So apparently Bran can not see the future. He addresses this but the contradiction in my minds eye was the vision of a dragon shadow flying over Kings Landing (I believe in season 6). Though I took this to be the future, and a shadow of one of Daenerys' dragons, it must be a vision of the past and a shadow of one of Aegons' dragons. However, the same logic addressed in this video applies. If Bran can see the past, then the moment something happens, it is now the past and can now be Glimpsed by Bran. So the best tactic for him would be to keep an eye on the hoard from the north, and Cersei Lannister......and the new love couple. Because why not? Free Porn! #Fewer

Everyone says Tyrion was angrily peeping because he secretly loves Daenerys, but I don't think that's the case. Love makes you reckless, Tyrion knows that better than most. He's afraid that both Jon and Daenerys will stop thinking objectively because of their feelings; as they both have already proven to do, like her going North with her dragons, which could've killed her (and actually killed her dragon instead.), and him openly swearing alliegence in front of a dangerous enemy. Robb made the same mistakes, as did Tommen, and now we know, so did Rhaegar and Lyanna. Love kills in Westeros.

I also believe that, since Daenarys can't have children, supposedly, Tyrion made a deal with Cersei that her child will be Daenarys successor. This gives Cersei all the incentive to let Daenarys die, Tyrion must realize this. Is he willing to throw Dany under the bus in order to stop the White Walkers, and placing a Lannister on the Iron Throne?

It might not be earth but incest is pretty looked down on in Westeros. People were aware of what centuries of inbreeding did to the Targaryens, and the series basically started because of the secret Lannister incest children. Granted, Dany is Jon's aunt and not his sister, but it's still pretty strange even by their standards. Keep in mind also that Jon is all about morals and family and stuff, finding out he banged his aunt could be a pretty big mindfuck for him
Tywin Lannister, one of the most respected lords in westeros married his cousin. And so did Ned's father (I think, I know one of the starks did). It's only siblings that's looked down upon, not cousins/uncles/aunts, etc.

I wouldn't have said that Robert was an asshole, who made up a story. Rather it was a bad move by Rhaeger to elope with his betrothed and not say anything, which basically set up all the dominoes to fall.
EuroHybrid he did made up the story though, the mad king just made it worst and believable..he was obsessed with Lynna and I think he knew the truth about Rhaegar and Lynna but his obsessed with her and we all know what obsession could do to a man..

I'm not saying it was all fan service,
but I'm a fan and I've been serviced.
Its because the core audience has risen in numbers. If you noticed just a few years ago, GOT was too nerdy for the inept 'nobody has that kind of time'. 'An hour of just talking is way too long.' Tyrion was super unpopular. Now since its being referenced in the mainstream they feel the need to sit through the previous seasons bored as hell, not understanding nuance, and come to influence the average viewership today.
HBO had to have realized the changing audience and worked with what they had to create more action and less exposition. That means more dragons, less explanation of magic, more explosions, and less backstabbing. Less realism more GIVE US WHAT WE WANT.
If you notice how much fan service there was its over the top. Little finger is evil - why not kill him? Dany is hot and single - why not turn Jon into an undead part wolfman fuckbuddy straight out of a tween movie series?
If delivering on what you built up for 6 seasons, is fan service. Then I'll have more please.

still a decent finale though, the last moment between jaimie and cersei really got me worried if she might kill him off, well played! still i have to noticed his departure reminded me strongly of zuko´s leave of the fire nation in last airbender´s mid season finale in book 3.

bran never said he can see the future. in the final he specifially said past and present. Also he can only see things when he 'looks for them. He's not all knowing like a god. More like hes the only one with access to google and can find out anything as long as he know what to search for. Thats why he didn't know about the anullment until sam told him. Then he went back to look at it.

Rhaegar was already dead when Jon was born. Naming the baby Aegon was probably Lyanna's idea.

You've unintentionally uncovered an even bigger plot hole than you thought. Baby Aegon in the books is a different character, a teenager discovered by Tyrion on his way to meet Danaerys. It seems the series originally went with that story line then forgot they had when changing it to make John Snow Aegon instead.

The rebellion didn't start when Rhaegar 'kidnapped' Lyanna, it started the moment The Mad King executed Rickard and Brandon Stark, Ned's father and brother. What they did wasn't smart, but imo, The Mad King is the 1st in the line of those to blame.

I did read the first 3 books, forgot half of it, I still know that the rebellion did not start when Rhaegar and Lyanna took off. When that happened, Brandon went to The Mad King to tell him to call Rhaegar to the Red Keep and return Lyanna to Winterfell, that insulted The Mad King, he imprisoned Brandon and demanded that his father, lord Rickard come to answer for his son's ''treason''. When Rickard arrived, he was charged with treason as well, both were executed. i liked this season, but the plot to bring cersei the dead was kind of idiotic. Tyrion of all people should have known the outcome, that his sister wouldn't give a fuck about the army of the dead. Just leave her enemies to fight them.
Why didn't they take the skeleton prisoner to the maesters? Sam said it himself, that if the maesters write out for people to fight they army of the dead, the people will do it. it seems to me that would have been the most logical group of people to convince. And maybe Dany wouldn't have thought of that because she's not familiar with Westeros culture, but either Tyrion or Jon could have easily thought of that.
To be fair though it was worth a try at least, I mean it got Jamie to help them fight the white walkers.
I loved every scene of this episode. These are the best ones imo:
1. Bran revealing Jon's/Aegons heritage
2. Night king destroys the wall
3. Arya and Sansa talks about how they miss Ned
4. Jaime leaves KL and snow starts falling
5. Tyrion and Cersei
6. Bronn and Jaime discuss the unsullied

They cut the seasons down a bit so that there's more budget per episode. That's the reason why we've had big episodes this season.
And also the 5 principal characters are now getting paid $2 million per episode.
Theyre pretty much spending 40-50 mil on just those 5 actors for the season

They began to run out of source material and it showed.
The 13 episode limit it for budget reasons. They pay the main actors like 2 million a season plus the intense CGI costs a lot of money along with the battle scenes. Kinda sucks but I'm glad we got these battles.

They could have added non-pricy intruiging scenes like they allways have.
I don't think the budget has anything to do with it. I've seen regularly on /r/gameofthrones that the 7 and 6 episode structure for seasons 7 and 8 was a compromise between the producers and HBO. D&D are said to have wanted to finish the whole story in a 10 episode long season 7, whereas HBO wanted seasons 7 and 8 to stay at 10 episodes each. I think it's clear that D&D want to move on from GoT as soon as possible to work on their next project, and the writing is sadly declining in quality because of that.

I miss how in earlier seasons, Varys and Littlefinger were always plotting and scheming against each other, and actually playing the "Game of Thrones" in secret. I also miss how before, literally any character could be killed off. This was what made Game of Thrones unique and different from other shows. After seeing Jon Snow survive over and over again, I seemed to have stopped caring. Also the logic in this season didn't make much sense and that was another great factor about GoT which they totally ruined.
Kill Jon and kill the series. I wouldn't read another book. That is for sure.
Since Jon seems to be a Targaryen, he is the living, breathing son(g) of ice and fire, so it was pretty obvious, that he is not going to die before the grand finale.
People keep complaining about the plotholes, but nobody gives examples...
Too many people are saved last minute, too many worthless characters are killed off. Would prefer nobody is killed rather than someone introduced for the sole purpose of being killed that episode. Characters breaking character, both Jon and Little finger especially. Plot build up leads to nothing - the Night king's powers and the magic behind the wall's defenses. You cant deny there are more problems than ever before.
I agree entirely. The whole hype they built up around Varys and Littlefinger was lost and it was one of the most intriguing parts of the show; both guys always having an exit strategy and a plan. They needed to write Littlefinger dumber in order for him to be brought down. I'd have sooner accepted him getting killed in a fluke or someone getting revenge than that contrived court room scene. Plus, the show runners actually lied to us with that entire false narrative. Sansa and Arya were never going to fight or kill each other it was all a red herring bullshit conflict that wasn't legit. Why the heck were those characters talking to each other like that?? What was their motive for Arya and Sansa to be like "Hey I MIGHT kill you you know... here let me flip my knife around menacingly"... Who are they putting this facade on for? Littlefinger is not even there to see it. It was transparently put there JUST for we viewers to watch and rightfully go based off of what we see that there is conflict between them. Problem was; it was all bullshit. The other problem is that were also being simultaneously NOT shown crucial information that would have actually made that scene feel like payoff. At some point Sansa, Bran, and Arya all got together and planned how to take down Littlefinger. WHY WERE WE NOT SHOWN THIS SCENE? WHY WERE SHOWN A BUNCH OF FAKE SCENES OF ARYA AND SANSA FAKE THREATENING EACH OTHER? Answer: the plot needed to kill Littlefinger and they needed to meet their "kill off characters" quota without it being anyone we actually were rooting for because - fan service. This is still one of the best shows ever but they definitely slipped up in several key areas this season. I fear for the last season honestly. I think we're going to be let down in a lot of ways.
Viruna saying literally every character could be killed off isn't true, it was early in the shows run. They had all the characters in the world to make expendable.. It gets to a point where you have the characters that matter, they have to be used properly and not just be killed off because 'this is a show where we get surprised by deaths'
Many people fell in love with Game of Thrones because of the people and not the dragons or the magic. I've always seen the dragons/undead army in the north as an aside, or as problems that certain characters have to overcome. We fell in love with the story because of moments like when Brienne and Jamie are traveling back to Kings Landing. That entire storyline took an entire season to develop, greatly increased our understanding of both characters, made many people (myself included) feel sympathetic to a character that was previously disliked (Jamie). This is what's missing from seasons 5-7. Season 6 had the plodding pace of the previous seasons but characters weren't given much to do until the finale. I will say I liked this finale more than previous episodes in the season but overall this season had little impact on the world. Arya killed the entire Frey house at the start of episode 1, which is a big deal in the Thrones universe. I understand that the threats have to "become real" but if this was stretched out we could see the implications of the house being dismantled.
I just feel as though it isn't fleshed out enough to make me care as much, and its disheartening when you really want this to be good.

As far as I know George R.R. Martin gave the directors notes on how he wants it to continue, so they can keep going without waiting for the books. So I think this is all happening to Martins will in some way. Also, Bran is not all-knowing. He didn't know about Arya travelling north, he didn't know about Sams intentions and so on. He sees a lot, but not everything.

I think it's a good thing. D and D can write really good scenes and dialouge but their dialogue really suffers if they have to do too much or as I think, they just don't care anymore. I think the eds episodes the better dialogue.

Same with Tyrion to some extent, oddly, despite him being one of the most witty and interesting characters. Bran could've been better written. A guy who is all-knowing and all-seeing won't have the same priorities as everyone else. It makes sense that his only focus is the Night King's shenanigans, but they could've better conveyed that to the audience by showing what the world would look like from his point of view: a confusing mess of mundanity and humans being selfish.
Maybe that's Why even George Martin said that Bran was the hardest to write.

The most important hookup of the entire series - the union of ice and fire - and its not even as long as the scene earlier in the season featurimg two side characters, one with no penis. Idk man just felt it should have been longer.
As someone who is watching this in Houston in the middle of Harvey right now, I just want to say thank you, Jeremy! Your videos have been a ray of sunshine between the many text messages from family and friends all around me losing their homes and businesses to floods and tornadoes. This is the fifth hurricane that I've sat through in my lifetime and this is the only one that has gotten me truly frightened. Houstonians are strong and resilient, and we WILL get through this, but every little bit helps.
If you don't want to donate to a national organization like the Red Cross, look into local businesses that are opening up their stores as shelters (Gallery Furniture and H.E.B. are two that immediately come to mind).

The amount of people who bitch and whine about this show now is so annoying. I just started watching this show over the summer and I am absolutely loving it. Yes, I think the earlier seasons were a bit stronger in narrative payoff, but overall it's still an enthralling show and I have never adored a series so much. Can people just get over themselves? I shouldn't feel like a heathen just for enjoying the new season.
There are actually a lot of valid criticisms of the writing being put forth. The series has never looked or sounded better, but the plot, characters and pacing are really suffering because D&D can't fall back on the source material anymore. GRRM has even distanced himself from the show now, whereas in earlier seasons he was closely working together with HBO and promoting the series.
I understand your point, and I think many of the criticisms are fair, I just think that there are way more people (particularly in UA-cam comment sections) who complain about the show than celebrate it, and as someone who's excited to have finally started enjoying the series, I find the blind and "lol this show sucks now" style criticisms to be very obnoxious.
It just seems like people find a lot more reasons to complain about something than to appreciate it.
I think it's just mostly people who have been with the series for a very long time tend to feel like it's falling into the Fan Service etc, but nonetheless is still think it's a very good show and hope that the last season pays off.
I think there are a couple things people are not seeing
1. They think this "problem" is bacuse of D&D stupidity but they don't think about the fact that our dear George Martin has part of the fault, this is his story and it's taking it so long for him to finish it, if they want to blame someone they must remember this.
2. They also forget that everything has an end, and they like it or not this is going to that end, this is the way the show took and will take.
Some people want more action and some don't some people want characters to die and some don't some people want more argue and some... And they still don't understand what kind of show this is.
Finally all caught up. It has been great to watch the Jeremy videos as I finish each season. Can't wait to see where it all ends!!
