I'm glad I'm not the only one who sees the parallels to extraction shooters like Tarkov, because this game does something I genuinely want to see more extraction shooters do:
It lets you extract whenever you want. (As long as you have an amulet charge, anyway...)

this demo is pretty amazing. I played like 20 hours of it alone and still come back. The system already in place are loads of fun, and once variety opens up I can already imagine the possibilities.

I followed this game dev on Twitter but hadn't seen anything for a while! It came out great, thanks for showcasing it splat.
Enemy variety is something that can definitely be done 'last', but that core loop looks good.
I have never played a boomer shooter with layered billboard sprites, and the amount of them I have played would be too long to list.

Citadel, and Beyond Citadel have layered billboard sprites, to include the main character and her armor on the HUD. The demo just released, like, a month ago. High quality, and would recommend if you like this game, Quake, and Doom.

The Wakizashi is also usable as a weapon and saves you a lot of ammunition when enemies get close to you.
I love games like this where there's exploration combat loud variety at that point story would be nice but the gameplay goodness is covered already.

Rotate could also be the scroll wheel. Not saying it is, but some games with building have startedusing it for that function. And forgot to put it in the control menu so people knew it was possible. lol

I've been playing a lot of 40k tabletop in the last 6-9 monthes so I pretty much just stopped playing video games entirely but I am buying this game and playing the shit out of it when it releases, I cant wait.

This game looks fucking sick and adventure time is definitely one of the best cartoons of all time.
That "random" symbol on the walls and the logo of the game is the alchemy symbol for the chemical element Sulfur :)
This was an easy add to the wishlist, I hope you do a follow up when a bigger version drops.
Edit: I went and played the demo expecting only goblins and got jump scared by a ghost

Not my favorite aesthetic or game genre but it looks like a pretty neat game and I appreciate that they're trying something different. Seems a little unfinished like the cooking mechanics should be available to you, if not at the first cook pot at least by the second or third, and the neat little nooks that you can get to with tricky jumping are a missed opportunity for loot.
I think the most important thing is to add in all those additional objectives that make the world feel alive in that metroidvania kinda way. I think kids might but more inclined to say Hollow Knight-ish?

frankly, i think that's closer to a bergmann simplex rather than the mauser, but it's clearly more of a "general shape of these things" than actually replicating one, even cartoonily
and the thing you called a revolver despite it not... revolving... is an interesting and weird appplication of the "harmonica gun" idea.

Games with really tight-feeling platforming, even 2D ones, allow you to jump slightly after falling off a ledge. Could be an improvement for this game.
Speaking of cheese -- get some pecorino, sliced really thin, some prosciutto and wrap them around chunks of melon.
If I understand correctly, Pecorino is the un-aged/"green" (not green colored) cheese that becomes Romano when aged.

Parmigiano Reggiano is a specific kind of cheese that is made only in a small part of northern Italy. I believe it is the single most exported cheese in the world, although I might be wrong.

The key difference is one is made with sheep's milk and one is made with cow's milk,. So it is related in the way it tastes the same to me. Also, Parmigiano Reggiano comes from two different provinces in Northern Italy.
Any "parmesan" made outside of these provinces cannot be called parmesan in the same way that any champagne made outside of Champaigna france cannot be called champagne.
Parmesan made in any part of the world that is not those two different provinces in Italy is called.... Grabo Padano paisano ..
