Tires go BOOM!
There is a lot of talk about China Bomb tires in the camper groups. I have a tire explode on my 2022 Forest River camper recently and wanted to share a bit of honest information on what happened. The Castle Rock tires that came on my camper were under inflated and had a 75 MPH speed rating. These 2 facts likely led to the tire exploding. I have purchased GoodYear Endurance tires to replace the Castle Rocks mostly due to the 87 MPH rating and will do a better job of maintaining proper pressures.

Replacing the AC compressor in my Mopar 11 Charger
Переглядів 4,3 тис.Рік тому
Continuing to improve my flood project Mopar 11 Dodge Charger. The AC compressor sounded horrible and a replacement was cheap enough to just go ahead and replace it. The job went much better than I expected!
My Mopar 11 Charger is ready to go!
Переглядів 301Рік тому
It’s been a fair amount of work to get to this point but I think it was worth it. First I had to remove the interior and the body harness. I then converted a harness from a Chrysler 300 to work with the Mopar 11 Charger, installed it, scrubbed the interior and reinstalled it, changed various electronic modules and more…

I finally got the body harness all sorted out and installed. The engine sounds great and fired right up. Next up is to clean and install the interior.

Installing RWD wheels on an AWD Charger
Переглядів 2,2 тис.Рік тому
Some say you can't put RWD wheels on an AWD Charger, that they won't fit, "Things" won't work. I have seen other people do this already so I thought I would give it a try as there are not many good options for the AWD cars. They look great! They do poke out a little in the front but I can live with it for sure.

Dodge Charger R/T engine replacement
Переглядів 15 тис.Рік тому
I was able to buy a good running 2010 Charger R/T from Copart for $1700 including fees. In this video I remove the engine from the donor car and install it into the 2011 Charger with long tube headers and a 6.4 intake manifold. Along the way I discovered some differences between the 2010 and 2011 engine that might be helpful to others.
Finding an engine for my 2011 Charger R/T project
Переглядів 1,6 тис.Рік тому
The 6.4 Hemi engine in my Charger project was damaged worse than I had hoped. Plan B was to drop in a 5.7 Hemi which is what belongs in the car anyway. 5.7 engines are much harder to find and a lot more expensive than I was expecting making it cheaper to just buy a complete donor car. I was able to score a good deal at Copart and now am ready to begin the transplant.
Dragged home a 2011 Charger R/T

I was looking to get an inexpensive Hemi Charger/Challenger or 300 to fix up. I sold the 300C I recently repaired and wanted a new project. I saw this abomination on FB and figured I would rescue it as it was in bad need of some love. In this video you will see that it needs a new engine or possibly to be bored out and rebuilt, haven’t decided on the direction I want to go just yet.

That gap in the headrests where you said if you could put your finger in the gap, it’s been engaged is not true. You could move the headrest back-and-forth, leaving a gap in there or removing the gap depending on where you have it at.

Hi😭😭. I did everything as described. Result after the third opening of the roof, the cylinder is ruined. The tensile force basically pulled the steel block out, tearing it away from the holes in the aluminium cylinder. So now I'm looking for a new one. Better to have a good craftsman do an overhaul than an empirical repair. It would have been too good if it had worked.

Hi Corey, seeing you do it seems like child's play! WoW! One question, you cut the cylinder at the base with a tool, but then doesn't that piece you removed have to be re-welded? Or is it not necessary because the pin guarantees the seal? Thank you very much

Thanks so much Cory!!! This fix just saved us a ton of money. We just finished and I wanted to add a few things. First we watched another video to see exactly where the 2 spring washers should fit in. We also watched a video on just taking the RAM apart...we needed to brace and hammer it out. Took a lot more force then yours did but it eventually came out. We had lost quite a lot of hydraulic fluid so when we first tested it, it still wasn't working. Watched another video on filling the fluid. We filled, put the top up and down 3 times to get rid of air and then filled to max again and put the trunk back together. Going up and down perfectly now!!!

Hey Corey, Nice job bringing that paint to as smooth as can be. What is taking away from this is not your fine sanding or compounding, it has to do with the paint itself. The metallic of the paint is not appearing to be evenly distributed. Only way to fix this is to respray it. UGH!! I know you know this and are hoping for the best. Good Video. Keep them coming. Thanks.

  • @MrCbell57
    @MrCbell57 3 місяці тому

Even though this is an older video, I can’t help from interjecting that most everything you’ve done is wrong. You need another coat or two or three of sandal primer so that when you block it out, you don’t get into the metal and you don’t expose any filler and where you don’t expose any guy, so that your whole vehicle is covered with gray no difference in anything that way you’ll have a slick body truck that the paint will lay down on and look like a very good paint job. Right now you’re gonna have waves dips and imperfections in it, which if you’ve done this much work before Not a little more 10% more to get an even better quality job because you’re the one that’s going to have to say yeah I painted it and they’re just gonna shake their head and say yes I I see but don’t ever paint my vehicle please. 320 is used after 220 then 400 then 600. If you don’t follow the steps right like you just did you’re going to have scratches at primer sealer may not cover. Unless you put it on like it’s a primer coat and then take it down to 400 then 600. you’re going to have. I understand it’s an old truck and you don’t care about it but you’re giving people the wrong information on here that they can just do it with any kind of sandpaper. Worn out sandpaper does not cut it contours. So the lumps and valleys and low places it just follows it doesn’t , flatten out a rough area. 100 grit sizes is how you take it down properly. You are also using a primer sealer when you really don’t have to. It’s not going to help if there is any moisture up underneath that truck anywhere it’s still going to bubble. It’s more expensive when if you had taken it to 600 and smooth it with the right steps there would be no reason for seal. It would all be gray and then you could use that as a solid color to base your color off of. Remind me when I say you can do whatever the heck you wanna do on your own thing but don’t broadcasted and make it look like you know what you’re doing because you’re giving the wrong information to the masses which fail to do the job right because they think you know what you’re doing When you don’t. I mean, you know what you’re doing, but you’re not teaching that. if you tell someone on here while I just did this and it worked out OK they’re going to do the same thing. Think about this meditate on it. Ask yourself why you’re busy dispensing incorrect information to the public so they get caught up in the wrong path. I’m blown away. You’re worrying about dust yet. You didn’t finish the truck properly. Oh my God help me now. Also urethane paint is not tricky. You’ve missed titled your video whether it was on purpose to make people look at it. That’s not how you dispense quality information to the public. You don’t lure them in with the sexy photo of some girls bum and then talk about pain your thing is not tricky , if anything I’d say water-based paint or enamel paint would be far more tricky if not use to it.
