I’m looking at a 2011 charger 5.7 and I have a 2010 charger, so all i would have to do is change out the timing cover, then take out the pulley and change the power steering pump location to the 2010 location
Hi I have a 2012 dodge charger 3.6 the motor when out but l also have a 2011 dodge charger 5.7 hemi but is all wheel drive do the motor can be swap with no problem or there stuff that I have to change. Can you please let me know thanks 🙏 😊
Am I missing something??!! Im not here to bash believe me I know how these jobs are. But here it comes! At 3:34 you say most of the work is on the bottom, you remove one transfer case bolt and whallah motor is out!! I'm assuming there may be a few steps missing for first timers🤔 I always say I'm going to start making videos, maybe today I'll start with pulling an engine from a charger!! Camera is a pain in the ass tho😂 . I did enjoy the video tho, keep up the good work!!
I got a 2010 charger need a motor now found a 2012 Chrysler motor just wondering if it plug and play I have the parts from my charger like alternator power steering pump etc etc even air box
I have a 2.7l engine in my 2009 dodge charger I want to swap it out with a more powerful engine but I don’t want to pay a lot of money. I heard a bigger engine would require a bigger transmission, new ignition and ecu, engine mounts, is that true????
First thanks for posting this video. I have subscribed. I have 2008 Rt the needs a motor and trans I have purchased a 2014 5.7 . I know the wiring harness is different but would i have to reprogram the existing ecm in the 2008 to the 2014? 2. the trans is from a 2013 charger with the 3.6 vvt will that trans hold up under the 2014 5.7.
I know I'm not the poster of this video, but I just have a couple things to mention on this for you. Firstly, as far as I'm aware, those gen 3.6 and 5.7 motors have the same transmission and possibly the same mounting. The problem is the difference between the 08 ecu and the 14 engine, since, in 2010, the 5.7 got vvt, which your 08 ecu won't account for and could possibly damage the engine built to vary the cam lift. I'm not entirely sure the ramifications of that swap, but I do recommend posting to forums and asking questions just due to the vvt being factored in. Good luck on your swap!
I have a 2014 charger rt it got a brand new 5.7 hemi and the new hemi “blew out “ now there putting mother brand new hemi in it cause the warranty what could be the cause man.
Made my day hearing you say your gonna put the headers on
Haha yeah it sounds really good with them.
Pause

Now you got me interested in Mopars.
I love Mopars, this platform is great because of how long it’s been made and how interchangeable the parts are across years.
I've become obsessed ever since I bought my '07 Pursuit I wnna swap to a 6.4 sometime.

My favorite 3/8 impact.
Pulling an engine on a 2010 challenger rt soon, hoping this is basically the same haha
@@stechmer1 It’s pretty much the same, good luck!
Thoughts on a 16 charger 5.7 engine going into a 14 charger?
I believe that is a direct fit but don’t take my word for it as I haven’t done it.

Shouldn’t be a problem.
@@coreysgarage6389 sounds good if I do decide to do it I’ll keep everyone updated
@@DHM_Mookdid you do it

Yes it’s true, you would be better off just buying an R/T, you can find them pretty cheap.
@@coreysgarage6389 dang man that’s bad news thanks for giving me clarity tho…..
Could I put an charger 2014 5.7L hemi engine in my 2007 5.7L hemi charger without an issue? Or just change the ecm and harness?
Hey I’m wondering the same
no has to be a 05-08 5.7

Have you ever installed a charger engine in a ram 1500
I have not, I think it should work though.
Can I put a 08 5.7 into a 2011 pursuit 5.7 dodge charger
I wouldn’t recommend it, the eagle heads didn’t come out until 2009, so it would be a down grade.
How long did it take?
Will engine drop out the bottom
Yep
