The stitch pattern is a bit difficult to see in this video, so I made a tutorial using a lighter yarn. Check it out here: ua-cam.com/video/WePvef5Voos/v-deo.html
Thank you for a great pattern! This will be perfect for a baby blanket, no holes for their little fingers to get stuck in!!! Nice and thick for winter!! And maybe a scarf, or maybe an Afghan or actually, this would be a nice thick dish cloth!! Time to think about stocking stuffers!!!
Thank you. If you find it hard to see the stitches because of the darker color, I've made another stitch tutorial using a lighter yarn. The link is in the description box below the video (click on "... more"
Thank you for your easy to follow tutorial. I made one for a gift for my cousin and she loved it! I am glad that I was able to come across your video. 😍
Thank you very much for this video. I made it successfully by following your tutorial. It's a great present. Again, thank you very much and I wish you good health. God Bless you!

I'm sorry you couldn't see the stitches very well. I do try to explain the steps in detail as I go along. I see I could have shown the work better as well. Thank you for your feedback, I will try to show everything better in future videos. Merry Christmas :)
@@dcinrb8538 Oh my! Well, sending you healing energy too! All the best with your new vision...I'm sure it will be much better once you've healed and adjusted. :)
it is a little harder to work in the back bump when you work with velvet.I have been trying to find a good scarf pattern but i want to work with the velvet.this is beautiful and is great for beginners.ty
ooooohh...velvet! That must be so lovely! Yes, I could see that would be a bit challenging as I would think the velvet doesn't have much stretch. But it must look so pretty! 😀
Wasnt hard to follow ive just whipped this up for my daughter as its getting colder as vouldnt find a scarf i liked my question is have you got a matching hat pattern and what is the stich called thanka for the tutorial
Yes, absolutely! It would look interesting with the pattern going in the other direction. Just make your foundation chain the length you desire, using an even number of chains, and follow the pattern as directed. Working the pattern in this way, you'll probably have a foundation chain of around 200 stitches, and will do at least 14 rows of the v-stitch. Enjoy!
I just finished the scarf, my first ever! Love the pattern! Question, one side of the scarf has 20 stitches and the other 28. The side with 20 was the chain. Have no idea how to do tassels!
The last row of single crochets is done by skipping every third stitch to get the stitch count back to 20. You are eliminating the ch1 of the v-stiches if that makes sense. See 12:30 of the tutorial. Instructions for the tassels start at 14:40.
@@createandcrochetwithpatricia thank you, somehow I missed that last instruction of finishing the last row. Easily fixed by adding one extra row. Thank you so much for your prompt reply. I can’t wait to use this stitch in other projects.
Check in the comments below the video (click on ... more" and there is a link to the pattern in a lighter yarn. It says "CROCHET: Half Double Crochet V-Stitch
I'm not exactly sure what you mean, but this video is a bit hard to see the stitches. I made a new one with a lighter yarn and that may help you see how to do the stitch more clearly. Here you go: ua-cam.com/video/WePvef5Voos/v-deo.html
It could be a couple of things...you may be adding too many stitches, so make sure the row starts and ends with just one half-double-crochet on each end, with 9 v-stitches in-between. It could also be your tension and I have a tutorial on proper crochet tension here: ua-cam.com/video/PxAVTN_T3mk/v-deo.html Hope that helps!
If it curves along the straight edge, then you want to be really careful how you begin and end each row...you may be skipping or adding a stitch. If the fabric is curling, then it could be your tension. Check out this tutorial: ua-cam.com/video/PxAVTN_T3mk/v-deo.html Also, some yarns have a lot of twist in them and blocking the fabric once the project is done can resolve that issue!
My constructive criticism on this tutorial…. Please use a lighter color of yarn for future projects. The dark yarn makes it very difficult to see where you are working past row 2.

Each chain stitch has 3 parts, the two "v" stitches that face you and a back bump when you turn it over. The v stitches are quite obvious. Here is another video that shows it a bit more clearly. See the 3:06 minute mark on this video... ua-cam.com/video/WePvef5Voos/v-deo.html

Hi, Great video...can the pattern be done "length" wise instead of "width"? Or does the pattern not work that way? Thanks
Yes, absolutely! It would look interesting with the pattern going in the other direction. How many rows can finish this scraf
See 12:00 in the video...it is also in the written directions...
I just finished the scarf, my first ever! Love the pattern! Question, one side of the scarf has 20 stitches and the other 28. The side with 20 was the chain. Have no idea how to do tassels!
I ended up with 9 half double crochet V stitches throughout the entire scarf. Did I do something wrong.
The last row of single crochets is done by skipping every third stitch to get the stitch count back to 20. You are eliminating the ch1 of the v-stiches if that makes sense. See 12:30 of the tutorial. Instructions for the tassels start at 14:40.
That is the correct amount...9 hdc V-stitches sandwiched between a ch 2 at the beginning of each row and 1 hdc at the end of the row.
@@createandcrochetwithpatricia thank you, somehow I missed that last instruction of finishing the last row. Easily fixed by adding one extra row. Thank you so much for your prompt reply. I can’t wait to use this stitch in other projects.

I really like this but I can’t get mine to be straight. It curves!😢I think it’s finally straightening!!
