When I do this my fibers end up folding in half around the metal teeth. Is that normal? How can I fix it?

My thoughts...Is the fiber too long? If so try another method like drum carding or combing. ~Shiree

My fibre doesn't behave like that. It sinks into the teeth and then it's difficult to remove.

Don't give up. Try a different fiber. Get with others that know how to hand card and see if they can offer advice.
