OMG, the foundation chain plus the first row of single crochet makes so much sense! It stabilizes the center and makes it easier to continue with the granny stitches. I'm so glad I found this video.
At 9:57 you say chain 3 for a corner but I thought it was always chain two for a corner. In the corner right before that you said chain 2 is why I’m confused
I just discovered your channel. All of the crochet blankets look beautiful and I can't wait to get started on one. I absolutely love this thick foundation chain on this rectangle granny ,so I think I will make this one first.
OMG WHERR HAVE YOU BEEN ALL MY LIFE 😊😊😅😅 I was taught crochet as a child left it didnt pick it up again until my 20s thrn I had my babies and I had no time between work and family. Now I am a grandma and I managed to make each of my grandbabies a lil balnket when they were born but I didn't have a clue what tension, or the weight of the in yarn or a stitch marker. That was all Greek to me. Well tutorials have been my teachers and let's say I would probably get a c right about now if I graded myself BUT I am hopeful. I followed you along with the tutorial and on h my word I did it first try! WOO HOO HUGS❤. I am ready to start the next row but I am using a variegated yarn and now I am going to cut it so I can flip my piece cause I sure don't. want it crooked. 😊. So in case I have a melt down know that your a great teacher and I'm keep up the great work. I will be back as Arnold Schwarzenegger would say 😅 I know I am a nut a happy one though 😊
I have tried granny square so many times, but this is far the easiest way of explaining on how to start the foundation. This is my next blanket/bedsheet coming really soon! Thank you!
The first color you did a chain 2 to form your corner spaces. The second color you did a chain 2 forming that first corner but from then on you were using a chain 3 when making your corner spaces. So which should it be when making the corners: a chain 2 or a chain 3 ?
I love doing granny cluster bandanas and I am starting a blanket for my aunt tonight, so I’ll be trying this out with the chenille yarn that she picked out!
Such a lovely pattern. How do we proceed from row to row if we are using variegated yarn and not cutting off after each row? Would you just slip stich to the first corner space and continue the pattern? Thank you
Thank you for sharing, I'm new to crochet 😊 and found this tutorial easy to follow and not complicated thank you again looking forward to finishing the blanket ❤ x
This is absolutely beautiful. I was looking for a different pattern and came up on this one. It's great and I love the being and I like how it comes out so strong and the shape is lovely. I didn't think it would work with two differences yarns, but it did. Thank you for sharing!!!!😊
sorry to say but 3 three and the change of color left me lost as if there is a missing step if one wanted to just carry on with one color. got the last corner done, chain 3 and joined...then I was lost. experimenting isn't working so well lol. I love this pattern so I need to perfect it lol my gifting list is long! 😅
