​Beautiful Torch Lake in Michigan’s Northern Lower Peninsula has a reputation for being a destination for those who like to party hardy. Perhaps that is true, but in April you won’t find many boats rafted up on the sandbars. What you will find are a dedicated group of anglers who know that the gin clear waters of Torch Lake are also their best chance of catching the ultimate “bucket list” fish. Thanks to the Michigan DNR, Torch Lake is stocked regularly with Atlantic salmon that grow quick, fight hard and are second to none on the table.
