumo is a really good ship for beginners Hope this helped, I know this is a fairly old comment but just in case anyone else was also stuck on these
I dont understand this game mechanism.. How did the player ship didnt destroyed when struck by enemies giant laser.. This game have an amazing bgm, kinda jazz music, especialy on the first stage..
Not sure if it still is, but the game is worth the price of admission one way or another. It has absurd amounts of content. A bunch of different ships, endless missions, and more. Whether on sale or full price, this game definitely warrants playing and deserves as much support as it can get.
There's a technique to it when you're using the newer ships. As I recall, you either graze the beam before finding your own to intercept it, or time it right and block the emitter like Bugs Bunny sticking his finger in a gun barrel. There's a page on Steam about it somewhere.
I know, if they're going to go all out I'm surprised they didn't make it Crimson Nightmare and GTB. But to be fair if they did that, having Savage Ruler and Gigantic Bite you'd be pretty much dead by then if you're using any other ship rather than Murakumo
It has more or less good ost... but frankly speaking, this saga didn´t age well... geez, the bosses of Darius G looked waaay more menacing and colossal than this ones. And it was a game of ps1
Most shoot'em ups look that way, until you play them. This only looks easy 'cos the player knows exactly what is going to happen, well before it actually happens.

yeah its really good. just a shame that they didnt port the capture mechanic from g-darius :(

@@ownageDan ...and Darius Gaiden before that game.
I would've agreed but then I saw R-TYPE Delta and I beg to differ.
I love the song on the 1 stage. Sounds like something you'd here in a Jazz club.
True.... true....
Honestly, I kind of find it a mix of something that would be from the Cowboy Bebop OST and a classic Yes album, RoninOmega7.
name song?

G.T.V probably means Get This Vibe because this SDTK rules.
This series is so fun. Savage ruler is crazy (I guess to back up Million Knives)
G.T.V = great thing violet
This mission is such a damn nightmare. Savage Ruler immediately followed by Gigantic Bite is just like a giant FUCK YOU from the developers.
For some reason, I want to go to red lobster

Gigantic Bite is a freakin' Dunkleosteus
jesus christ savage ruler's ost is insane
Pretty cool! Double Claw does not hesitate to use burst...
Bubble Bobble up your ass man. Fucking bubbles, how does a ship get damaged from bubbles?
@@gaminggoof1542 , did you ever experience the Acid Bubbles from Super Mario World?
There were a lot of ways they could have turned up the heat for this, but I guess the intention was to be more of a victory lap.
I'm pretty sure Gigantic bite in this mission has like twice as much health as he should because he seems far too resilient.
I saw a report that Crimson Nightmare appears in Rikai area, alternative route.
+Machariel Yep, it's the last boss in Airuka and Rikai (alternate).
@@Zaarock , I wonder if the planets in Darius/Darius Plus/Super Darius/Darius Extra Version ever had names?

I always enjoyed the art style of the bosses in this game, but I seriously suck at side scrolling shooters.

Double Claw was pretty cool though. Not cool enough to be worth the grind, but cool.
tbf, this level is meant to be a bonus rather than a grand finale. Kyokkuho is chronologically not the last ever battle in the Burst's storyline, either. (Suriaha is.)

I wish they reused all the themes from Darius twin, super nova, and daruis gaiden.
