This is a combination of factors. 1. MR/Carryology didn't take into account the stiffness of the material when they decided to use this style of hydration port. The stiffness of the material makes it so that even less material overlaps. Material overlapping is what creates a barrier against water intrusion. 2. There was zero QC as to how much, and at what angle the fabrics should be sewn. This is evident by the fact that many bags have one good port, and one bad port (one side had more material sewn tighter, while the other had less). Many other bags have both ports fully opened. It was truly disgusting to see how little accountability MR and Carryology took as far as owning up to the fact they made a mistake in the design AND the implementation of that design on this bag. Rather, they doubled down on saying this design and implementation was not a defect (but accepted returns, which would seem contradictory to their position). The fact people love this bag anyway speaks to how good the bag is overall, but it does't detract from the fact that we were sold a subpar product at a premium, and the issue was downplayed by Carryology staff/moderators to save face. For Carryology, Brands come first, Customers come second. That much had slowly become evident, but was made glaringly obvious by this collab drop. I hope you manage to enjoy the bag regardless.
Agreed. I still prefer my OG MR Spartans. Much higher material quality, Clark Field/USA made and way more simple design. Very tired of stiff Vietnam zippers vs the rubberized old school zips on these collabs! The Lii Gear Mr. Octopus also gives the Cerberus a run for its money. Sometimes more is less ;)
@@0f556 youll dig it man! A top notch pack for the price. Its design allows you to pitch the bag to each side while wearing for dual access like a sling. Great EDC bag!
@@peijae1 Thanks for stopping by. Was hoping you could chime in and share your opinions about the latest packs. There's days I wish I did go for the Blackjack LT 35 vs the Spartan. I'm kinda wish the BJLT35 would replace my 3DAP.
