Parrots of any kind are an awful pet for VAST majority of people. They make a mess, they're loud, the vet bills on them are out of this world and bc they're so intelligent they get bored really easily, and bc they're social animals they need pretty much constant company and attention so you either spend the whole day with them or you get a second one which fixes the last two issues but makes the previous ones twice as bad... The only pet birds I'd say most people can deal with and make for good pets are songbirds and pigeons.
I remember when I worked at home depot, there was a couple that would bring in their birds. 2 huge cockatiels and two different types of parrots. One was a classic grey and the other was one of those green tropical ones. My favorite was one of the cockatiels they had, instead of the usual white with yellow tip feathers. It was a beautiful light pink with salmon colored tips. They were all super chill in the store, expect when daddy walked too far away, one of the parrots would start making this noise that sounded like a child whining for their mom. They are honestly adorable but I can't imagine how much work they are at home. XD
There was a time my cat had kittens. Our weiner dog got at the kittens. To stop this behavior, my father tied one of the kitten’s corpses around the dog’s neck. Almost half The litter was killed and now I’m traumatized. This all happened before I even reached the age of 10.
I just see this and I'm like, What The F**k? Bro, that is the most f**ked up shit and what makes it worse is that you experienced it before your late childhood. My condolences to you man, you never deserved to see that.
Damn... That is utterly screwy. And as a Brit, that's me being relatively polite about it. Hope you have the support around you to overcome the undoubted trauma that had to cause 🙏
I also have a cat who is literally called "chaos kitty" just because he had so much energy as a kitten and he started bullying the older cat I have so yeah...
I have a cat who was exactly that before he mellowed out. During his 'zoomie' days, my mom would actually call him a, and I quote, 'special-ed motherfucker' He was such a weird cat.
I remember when a similar situation happened with my male chameleon named rocky and my mom female chameleon named gingersnap, rocky was an a-hole qnd gingersnap was just sassy. Well we kept them separated until one day my mom left there cages open because she was trimming the plants inside there cages, she left the door open since rocky was being the a-hole he was and making it so she couldn't close the door and since there right next to each other, rocky got into gingersnap cage without my mom noticing. Only a few hours later did she realize but it was already too late, gingersnap was pregnant. But it wasn't that bad, my mom was wanting to breed chameleons herself. So she just decided to accept, everything was going great until gingersnap laid her eggs she died. I don't remember why possibly from stress, but she laid all her eggs and we were going to take care of the eggs. All the eggs hatched and were healthy which was surprising given there was 10(+) egg's, but my mom planned keeping 1-2 but we had moved into a house which wasn't taken care of properly. And during the winter the house gets far too cold for a cold-blooded animal, rocky who was still alive actually got a disease from how cold it was. And we ended up giving him to a family friend so he wasn't suffering from the cold any longer, and we didn't need any of the babies they went to friends.
Well guess JaidenAnimations birds must've decided screw her one of us is gonna lay eggs and we're gonna wreck a drawer that she got and make her wonder and probably have a mini existential crisis over the bird she's had the longest is actually a male or not. I do wonder though what would happen if she actually got 2 more birds and those birds didn't get along with her other 2 birds
I don’t think this guy is a responsible pet owner. For 1. That is not how you discipline a cat you’re most likely just traumatising your cat or making it dislike you and that’s why it’s continued to lash out. 2. You’re straight up chatting shit with birds laying eggs in whatever. The only bird that does that is the pigeon and the only reason the pigeon does that is because humans domesticated them years ago and just abandoned them. 3.I feel like they were desperate for the eggs to hatch despite kaisen saying multiple times she does not want birds not to mention who says she even knows how too. It’s like when people get their cats or dogs pregnant simply for the money but give away these sick and diseased little puppies or kittens. Us as pet owners have a responsibility for our pets, to train them and to look after them and to not force them into situations they don’t want to be in
Concerning pigeons, the rock dove(the base of every domestic pigeon) naturally lays it's eggs anywhere as long as the surface is flat enough. They were doing this long before we domesticated them. They reacted to a Casual Geographic video that mentions it.
Doesn't really compare to the cat thing, but I've had to euthanize praying mantises and scorpions when I was breeding/ raising them. I don't currently have any because they've all died now, due to time, but I kinda want to try again.
Those arent cookies, they are some kind of seed snack that were made into little balls that look like cookies 😂 she showed them on videos a few years back

@@roadworkahead3609 well, I shouldn’t say “minor” but before that video was even published by hbomberguy, he had already sorted it out with the original publisher and reuploaded it, so it’s already kinda blown over. It just seems trivial to completely stop watching him because of it.
@@53shelbyI haven’t seen any evidence he “worked it out” with Mental Floss, and the actual author of the article he stole, Lucas Reilly, hadn’t been contacted at all, and was totally unaware IH had re-uploaded the video now with pitiful thesaurus word-switching. If you do have a source for Mental Floss giving the legal “ok” for the reupload I’d love to see it. Still doesn’t make what he did anywhere close to forgiven, though.
Eh, lots of birds cannibalize their own eggs if they get hungry enough or if they feel like they have too many eggs to take care of. Animals in general aren’t as attached to their young as we are, like they’re biologically wired to reproduce and care for them, but only so long as the circumstances allow them to. If they feel threatened in any way or are too weak or hungry, they WILL abandon their young or straight up eat them to survive. They can always have more later on, and that’s just nature 🤷♀️

Depends on the bird, but in general they're a bit much for most people. Probably the only big exception to that is pet pigeons.

To be honest, one of my main thoughts throughout was, couldn’t she have just given away the eggs to someone who is qualified to take care of them?
There wasn't any garuntee that they were even fertile.

Not much of a point. Green cheek conures are easy to find breeders for, and it's WAY more practical to get birds from intentional breeding situations
