I bought the Nimbus 26 TR yesterday, gave it a run and found it to be excellent. I am no expert, but I should imagine it deserves to be in the conversation when thinking about comfort, durability and long miles. Love your videos. Much respect and thank you.
I have 500miles on my Nimbus 26. Retired them from running at 400. Just use them for walking at this point. These things are durable and very comfy. My only negative is that they run a little hot. U can find them much cheaper now that the 27s just got released.
I just went on Amazon and bought the same exact Ghost Max colorway. It was $94 and hard to pass up. I bought the Ghost Max 2 before getting the OG. The GM2 was a great shoe, but can’t wait for the OGs to arrive. Will be used for walking daily and casual wear.
New to the running thing ! Just want to say thank you loll you have walked me through my last 3 shoe buys haha. Started running in a vomero 17 have moved to the rebel v4. Ordered a pair of saucony kinvara 14 simply because of the price on sale. And now Just placed an order on the ghost max since they have started hitting the sale price ! Thanks again for your time and your reviews !
Part of the reason the turnaround is so quick, brooks had an excess of DNA Loft V2 foam. They'd already had the loft V3 in the glycerin 20 and a ton of people asked "why not v3 in a new shoe?" Part of it was "because that's what they had". They basically used the Ghost Max to get rid of their stock of loft v2 before putting loft v3 in it for the Max 2 The Ghost Max 1 was sort of a soft launch with not a lot of PR or prerelease information. The Max 2 being revealed so proper and in a timely manner before release is a hard launch in line with the rest of their established nameplates. Hopefully this cleared up some ambiguity
Appreciate you as always, but I agree my dad loves this shoe for running but when I tried his out it felt like it would be the perfect walking shoe. Another one to add to the ever growing list. Keep having fun on vaca!
I've hold off of purchasing the brooks glycerin 21, just to try out the ghost max 2 to see which one I like better. For my next walking shoe to replace my new balance 1080v13.
Couldn't agree more on not undervaluing shoes of previous years in the pursuit of the new "flashy/tech savvy" stuff. Your throwback runs (taking older shoes out for a run) inspired me to recently pull out my Brooks Hyperion Elite from a few years back. Absolutely LOVED 8 blissful miles smoothly bouncing along in that shoe - def a pleasant and welcome surprise! Side note: The Cliftons were also giving me a Homer Simpson meets the Teletubbies vibe 😂 just saying lol
Most compatible shoe for me in my current rotation. Besr for heavy runners in my opinion. Surprised that ghost max 2 is coming soon. Thought would be aroud december
I'm rocking my Asics Gel-Cumulus 26 today, all day. Did a very slow recovery run early in the morning and I got to say, it is less cushioning, but more relaxing for these kind of runs them my Gel-Nimbus 26 ! I loved this fluidride outsole of the Gel-Cumulus 26. Besides the fact the shoes are so lightweight, they are not versatile at all. This is the only negative I can say about them. Reminds me the 1080 v13 I had, but with no wobbly heel for God's sake!
I have been pleasantly surprised with the Ghost Max. Most comfortable shoe ive ever worn, just feels great and rolls nice. but doesnt feel max stack to me (maybe due to sinking feeling). Softest shoe ive ever ran in (i dont normally like soft shoes). I loved it for walking and daily training. Took it on vaca to OBX and it did great for daily miles and intervals up to 10 miles. Brought the adidas sl2 with me too and love that shoe too but the ghost max felt softer. SL2 definitely faster.
I totally agree that some shoes don't feel as great for walking and just having on feet even though they may be good running shoes. The More v4 and Nimbus 25 were pretty bad as work shoes for me because of how tired my feet felt afterwards due to the softness. I know you will be testing the Hyperion Max 2 soon. I'm curious to get your thoughts on the difference between the DNA Loft v3 and the DNA Flash v2.
NB More V4 is one of my favorites if not my favorite shoe ever! As a heavy runner and a bodybuilder I NEED a max cushioned shoe and More V4 was and still is THE CUSHION for a run! And indeed, I agree with you, as for walking or working too much softness is not good!
Hey, always awesome videos!! quick question I have strained my feet, and calves and need a super soft shoe for recovery I walk 10 miles a day and the shoes I currently have are SCT v1 and v2 SCE v4 and 1080 v13 I am looking for something softer than these for a recovery type shoe just for casual wear while I rest from all the miles usually 60 miles a week. I was looking at that new Hoka skyward I hear it's like pillows on the feet.
Good question - that's a tough one as you already have some of the softest shoes out there, especially the 1080 and sc trainer v2. The only thing I've tried that is maybe softer for walking is the Nike invincible 3. Hoka skyward x has a nice soft bounce for running but isn't the softest on step in
Yeah I have a feeling the new foam ruin it for me as a work shoe. I am in my feet for 10hrs a day on concrete and these have been the holy grail for my feet. Definitely going to snag 2 or 3 or 4 more pairs when the 1st version goes on sale.
I agree with you 💯. Not great for running but excellent for walking or working if your on your feet a lot. Mostly due to 2 keys reasons IMO… 1. The soft comfort of the foam. 2. The 6mm drop because you don’t feel like your on your heels and your toes ie like a 10mm drop shoe.
sad to see the ghost max go, it was my favourite walking shoe as per your recommendation! when you get the ghost max 2, would it be possible if you could comment on the arch or show the insole? unfortunately i have very flat arches so sometimes if it's too high it digs into my feet and the shoe becomes unusable (as with the ghost and glycerin). of course you don't have to as i know it's a bit to ask for!
Yes for sure! Will make sure to check for that arch issue and show the insole - hoping to get that one in the next few weeks/later in the summer so stay tuned
I felt like the ghost max was too firm for me and it just felt dead. I'm 125lb with a high cadence so don't know if that makes a difference. It's annoying though as I often find a lot of max stack shoes too squishy and soft so I can't win 😂.
Brooks Ghost Max are good walking/all day shoes. Nike Infinity Run 4 are even better for walking. And for a firmer feel, Saucony Exodus Ultra are my go to to give my ankles a break
@@jakutz Infinity Run upper including tongue is soft and sock like (also, the Nikes are drip). The Ghost Max sole is dense and you feel like you are on top of it and the rocker puts some strain on my calves. The Infinity Run is more flexible so it feels more natural. But I totally agree with Yowana, if your job requires you to be on your feet for 10 hours or if you are going to an amusement park, the Ghost Max work perfect for that. I also love the Adidas ultra boost light for all day wear. I do not run in any of these shoes
You get the new Hyperion max 2 in yet bro? I just got a pair and I’m really liking them. Always hated Brooks but they feel like a nice firmer speed 3 with a very premium upper. It’s early but I’m thinking it may be a banger 🔥
@@supwell yea dude I know you generally like a softer shoe tho if I’m not mistaken? Like I cannot do the 1080 or nimbus, just feels like I’m sinking. I think we are ab the same weight too.
I trust your video a lot on picking the right shoe for pace but the Alphafly 1 is seriously throwing it off. I’m not sure where it would sit as I just think it’s similar to Alphafly 3?
I talked my pair of Ghost Max up for a while before I tried some other shoes. I ran about 35 miles in them and they're my work shoes now, I'm in a banquet hall kitchen on my feet for 10-12 hours a day and they're amazing for that. There's better running shoes though, I've found out.
I just bought th New Balance More V4 and didn't realize the V5 is coming out in a month or two, smh. I think More v5 might be the best max cushion shoe cuz it's going to use the 1080 v13 foam just more of it
I will say this, if running shoes today weren’t as comfy or responsive(and doesn’t have to be high stack) I probably wouldn’t be still running…only started back when they locked up gyms where I couldn’t hoop and lift. this shoe addiction has intensified because of great foams and tech 😂

I really wanted those. But after I ran in them, the bottom of my feet got super hot
@@JeffHardyyyyy if they were sliding around wrong size shoe.
@davidbraswell1481 they 12's fit snug. No way I could go down a size.

Really love the sound your steps make when running, not the same when i'm running. Sounds like proper running form

Keep up the great work dude! Please review the Tri Noosa 15 👋🏻
Haters say it’s just a redo if the Dyad, but with the Ghost name to boost sales. I love it!
As a big track and field fan I wish you would have channelled Grant Holloway with that road block and just hurdled right over it😂

Might depend on the shoe. Some foams don't tolerate the constant compression as well as others.

Yeah, they overcomplicated the aesthetic of the Ghost Max 2.
