Glad to see the channel growing. Keep up the good work. video, editing, post video setup breakdown👌 Cannot wait for Steelhead season! I'm already going through gear and tackle.
I used to target whitefish in front the Dam. I used a very long fly rod as they are hard to keep on the line in all that current. The last time I fished up north I fished round whitefish aka Menominee. When the Mayflys hatch if you fish the east side of the bridge in about 25-30 FOW using wax worms. Tight lines great video and a very unique place to fish.
Great video Chiefz sweet ass fishy u caught🤝❤️ At 5:00 them flies are called May Flies here. It’s a beautiful fly and very good for fishing! Also love how you went through the fishing gear setup 😁
Love the Atlantic coverage and wish for more! Fished them in Maine and Adirondacks of NY. Ounce for ounce you just can't beat them. If I may...where abouts and when was this vid? Excellent description of your used set up. Tight lines.
We love whitefish, need more whitefish videos A.S.A.P . Love from Canada 🇨🇦. Come down to lake Simcoe in Ontario. Huge whitefish so thick that their heads look disproportionate to their body, we call them peanut heads
This fishery is god awful. Saw two fish caught all day between 20 boats. Drove 10+ hours because of this video and was excited to get an Atlantic. What a waste of time.
@@Chiefz appreciate the reply. I actually do guide myself and have had many years of experience. I do appreciate that every place is new and has its own tricks. Especially the fly tying set up you guys are running out there. But when you spend 12 hours and watch 20 boats net two fish. It’s not an issue that I didn’t catch any. I lost one on a blade bait, trying something different. being said, nobody that day at all caught fish and the locals I talk to were boasting about how it’s a world-class fisheries and showed me his best day where he caught one salmon. I didn’t realize a best day there was 1 fish. There’s plenty of other places I’ve been through where even if you’re not catching fish at least you have some confidence in the fishery because you get to see everyone else around you catching fish. There was none of that. 95% of the boats came empty-handed and only one guy out of everybody caught two Fish. I just wouldn’t like everyone seems to call it. It’s just regular tough fishery. Maybe the timing was wrong, but I was genuinely shocked by how little fish were caught and did not see more than two fish all day swim in or near the tunnels.
@ZenBJJ10p I can respect that. Not too sure how early you came, but I had a great week up there. Several double digit days between me and my buddy. They were also doing maintenance on the dam killing the flow to 95% of the tubes. If you weren’t there when they were on you definitely weren’t going to catch a fish. Some people knew the schedule where they left them on, some didn’t..
Summer Atlantics are so beautiful, great video bro love the camera work

I’ve got the same 14’ StarCraft. Not a lot of those little boats with a true V hull all the way to the transom.

Thought I’d seen every damn in Michigan. Guess not. Don’t recognize that one.
Every damn dam!
Yo, nice video.
Thank you 👊🏼
What costas do you have on?
Not sure tbh. Just looked up their website and it seems to be the Fantail model?
Would using a couple of 3 way swivels work for that rig or be more time consuming/unproductive and intrusive to the fish?
Yes, but if you run your line to line connection with a swivel instead it’s just rough on your guides
Where is this place?
where is that boat launch located?
Any idea of water temperature?
Negative
@@Chiefz What was the date of this excursion?
I suggest catch and release, atlantic salmon aren't endless!!! traditional fly fishing isn't practiced near the dam?
They are in michigan though...they stock a shit ton
Fishing was insane before people from outta town put pressure on them
Cool video fishing my backyard .. new subscriber. thanks for the entertainment 👍🔥🔥
Awesome thank you!!
Yeet. First
Legend 👊🏼
Where is this river if you don't mind me asking?
This isn't a moose video...

@@Chiefz it's gotta be within 70!...gotta be!
@@Chiefzis that su st marie ?? That bridge is so beautiful and old looking

Chiefz terrible blowing out spots or adding pressure to already busier spots.
Fished all over michigan.. first time seeing this damn soooo hes not really blowing up anything because im clueless as hell to where this gem is
There aren’t any secret spots anymore.
Damn : curse
Dam : structure to hold back flowing fluids.
I'm sure everyone appreciates you blowing this location.. absolutely ignorant
This spot is already all over youtube. Everyone already knows...
Surprised to see ya keeping thise atlantics
Usually I’m catch and release, but these taste great and I eat them throughout the winter. Still let a lot go on this trip
