Thank you so much for this detailed instruction video. I am a disabled mom of 4 kiddos and have decided to make some holiday gifts for all my children. I am a beginner to the art crochet and you made it so easy to follow alomg. Yarn can be found at goodwill so it is a very economical option for me. Also my kids range from 17 to 8 so this will be wonderful for them all.
This is an old video, but I really just wanted to say thank you. I watched a bunch of other videos, read tutorials, and you're the only person that made this make sense. Your voice is very soothing and calm, and you clearly explain each step. I gave up on crocheting years ago and decided to hit my yarn stash to try to make my son a scarf for Christmas, and now people want me to MAKE THEM ONE! I'm actually enjoying crocheting now because of this video. Thank you. 💜
When I was like 12, me and my sister used to crochet a lot bu I have not crocheted since my teens. I've made dollies and a skirt that I actually wore to high school. Now that I'm a full blown adult, lately, crocheting has popped in my mind and that's what brought me here reminding myself how to do it. I cannot wait to go out and buy some yarn and needle. Thank you for your assistance.
Thank you for this video. I used to crochet years ago when my children were little. My granddaughters asked me to crochet a scarf. You are a great teacher, and I was able to understand and follow your instructions. 😊
Never would have occurred to me to buy such a colorful yarn, but after seeing this, don’t think i can go back to solid colors. I’ve made 3 of these quick easy scarves in as many days! Thanks for making it so easy to follow!
First off, I LOVE these videos! So easy to follow and Jennifer has such a great attitude and so much energy, it makes me WANT to do the project! I am almost a quarter of the way through my scarf, but I kept doing that final stitch of the row into the turning chain, thinking that you were supposed to do that with every row. My scarf is beautiful, but I have holes on either side from doing that. It is the first thing I have ever made, so it's not going to be perfect, but I am a little bummed. I'm too far in to start over, but I'm such a perfectionist that it is driving me nuts now!
This video was amazing and super helpful! I just finished my scarf (one solid color) and it came out beautiful. Now I don't know whether to gift it to someone or keep it for myself, lol. Thanks for posting this tutorial!
Thanks so much for your wonderful videos and patterns, I really like your tutorials a lot. I have started making this scarf, which is my first crochet project, and am really loving it, it’s really making me feel more confident doing crochet (I learned knitting first, but always had a mental block with crochet). You have really helped me, and I’m pleased with this scarf so far. I’ll share a photo of my completed project.
Awesome tutorial. I made this scarf and it turned out great. I love the way you teach! I’ll be making more of your projects. I’m a beginner and this is great!
you can avoid those large, uneven holes by doing an extra double crochet when you get to the end ... this also give it a nice even line along the sides of the scarf ... :)
Made this with a solid color, simple to follow and turned out very nicely. Will be gifting it to my friends daughter for her 10th birthday 🥳 she. Thank you
Great job, Jennifer. This is a perfect project for teaching someone how to crochet. Love the scarf, love how descrivtive you are, and I especially love how soothing your voice is as you are describing hed to crochet the scarf stitch by stitch. Awesome job, as always, Jennifer! :)
Thank you for answering me. I kept the yarn but I'm learing I made a lot of mistakes. I found it easy to put 2 dubbles in one hole. I have to start over. Its so beautiful I want to keep at it. Thanks again Marie
Really good video. Love the yarn. Thanks for explaining everything. Ive been trying to do this but it never came out good. Going to try this immediately.
I have been able to do the chain st for 2 yrs but that's all the farther I've come...no real life help whatsoever but after my Christmas knits I'm going to settle down good & work on this...nothing else till the day I die! haha (seriously) I love it...so pretty thanx :)
im starting to pick this up again and omg its kinda hard for me but i will get the hang of it soon next project a blanket with simple stitching and i hope things go well with this
Thank you for posting this video. I've been crocheting almost 3 years now and I started with the harder stuff like hats and jellyfish. That meant, when it came to scarves I couldn't make anything straight. One side was too small compared to the other side.
Thank you! I'm making a scarf right now. Had a few false starts but it's going well. The only bad thing is that the edges are a little uneven and i have to stretch the scarf out. Not sure if I'm accidentally skipping stitches or varying how stiff I hold each stitch.
Thanks for this great video i am very new to crochet and i am making this scarf with two colors my sides are a bit uneven LOL 😊 but i am sure the even sides come with practice
Ms Jennifer, I really enjoyed your beautiful video! That yarn is really pretty-- I really love those colors! I want sooo much to learn how to crochet!--I've gotten me some crochet hooks!! What kind of yarn is that?....and are those the only colors? You're a really nice person, and a wonderful teacher!! I really enjoy and appreciate your beautiful video-thank you so much!!
Hi, not sure how old this video is, love the scarf I’m making one now for my granddaughter, however I’d love to know what prevents your scarf from folding up on the sides once your finished? I’ve had this problem with several I’ve made. Thank you
I forgot what it’s called but there’s a method of like soaking your finished piece into hot water and shaping it and letting it dry. I recommend you look into that.
Why is my scarf getting narrower and narrower with each row that I do? Figured it out...I was skipping the first hole like she said to do but was not double crocheting in the three chain at the end! After I fixed, the scarf turned out beautifully!
If you are having trouble with this video, I would watch Simply Daisy’s “How To Crochet For The Absolute Beginner” It works much better because she goes slow and gives you the basics.
I'm curious about something...I am on my first Double Crochet project and but, what I was wondering was about connecting 2 balls of yarn. Is it possible to knot the yarn together and just continue to crochet just as you did towards the beginning of the video when you came across the knot that the company had used to connect a possible broken end? It seems like it would be easier than weaving the ends in because then you wouldn't ever have a chance of the tails coming out when washing.
After you do the first set of doubled loped chain links, you move 4 in, and then after you do that set do you go four down again or just the next one thats there??
It is generally three, as the ones you chain at the beginning of every new round, but I tried with four, as she says, and it doesn't seem to make any difference 😉

Nice Demonstration. Love this one!

Did you chain 1 before starting the next row?

Wow! The yarn is so beautiful it doesn't look like a beginner project. It almost gives a hand dyed appearance. Where did you get it?
It's at Joann's & can't wait to get some & try this! :)
Kathy Tincler I just went to Joann, Michael's and AC Moore and only Michaels had it.
I'm glad you found it! I've seen it at Joann's only a couple of months ago but had no plans for it...till now haha

really beautiful my friend. do you make and sell these scarves?
Love your video! So if I am correct, you double crochet into the last whole a row below to turn around & make it more sturdy?
This is the first crochet tutorial I've found without an absolutely grating voice.
Loved this, this was really easy to make 😍 thank you
Loved your video I learned a lot 👍👍👍👍😁😁 Thank you so much!!

Hi I am just wondering if you could use this pattern for a scrap blanket
Can you please tell me where you got those beautiful scissors 🌸
Not the point!!!
@@knowthesecretwell shut up
Love it...you do the job so well!!
What is the approximate length of the yarn you have used for this beautiful scarf ?
I absolutely love everything you do! Thank you so much for all your hard work and videos!
Beautiful! Where can I get that yarn?
Nicole Castle Amazon sells it.
At Michael’s
When you first go into the next stitch, are you just going under one loop or through both of the yarns of the V?
Hi. Did u use both skeins and also if so how many yards is the skein each?
So mine didn’t end up as pretty and I added rows and took some away I don’t know how. I did just start 3 days ago but this is sooooo pretty!
I’m making a scarf for my mom and my grandma and it going well but mine is pretty small but I hope it turns out well
Why is my scarf getting narrower and narrower with each row that I do? Figured it out...I was skipping the first hole like she said to do but was not double crocheting in the three chain at the end! After I fixed, the scarf turned out beautifully!
Very nice!! How much yarn have you used? How many meters?
I have a question about your pattern how long will it take to stock pile about 300 scarves in two years since I can make them in three or four days
If you are having trouble with this video, I would watch Simply Daisy’s “How To Crochet For The Absolute Beginner”
It works much better because she goes slow and gives you the basics.
Beginners, pull the yarn from the center when you start a project. Don’t start from the outside.
I don't pull from the center. It's always such a mess. I start from the outside.

Beautifull teaching💫
your written instructions say the first double crochet is on the 3rd ch from hook, your video says 4th ch from hook, does it make a difference?
It is generally three, as the ones you chain at the beginning of every new round, but I tried with four, as she says, and it doesn't seem to make any difference 😉
Also, I didn't notice you wrote some time ago, my answer is pointless, I'm sure you've already figured it out 😁
