- After you finished the Twilight series by Stephenie Meyer do you find yourself wanting more, awesome, non boring, books to read? In this 11th episode of booktalk with xtinemay I talk about some of the great books i've been reading since i finished the twilight series, specifically CITY OF FALLEN ANGELS, by CASSANDRA CLARE, the first book in her Mortal Instruments. I hope you guys like it and contribute your two cents! =)

When Camille was talking with Magnus about Will I was sobbing SO HARD 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭

My heart skipped a beat when Camille said "Will" my eyes teared up, just all the feels came back to me
Me to every time they brought up Will Jem and Tessa
When Magnus had throwbacks to will and jem and tessa and london i literally died :)
My fave part is
"'Good organization,' said Magnus. 'I knew the man who founded it, back in the 1800s. Woolsey Scott. Respectable old werewolf family.'
Alec made an ugly sound in the back of his throat. 'Did you sleep with him, too?'
Magnus's cat eyes widened. 'Alexander!'"

I had 4 favourite parts:
1. When Brother Zachariah said, "Would that I had been here, when you were growing up. I would have seen the truth in your face, Jace Lightwood, and known who you are."
2. When Simon jumps in front of Clary and the Mark of Cain kills Lillith!
3. MAIA AND JORDAN'S KISS #JAIA
4. The whole talk Simon and Luke had at the end about Maureen!
LOVED THE BOOK!!!

That part when Camille was talking to Magnus and there was a "throwback" to the Infernal Devices, I got very emotional 😭
favourite line: simon opens door for jace "is that a coathanger in your hand -JACE.

My favorite line is when Simon, jace and Jordan were talking backstage and Simon was like "did you know you two match" and jace was like "I borrowed this from Kyle" and Simon goes "wow, you're wearing each other's clothes now. That's, like, best-friend stuff" and Jordan/Kyle says "feeling left out? I suppose you want to borrow a black tshirt too" and then Simon's like "as long as everybody's wearing their own pants" I was literally laughing for like 10 minutes
I found yet another parallel between TMI & TID!!! In Clockwork Prince when Jessamine is in the Silent City and she carves J.G. into the wall of the cell for "Jessamine Gray" and then in City of Fallen Angels when Jace is in the Silent City and he looks at the wall and sees J.G... O_O
My reaction at the end....
Ah, what a nice ending, this so nice and happy and sweet.... *Sebastian* HOLY MAMA WTF IS THIS *flails with book in hands, throws it on the floor* OH NO MY BABY *rolls off bed to floor hugging CoFA to chest* Jk so sorry... *opens book* SHIT SHIT SHIT WTF SEBASTIAN GET BACK IN YOUR COFFIN WHYY JAAAAACCEEEE WHHHHYYYYY *just dies* *shakes fist in the air* CASSANDRA CLAAAAAARREEEEEEEE
When Jace and Simon went shopping together! Lmfao!

Those moments got me laughing so hard, XD
I freaked out so hard when brother Zachariah popped up I was like, awww cassie I see what you did there...
"Thats not dead enough for me"
Nykola Dudeck flashbacks to 'mostly extinct is not extinct enough!!'
I'll have the book changed from "almost extinct" to "not extinct enough for Alec"
Any part with Alec and Magnus put my relationship with my boyfriend to shame.
Every time Will was mentioned I cried.
And that ending... 0.o
There were so many parts that had me laughing out loud. One of my favourites was after Isabelle interrupts Clary and Jace making out in the alley, and she say "Anyway, he's obviously not here. Go back to what you were doing. What's the point in wasting a perfectly good brick wall when you have someone to throw against it, that what I always say."
OH MY GOD JACE'S DAD'S BOX (with the knife and letters and such) IS JEM'S BOX THAT HE KEEPS HIS YIN FEN IN THAT HE GIVES TO WILL AT THE SEMI-END OF CLOCKWORK PRINCESS!!!!!!!!!!
I thought the grocery store scene was interesting because you could get a visual of Simon grabbing a buggy and then him and Jace grocery shopping together. It was a more normal scene, like you didn't have to read about a lot of the action just the casual shopping for food. Although Cass Clare still could throw in the comedy by bringing in the dialogue about the mango because that made me die lol. When those girls walk up to him and give him their number and Simon asks what they wanted and he responded "They wanted to touch my mango." I loved it! #clace
I love when Jace is at Jordan's apartment, and Jordan finally confesses that it's his job to keep an eye on Simon. And Simon says, "So I guess I can't move out then?" and Jordan tells him "Sure you can move out. But I'm coming with you."
And then Jace interjects with "I can keep a perfectly good eye on Simon, thank you. He’s my neophyte Downworlder to mock and boss around, not yours."
I don't think I've ever loved Jace more.
When jace is like "what's this?" And Simon is like "that's a mango." LOL
"This song is for you baby. Here is.. BANG YOU LIKE A DRUM" XD
you forgot about the part where alec is jealous of will!!!!!!!!
The grocery store when jace with the mangos and when the girl goes up to him and ask to touch his mangos lmaoooo I love that part XD
at that part I really weanted 2 slap her and say HE HAS A GF AND THEY R PERFICT 2 GEATHER DONT U RUIN IT( I am a huge clace fan)...(like a REALLY big fan =I...DON'T JUGE ME!!!!)

also do you remember that in Clockwork Prince, when Jessamine is in the silent city, she carves JG into the wall , which stands for Jessamine Gray. And in City of Fallen Angels , when Jace is in the Silent City, he sees a carving of two letters on the wall , JG!!!

That was Simon on the cover with Clary???? I thought it was Alec!!!?? And on the last one (City of Glass) I thought it was Alec too but it turned out to be Sebastian. I keep getting them wrong lmao

my favourite parts is when , simon feed on maureen ( when the book got interesting ) , the rain make out science , when jace and clary in the bedroom, when they go to the silent brothers, when clary goes to the church of talto thing and the end
Jace: "Hey, do you want to see a photo of Alec and Magnus in Berlin?"
Simon: "Not really."
Jace: "Magnus is wearing lederhosen."
Simon: "And yet, still no."

I loved how we got more of the love of SIZZY!!!!
One of my favorite scenes, was when Jace and Simon was in the grocery store, it was just so funny, and I liked to see how Jace didn't know that much about the mundan world!:)
When Simon and Jace went to the grocery store, I had to put the book down and recollect myself.
"What was that all about?"
"She asked me if she could touch my mango?"
LOL. MY FAV PART! GROCERY SHOPPING! SO MANLY!
oh my god same here i thought Sebastian would pretend to be Max in Jace's dream but it turned out to be Lilith ugh......
i loved how Simon played a huge role in this book and the sarcastic convos between him and Jace made me laugh out loud so hard HAHAHA I LOVE THEM SO MUCH
and god i was SO mad at the ending (i just finished it) damn it Jace hates himself enough and now this happens... NO NO NO
and i also thought that Stephen's knife is kind of evil and Jace should def get rid of that damn thing

I loved this book too! I’m glad Simon had such a big part in the plot this time because he is amazing and so funny!
omg it's so weird to see how Christine's presence in front of the camera has changed over the years. but she's always been bright and fun. it's great to see.

OMG one of my favorite parts was when Clary and Jace were kissing in the rain and Izzy walks up talking about not wasting a perfectly good brick wall. LMAO

I don't like the thought of you being with me jutw because I look like somd dead guy you liked. Malec in this book was great.
My favorite charicters in the following order: JACE (of course), Clary, Simon, Isabelle, Magnus (hehehe), Luke, Alec.....then all the other characters. I Really like jordan though, I love the part when he and jace r like threatening eachother and im thinking oh jace would totally kick jordans ass. AAHHHH I LOVE THIS SERIES! CANT WAIT FOR CITY OF LOST SOULS!

My two favorite funny parts were with Isabelle and Jace about Clary being hurt and with Jace and Simon about mangos. My two favorite romantic parts were Jace and Clary in the rain and when Jace went to see Clary when she was hurt.
I never need to re-read books before the next one comes out because I can just watch your reviews and it all comes back to me. Thank you!
I think that the silver box might be Jem's yin fen box that he gives to Will in CP2 when He becomes Brother Zachariah.
I thought the Cover was Clary and Alec. So did my friend. Reasons. 1. The book never mention Simon having Bows and arrow(Not like the last book. They mention having it.). But they mention Alec having it. 2. Simon had curly hair and was longer and covered his forehead
I love your enthusiasm for these books and for every book you talk about. That's how I am with any book! Who do u ship more Sizzy, CLACE, or Malec! I love every relationship SO MUCH it's extremely hard to pick but I think I love ❤️ CLACE MORE!
Before reading city of fallen angels, I was team Maia, because I felt they had more in common. But then we got to meet Jordan and I felt like their (Maia and Jordan) background story was complex, so they're basically meant for each other! So i'm team Isabelle now!

I loved it too! Me needs City of Lost Souls NOW!! Oh, and since you asked about favorite quotes, one of my favorites is when they are at the dress shop and luke is explaining about the shadowhunter wedding traditions and how everyone else wears white to show their purity. I about died when Jace said well that ship has sailed and Luke choked on his coffee. haha
THE ENDING!!!!!! OMIGOSH!!!!! I JUST CANT!!!!! THE WHOLE BOOK WAS JUST AMAZING!!!! XD XD XD
YEAHH I think that knife is cursed or something, and every time I was reading the book I was like COME ON JACE THROW IT AWAY!!!! But apparently it was just Lilith 🤷🏼♀️

I totally loved how Cassandra Clare tied in Clockwork Angel...how very clever! Now I'm not only DIEING to read City of Lost Souls but I can't freakin wait to read Clockwork Prince either!!!!! Both amazing series!!!
tessa was in The City of Glass. She's the girl that magnus is talking to that clary seems drawn to. At the end with at the banquete before she goes to meet jace on the stairs

Before they found out about each other, i wanted Maia to end up with Simon, but then, after they knew, Isabelle was the only one willing to talk to him and Maia was just completely ignoring him. So I think he's with Isabelle now.
I was kinda cheering on Maia at the end of the 3rd book because they had the downworlders relationship and Izzy just liked downworlders to like them so I was kinda hoping for him and Maia to be together now I hope she gets with Jordan

Great video Kristine (hope I spelled that right)! I absolutely adored this book as well. On my gosh, I loved the part where Simon was talking to Raphael and Simon's like "oh good, you've started referring yourself in third person now" I thought that was hilarious. Simon says some really funny things in this book! I kind of wanted Simon to end up with Maia at the start cause they play halo together and she's so grounded but now with Jordan in the picture it's different! And ahhh! Sebastian!! Lin

this is my fav out of them all (book) because 4 once jace is in SO mutch pain and...and...(tries 2 find right words) it's SO adorable
i loved all the banter between jace and simon! it was my favorite part, OMG my favorite part was when jace was watching jordan play the video game xD! Ahh and i loved the whole isabelle simon thing going on. at the end when there was that super intense moment and then everyone walked in i was like ARGGGGG damn the backup! they should have taken longer to arrive!

This book was amazing. Frustrating, yet amazing. I finished it more quickly than usual but I couldn't stop. I was really looking forward to a happy ending, then the last scene with jace & Sebastian. Augh!!!! Really, Cassandra Clare?!? All hail the queen, these books are amazing.

so u said theres a will in clock work prince right? well could it be the same will that magnas had relashions with? magnas did say he was a shadow hunter and magnas has the will guys cigar box with a W and a H on it and he said it was wills.
After listening to you talking about the knife, I have started to wonder whether it is the knife that Ella Herondale used to try to ward off the demon that came out of the Pyxis and tried to curse Will.
