Rabea will always hold a special place in my heart for shred work, but damn Ben is a beast too!
I’m actually more impressed by Ben
Lee's signature lick as the intro of every Anderton's guitar video!!!
Lee's signature lick plus a disclaimer that Lee is a partial owner of that lick and therefore has a financial interest in selling you that lick 😂
deadass! LOL!@@markhunstein1320
😂❤
That's some amazing playing while blindfolded, holy crap!
absolutely! mindblown.gif
There's no way I could be close to playing that Accurate "without" a blindfold haha
Like the new intro with Lee’s usual guitar riff that Pete makes fun of.
Yeah! I spotted that and wondered if it was just the first time I'd noticed it...
Gotta make us hear it since he doesn’t go to it every time he plays anymore 😅. It’s been quite nice too because I was getting tired of it and his playing has vastly improved.
can you share a link to the video?
FGN are absolutely stellar guitars. Impeccable build quality and it's probably the only guitar where I didn't feel like I needed to change the original pickups !
This guy know how to shred. Nice to see more metal stuff again :D
FGN are elite manufacturers of electric guitars. A lot of Ibanez guitars are made in their factory. The new Schecter California classic series are also their creation. It is great that they've decided to boost their own guitars. For a fraction of the price of a high-end Ibanez or Schecter you get an excellent guitar with great specs and built. I own an ODYSSEY J-STANDARD (KOA NB) and it is by far the most versatile guitar I have ever played - from metal to jazz, from rock to blues, funk, shred… anything goes. Before you go ahead and purchase a guitar, I suggest you try on of these, you'll be amazed how much guitar you get for a fair affordable price.
FGN again, wow
FGN has been kicking some serious ass.
That "Bark at the Moon" riffage just sounds savage.
Freaking right!! Ben, dude!!! What a shredder. Nice playing, man!
Ben is right ! We need more of him with the captain
That’s some serious shreddage going on there! Amazing stuff 🤘
I'm a bit of a shred-head, and I love my FGN Neo Classic. The fit and finish on their guitars is absolutely incredible. Flawless, even.
Ben’s a monster of a player.
Great playing Ben!
Ben is killer! Glad to have him on! Still miss Joss though. I’d love to see more videos with him again
need more ben content!
This is a really interesting video happy to see another shredder on Andertons along with Rabea
Not normally a fan of shredders but bloody hell Ben you're a monster!!!! 😮
DAMN that Ibanez run was good.
"You sound like Rob Chapman now." "(oh no)" 🤣🤣🤣 Nothing against Rob, but that's hilarious.
No one can sound like chapperman.
@@darrenc8776 find someone who’s been playing for 2 years, and they can. But without the elitist know it all better than you attitude 😅
@@BkBk-gy6vrjust looking at the guy I feel like he actually smells bad. Idk I just get that vibe from him. 💀😭😂🤣
these are always great fun, reminds me of early andertons yt videos!
Definitely one of the top players you’ve ever had on hopefully we can see more of him. Love the metal/shred series of these episodes too! You and Ben should do a budget and expensive shred/metal rig. You guys gotta bring back the “sounds like” series too, I feel like with all the new options these days, the “without busting the bank” versions could get insanely good.
Holly $hit, this Ben guy can shred (and I hate him). But that's not the worst part. We haven't heard him play properly yet. If he sounds this good blindfolded (playing guitar blindfolded is very difficult, but shredding is ten times more difficult. No one at Andertons has shredded like this blindfolded), what the hell does he sound like normally? A star is born, he should have his own spot on the channel.
More of these please, excellent stuff!
BTW I have the exact same Schecter Omen Elite, in the same colour :)
I have the 7 string version! I don't use it for shreddy stuff and more just djenty stuff and have found it comfortable for that. Though I'm not a shredder so Ben could be on to something!
Love the captain lee's lick for the intro 😄
love the intro.. Captains signature lick!
More Ben and metal vids please!
I got a FGN Iliad and it's by far the best T-style guitar I have ever put my hands on!
😍😍😍
You should show the specs of each one on the screen as they’re handed to Ben….especially what pickups they have
I like Ben! He isn’t trying to show off, or seem smart he’s just into the guitars! You can feel his curiosity of what the hell he has in his hands.
I have an FGN tele in candy Red. Brilliant guitars for the money.
Woo FGN for the win! Best Tele (mine is waiting for me at the shop) and best Shredder
Thanks for that comparison. Very useful and interesting even it´s subjective feel (as always) from one (very good) player.
If I could have a wish, I would have appreciated a Solar A type 6 string in that row too. Just to see where Ben would place that both neck and sound like.
The Larry Carlton Guitar sounded brighter than the EVH guitar because the EVH has been in the neck pickup position all the time. The pickup selector on the Wolfgang is soldered backwards.
Thats just an entry FGN too, the Expert models compete with any other custom shop instrument for a good price too. They make the ibanez J customs but for way less because there is no Ibanez name involved
That FGN is FuGiN amazing.
Ben sure does work in the guitar department YEESH
FGN killing it in the last videos! Still looking for a LPC10 with the original shape to add to my first one :D
Y , ideo before this it was amazing tele now this shreddy tele kills it.Japanese guitars are something else
The Soldano is the star of the show. They all sounded good due to that tone
Anything will sound good out of a $2000+ head lol
First time for me to hear the Leeck as part of the intro. We have officially immortalized it.
I use my High Gain Riff Master guitar that's modded with high voltage pots with high dynamic caps and hand made triple wrapped low squeal pickups.
This is such a weird coeincidence it's awesome, just yesterday I've been comparing Ibanez to Jackson and schecter, the only missing brand in this lineup is LTD.
I think Ben is either used to hard tails and active pickups or his a blues player at heart lol. Danish pete laughing in the back killed me hhhh
All the notes in every order!
Good lord Ben is a force to be reckoned with.... Playing better than 95% blindfolded!
Ben is a Blindfolded beast 🤘
That Soldano sounds wonderful. I can only afford a SLO mini though.
I think guitars in blindfolded tests can without any harm be referred to with their color. I think the human mind can process colors better than numbers (the white one vs. the fifth one). Or will players be prejudiced by color? I also think we viewer can hear the sound, so it's nice to hear the preference specified, but it needn't be explained extensively. Playability on the other hand, since we cant feel what he feels: details! An interesting judging factor, and highly sensitive people notice, is how inviting the guitar plays. How eager does it make? Can you stop playing it, or does it make you go on?
Can we get a link to Bens Socials!!
I enjoyed the shred!
Schecters really are like that, they take some getting used to. I have an Avenger fr and when I got it the neck felt uncomfortable and kind of weird, but when I’d wrestle with it for some time it grew on me and now it’s my favorit one.
More high gain stuff please
I liked the Ibanez for sound, the PGN was nice too followed by the Wolfgang.
You can tell he's used to decent set up guitars, cos he never mentioned the action on any of them. I agree about Japanese guitars too, when the Japanese made Fenders in the 80's, they were the best guitars Fender never made. And I love the quality of Tokai. Personally I find most shredding guitars have really flat fretboards, and I prefer a 7.25 or the 9.5, but I got an Ibanez (from Andertons ima) a few years back and the fretboard feel was amazing, low action and no dead frets or buzzes straight from the box, I wish I could say the same for all the guitars I've bought over the years. Great vid as always Mr Anderton.
Wonderful
Very good shredding..and no whammy either!
No ESP?
I Love the sound and look of chapman
I love how Ben shreds like a mad man while blindfolded by can't find the G chord :D
Well, a lot of men do have issues finding things with “G” in them, so we can’t be too surprised…
Boom. Roasted.
I got the same Ibanez in its silver-black version and threw a full set of seymour duncans (JB, SSL-5, 59) into it, not because it needed it, just because I prefer the SD sound over the typical "ibanez" sound, and love it. Got it 6 years ago (i think) and for a bit over 400 euro, so I was kinda surprised how much more expansive it has gotten. But yeah, 6 years are not nothing and especially not those 6 years for pricing and comparing euro to pound sterling either, i guess.
Its a nice guitar, one of the best options for budget double locking tremolo imho.
Ben is a hell of a player - the overall genre is a bit much for me, too shreddy for me, but I can still appreciate really really good playing when I see it!
My favourite lately is the Jackson jeff loomis sl7 soloist and the kelly, whatever magic they did with those, they almost play themselves 😂
I have a US lefty Wolfgang and it’s a lovely guitar, but I think sits as a more general rock guitar as opposed to an out and out widdly shredder guitar. It really feels like a Les Paul mixed with a Tele with a Floyd Rose on it.
The Musicman Axis feels like what you've described too
"Say anything that comes into your head" !!! Why not Pete does Lol
FGN (FujiGeN) makes insane guitars for the money. Unfortunately I personally don't like the feel of the necks.
As soon as he started ripping into Bark at the Moon, I knew the FGN was his favorite haha.
Does anyone know what brand stools they use in the studio? I looked around on the anderton's site and couldn't find them.
definitely cleanest playing on the Ibanez, but I agree that fgn sounded best.
These blindfold sessions have inspired me to do this myself, have a mate hand me my guitars while I'm blindfolded to feel and hear which is my favourite. My new Chapman ML3 Traditional with the P90 is my current favourite.
The EVH sounded best to me, but I'm totally biased as an old guy and huge Eddie fan. They've nailed that "Brown Sound" with that guitar.
This Ben fella can shred very nicely . By all means have him, John and Rabea do more videos and shred stuff . I would like to see Lee and Pete play somethink like Alkaline Trio .
That intro is 🔥😂
I actually chose the white Japanese Axe....and the Ibenez 😎...... I always say you can never go wrong with an Ibenez.....this was a good one. Thanks Ben you have spent much time in the wood shed, so to speak.☠️⚡🌪️🔥
wtf is an ibenez?
Blindfold Ben shredwell 😲🤘🏻
That intro where you leave the chord ring on the second guitar stresses me out 😂😂😂😂
Wolfgang sounded AMAZING
I thought the Dinky sounded killer! Very midrangey cut and ballsy!
I like wider necks so perhaps that Jackson is the one for me !!
Does anyone know where the charvels are made these days
Really enjoyed this and normally I would swerve anything that says “shred” or “chug”. 2 observations.
1 Ben should have been allowed to warm up.
2 The Wolfgang got a rough deal because of it.
more ben vids :D
Ben is the only guitarist I’ve ever seen who doesn’t make “guitar faces” !!,,, great player though ! 😂🎸👌🔥🔥🔥
The thing is, it's all subjective. What one person will like, another will not? I really liked how the Chapman sounded, but I must admit that I think that the FGN was the best.
best guitar won,mij fujigen quality,i bet the majority of the others are cort made instruments
10:16 "3-2-1 dusty bin" now there's a pop culture reference only viewers of a certain vintage will appreciate!
That Sire looks like it should cost double the amount!
I can't comment on the feel obviously but soundwise we're almost on polar opposite ends. I agreed with the best sounding GUITAR was the FGN , but to me the Chapman was clearly second followed by the Sire and EVH both noticeably behind.
Do this with mid-price p basses (jazz basses too. I suppose, I'm just after a decent p-style at the moment)
I’m more impressed he can shred so accurately blindfolded than anything else lol 😎. Using the Force obviously 😳
He can see
Finally, an honest Chapman review. Someone that doesn't figure out it's a Chapman and then say it's the best guitar ever.
If I can make a request… I love watching your videos because they’re entertaining and usually have a component of learning about gear to them, but often times on videos like these where there’s playing and then talking in between the guitar sound is way too loud compared to the talking. It’s really annoying because I’m constantly turning up and down the volume control.
ALWAYS
Interesting review, thank you for it! The winner is not a suprise, but seeing the Jackson at the last place in terms of comfort, is pretty surprising. I always hear, that "if you wanna buy the most comfortable guitar go for Jackson or Charvel", maybe Ibanez with the Wizard neck profile... but now seeing that the Jackson was not comfortable, is absolutely interesting and disappointing.
Loving that "The Lick" is now the video opener. 👍
Ben…
What are those!? 🙌
The man has fingers that move quicker than one of those facehuggers in Aliens
The Jackson ranking shocked me. As soon as he grabbed it he ripped it harder than everything else and said, nah last
he couldn't deal with the wider fretboard but it did sound good
At the end of the day it’s all personal preference….the dude can shred on anything you put in his hands, does that mean he enjoys playing them all? No….it’s completely subjective….
@@Cody2nd Yeah you're right. It was just funny cause it was a night and day difference in how he played it.
I heard Lee owns part of EVH, ESP, Sire, Fender and Schecter.
So can you, just buy some shares….
he had a few slight tokyo '92 moments i liked that😅
Is that a Terrifier tattoo on Ben's arm?
