I’ve never sewn that tiny 45 degree angle in the corner to create an accurate 45 degree triangle for the fold back. It’s the only video I’ve ever seen it in. Thanks so much for the clear directions !
Excellent job of ‘splaining’ the maneuver. You’re a pro for sure! Thank you….
I have to say I have watched a gazillion of these on utube... BUT yours is the BEST ! And luckily I have that foot. Thanks a Million !!
Great tutorial. Camera angles show exactly what a beginner needs to know to make a lovely finished product.
I love the way you did the join at the end. Perfect set up! Thank you. I do like the way you sew off at the corners to give you a guide to do the mitre, too! Thanks, Sara! Carol
I have tried various ways to attach and end binding and watched many videos. Your video by far is the most helpful and easy to understand. I just finished binding my quilt using your instructions and it looks great! Thanks.
Thank you for a simplified explanation on mitering corners and finishing the quilt. Alleluia, I won’t have nightmares and fears about the binding anymore!!
Sara is an excellent instructor. I could hear her quite well, even though I have a hearing problem. This idea for mitering corners seems quite easy, and I plan to try it on my current project. Thank you, Sara.
That was GREAT! I was rusty and needed a reminder on the details.... I REALLY wish I'd learned from you in the first place! This made it easy! THANK YOU!
I would like to thank you because this has always been a night mire for me but now I have practice your way I am no longer afraid. I love my sample.
You have by far the easiest method of mitered corners. Thank you for your wonderful video.
I forgot to mention that your starting and stopping of the binding is also the easiest I have seen. Perfect.
A very clear visual aid to doing the binding on a quilt. Thank you Sara.
A simple and fantastic way to bind a quilt! Thank you.
I used this technique when sewing a tote bag. Great tutorial. Corners made easy !!!
Great tutorial! The camera made it easy to see and follow, and you explained things well and simply. Thank you!
Hi there. I just got into sewing by machine after getting tired of mending my ripped pants and using miles of thread by hand.LOL.. I enjoyed your tutorial and excited about sewing. I should have done this years ago, but put it off because I was too scared. I'm a guy by the way. So far I made a dust cover for my guitar amp, fixed my worn pants, fixed several shirts, and made several curtains. Many thanks.

Thank you such a simple method and yet looks beautiful. I will be using this afternoon to bind my first full size quilt. You are an excellent instructor
Thank you so much for your help! 🧵
Thank you for making straight binding simpler!
Very good presentation - so clear and precise. Great to be able to hear every instruction without having to strain because of loud music! First class. Many thanks.
thank you so much for the excellent overview. This is the 4th one I have watched and you helped me finally understand it. Thank you for going slow and pausing to show the close ups!!!
I "Mitered" known you would have the best DIY! Thank you
Ha! That's great! Thanks for the laugh!

Thank you - yours was so much simpler to follow and you didn't keep changing the quilt you were demonstrating on!
Awesome tutorial! Yay Sara, best tip ever for mitered corners I've seen yet :-)
this was WONDERFUL. i haven't done any binding (i just started sewing things this year, easy quilts, potholders, placemats)... i just didn't know how. and some of the other tutorials were TOO difficult. i LOVE this one. thank you for this presentation.
Yay! So glad this was helpful for you! Thank you for letting us know! Happy sewing!
I followed your video, and I am very pleased with the results. Thank you!
Thank you so much for the video and great instruction. I have struggled with corners for a long time. This was very helpful
Better than last five videos.
What an easy way to do binding. I just finished a wall hanging using your method of binding and my corners turned out better than any quilt I have done. And so simple. Thank you for the video!!
Yay! Thank you for letting us know!
This is the best tutorial ever! Thank you!
That knee lift action is just beautiful!
Thank you so much! Bindings have always been the worse part of quilting for me. I finally mastered the mitered corner only to have severe problems with joining the final ends together. Grrrrr! Your technique is fool proof and I love it!!!!
Thank you so much
I only made I quilt before and I forgot how to do this. Your video was very clear and concise. I feel confident I will be able to finish my quilted table runner using this method. Thanks for taking the time to create and share this video.
Yay! That's awesome! Thank you so much for letting us know!
An excellent presentation. Ms Gallegos has the perfect voice and script for an exemplerary lesson. Thank you.
Angi
Angie N thank you that was so well explained
Thanks so much
Great tutorial. I would've liked to see the way you ended the folded binding. I'm curious how the corners looked while you sewed them.
That's just me. I like the small details. ❤️
Hi Martha! Thank you for the feedback! We're always looking to improve!
Bravo
I didn't pivot stitch off. I stopped and just folded there and started sewing other side and now I will pivot stitch off - I believe that was my problem. THANK YOU
I’m so thankful for this. Binding has always tripped me up! And thanks for explaining the 1/4 inch foot! BUT, I have question. Can you show how to machine straight sew the back side rather than hand sew or decorative sew. I am always worried it won’t look good on the front or miss the back side if you complete from the front. There must be a trick to it. Thanks so much!
Thank you so much. Your tutorial is so easy to understand.
Awesome! So glad it was helpful!! Thank you for letting us know!
As a beginner, I really like this video. I have seen tutorials where the person demonstrating the technique says to you should get a 1/4" foot but never explained why or showed how to use it.
GREAT! Thank you!
Great video! I'm already pretty good with the corners but joining the binding ends is a different story! You made it look so easy! I'll have to try it your way instead of fumbling with the ends and sewing them together in hopes it turns out right. Ripped one out twice the other day before finally getting it done right! Thanks for the great video!!
Pin the ends together where the stitches would be and test it out before you actually sew it together. I always get a twist in my binding and pinning first has saved me a lot of time with the seam ripper.
Excellent- good closeups
Very very clear speeach.well explanation .no music tkq tkq
Your minke is the easiest method iam so going to make more blankets😍
Great tutorial! Thanks :-)
Very nice tutorial. One area that would be nice to see is how to work the miter on the back side. Mine don't want to lay flat.
Thank You very much, amazing
Nice & clear stitching 🙏🌹
Very good tutorial.. Really helpful
Awesome; we're glad you found it helpful! Thanks for letting us know!
You did a great job but,. You did not show the corners after you were done....??
WoW Nice thanks
Awesome dear
Ty
Really helpful video. Would just like to ask did you cut 4.4” wide to make 2 1/4 bias tape?
Please show how you turn the mitered corner right side out. When I tried it, it wasn't like it should be. I also know that my binding wasn't wide enough to begin with.
very Good..
OMG,,,,what kind of Machine is this, It reminds me of Star Trek 😉
Please show how you sew to the miter corners.
an excellent work.i love that ...

Hello! Got a question for ya. I'm getting close to begin quilting and/or FMQ on my very first quilt...💃🏼 😂 (& it's a queen size). I may have bitten off too much cuz the machine I have sits on my large sewing table however it's not flush with the table. I have an accessory piece for my machine that works like a Sew Steady but I really don't think it's substantial enough for so much bulk. Do you have any ideas as to how I could ..get a great price for a long arm 😂 OR "quilt-as-you-go" (which I've never done before & you could do a tutorial 👍) OR just struggle along in hopes that it doesn't look completely awful. Make sense? I need your brainpower! 💪
great mam
Yes.
Where do you get the sewing foot?
Hi Peggy, the 1/4" foot featured in this video can be purchased through your local Baby Lock retailer.
I wish you had shown how to turn the corners. I butchered mine, they ended up rounded.
yes, this was how to make a "perfect mitered corner", yet that part was not shown.
Nice to see that you used a Melody - I have that machine but unfortunately, have lost the manual. Have contacted Baby Lock but they tell me it is no longer available. My dealer is no help (actually it disappeared when the machine was in his shop when I wanted to sell it but did not notice the manual was missing for a couple months!) Surely there is some way to get a replacement!! Help!!
Hi Marlene! Here is a link to the manual that you can download from the Baby Lock website: www.babylock.com/machines/100/melody
Thank you!! I thought I would never be able to get it!!
Its easy to make continuous binding
my machine is a 1947 Stitchmatic, just forward and reverse, was my mom's machine, been using this for over 30 yrs, don't care for the fancy computerized stitching, I do it all by hand . .
the website is not working......404 not found
Thank you for letting us know! Here you go! sewathomeclasses.com/accessorey-sewing-quilting-feet
Talked alot about the binding but when it came time to show the mitered corner, only showed half and not how to do the corner when you turn the fabric over to complete the binding and mitered corners from the other side, which is what I was watching the video for. :-(
Exactly my issue as well.
Agree
See her flip the corner at 5:50
The ONLY CLOSEUP you DIDN’T do was showing the details of actually folding and setting the dang mitered corners! 😂😂
Sorry Rhonda! Check out this video at 2 minutes and 30 seconds ua-cam.com/video/82PN0l6kaRk/v-deo.html Happy sewing!!
?????? How do you sew the little flap you just created down??....cuz it'll be lifting up on an angle if you don't go back over it and sew it down. Make sense?
Hi Elle! It takes a little practice, but, when you wrap the binding to the other side of the quilt, around and over the raw edges, you can get that corner to lay nice and flat, with a nice angle. You just have to try it to see how it works. :) And as Sara mentioned, some straight stitch-in-the ditch or next to the edge ensuring that the back side is caught, or use a decorative stitch to hold the binding down. Some will even do this same technique, but instead stitch it to the back first and then, wrap the binding to the front so that you can better see where you are stitching on front. Hopefully that helped!
what do u think about sewing machines from wish? they dont describe the product in detail so idk if they have what is necessary for it to work as well as a professional one. im a beginner!

هههههخخ هبل
Huh? Did I miss something? I watched the whole thing with baited breath in anticipation of zeroing in on the ACTUAL MITERED CORNER…and it fast forwarded to a finished product WITHOUT EVEN SO MUCH AS A SUGGESTION as to how you did the PERFECTLY MITERED CORNER. Not cool😩.
😢
You don’t know the secret.
I do mitered corners heaps better then this.
Great 😒 another video that does not show the actual finishing of the corner.
Talk talk talk talk talk... just give a VERY short overview and get to the demonstration.
