Dude, I think you’re awesome! I am a former US soldier with over 10 years in service. About 20 years ago my home was broken into by a meth addict who I subsequently cracked in the head with a Louisville slugger. As it turns out this method was a criminal informant for the local PD. Even though I was a soldier at the time, they attempted to charge me with felony assault even though I was defending myself in my own home. As a result I was convicted of a felony when I pled no contest due to the enormous pressure I was under, as well as my lack of adequate legal representation. Even though there was no firearm involved in the incident, My right to bear arms has been stripped, even though I was in the military at the time, and allowed to continue my military service until my contract was completed. Information like this is helpful to guys like me. And there’s a lot of guys like me out there. Thank you for helping us… we need more guys like you!

I agree with you. My brother is a convicted felon because 18 years ago he fell into deep depression. Lost his job lost his apartment lost his car lost everything. When he got evicted he had nowhere to go being in a state with no family around. He went to a car dealership and "test drove" a car and never brought it back. He lived in it for about a week then drive back to the state where most of his family lived. Him being the hardened criminal of course he kept driving the car with the dealer plates on it and never got pulled over but when he got a new job a cop saw the plates in the parking lot and ran them and thats how they caught him. Even though it was his first charge ever because he drove across state lines with a stolen vehical and the price of the car was over $10k they upgraded the crime to Grand Theft auto which is a felony and his idiotic public defenders told him to accept a plea deal where he plead to the felony and got 9 months probation. Lawyers we talked to since are flabbergasted they told him to plea. Anyways he's been trying to get the felony expunged for years and it a real pain in the butt.
He made a serious mistake but he is not a career criminal and 99% of his life hes been a law abiding productive citizen who would give a stranger the shirt off his back if they needed it. People like this are not uncommon in the system because our legal system is set up to punish not to rehabilitate.

There are many like me who made some poor choices when we were younger and paid our debt to society, and have changed our lives around and kept out of trouble ever since. It just doesn't make sense to strip someone of their rights to self protection for life because they made some mistakes in the past. Not all of us are violent irredeemable monsters, in fact not even a plurality. However the stigma society has applied to people like me would certainly have you believe otherwise...

@@z0m92 unfortunately, facts don’t care about feeling or opinions. The second amendment is very clear. Actual gun crimes or hurting children? Yeah maybe we can keep it the way it is with those guys but the thing is, just because there’s laws in place doesn’t mean the violent ones will follow so it really doesn’t even make sense to have those laws in a way. The people that break laws are going to do it regardless.

I am a convicted felon. I have been in the US Army Reserves, worked for the Department of Defense as a civilian and even as an escort on a security detail for this company that provides security to the children of the wealthy, at least much more rich than myself 😂. I say all of this to share that it is absolutely foolishness that I cannot but a weapon due to a conviction at 19 for an unregistered firearm. I hurt no one. Robbed no one. Didn't want to hurt anyone. Someone that i considered a friend got angry with me when I decided to remove him from my inner circle circle of true friends and decided to call the police and report I had an unregistered weapon at my house. The police literally surrounded a Rite Aid I was in. They arrested me in the parking lot with about 9 or 10 officers. They went to my house took the weapon I had and while they were at it took my mother's weapons. (They did return her's later). Meanwhile, I watch these crime shows on the ID channel and see people commit insane crimes but not receive anywhere near the attention and urgency that was placed on someone minding their own business. I ended up pleading guilty to avoid making my mother use her hard owned money because of my foolish decisions. So, now I am 40. Have never been in trouble since, not even a traffic violation, but I am forever barred from owning a firearm even after the more than model career and life that I have lived ever since. I will never understand how the justice system works. It often seems like they destroy the wrong people and give losers a pass. I know of a couple guys in and out of prison since i was a teenager yet they are given chance after chance. My mom always told me to take pride in being a man that faced his wrongs and made them right. And I definitely do. But I can't say that I sometimes wonder why it seems like the good guys always lose lol. Anyway, I just shared this to see how many others have the same experience.

I love that air guns are unregulated in the US. They are so much fun to plink with and ammo is cheap and plentiful (mainly for the smaller calibers). Also makes a great choice for small game, the shots are so quiet that the impact sound from the pellet is often louder than report of the rifle. Best part is you can ship them straight to your door ordering online. Unlike traditional firearms which have to be transferred through a FFL dealer

I agree that it would be interesting to see but if you research a bit futher you'll actually discover that only 53 fpe is needed to penetrate a thick skull. The US army's threshold for a lethal shot is 58 FPE. This monster does between 100-150 fpe so that's almost three times more than the threshold for lethality....

I agree that after a person dies their sentence and completes their parole or probation they should get their 2nd amendment rights back. The fact is around 80% of all prisoners are back inside within a year. So if someone can do their sentence and parole/probation and not go back inside that time, they deserve their rights restored.

This us definitely not the case for all states. Each state is different in following state or fed. laws. Some can own rifles after a certain time, some never, but black powder or muzzle loader isn't just a pass for all felons. A friend of mine got arrested for a cheap, aluminum novelty pair of brass knuckles that were in his car... not during a crime. Simply for possessing them in CA. (of course). He had no other arrests, very nice, normal guy in his 40s with a wife, 3 kids, owns a decent size business...and now can't own a firearm to protect himself & family. That is absolutely ridiculous. The law should be violent felons or repeat felons. There are so many "crimes" that can be felonies that have nothing to do with that person being a danger to anyone. Unbelievably unjust law.

Air rifle is big and impractical. Also you dont start loading guns when someone breaks in your house, you keep it loaded in safe place, you need to pump air canister on this kind of rifles too though. Air rifles operate on pressure and things like seals wear out so you need to constantly check it and pump air to be sure its full, because sooner or later it will leak out. On the other hand you just load 6 rounds in your BP revolver and put it to safe dry place, it will be ready when you need it. Also there are upgrades like slix shot nipples to make BP revolvers much more reliable.

Great video Sir. The only problem with PCP air rifles is that some will leak.( For those who don't know. it has an air cylinder that is filled... you can use a manual pump like a bicycle tire pump or use an electric one to fill the cylinder. The manual is a serious workout and SLOW I opted for the electric one and it works well, but VERY loud and takes about 3-5 minutes to fill to operating capacity) As you will fill it and hope there are no leaks and have sufficent pressure when called upon. I have the AEA hp ss in .25 and it leaks so I'm looking at the co2 pistols and an alternative. The weapon is loaded and ready to go when the gas cylinder is engaged, a much better and reliable system for home defense. With a little modification and proper ammo selection I think certain co2 pistols are a good option as well. Also, IN ALL SERIOUSNESS!! CHECK YOUR STATES LAWS ON BLACKPOWDER OR PCP WEAPONS FOR FELONS OR VICTIMS OF THE BULLSHIT DOMESTIC VIOLENCE LAWS OF THIS COUNTRY. THESE "LAWS" CHANGE REGULARLY.
