My son has Celiac so he is allergic to gluten. We have found with lots of trial and error that Schar brand has the best bread. Really anything we have gotten from that brand has been really good. I also use King Arthur gluten free flour to make homemade waffles and biscuits. King Arthur website has some good gluten free recipes as well. Pillsbury has decent cookie and brownie boxes if you need something quick and easy for a dessert. It is definitely a pain going gluten free because it is in a lot more foods than what people realize. Cheerios, pebbles and Lucky Charms are gluten free. Annies brand for gluten free granola bars, mac and cheese. Natures bakery and Glutino for fruity fig type bars. Make sure to watch items like canned beans or anything with a sauce. There is usually wheat as a thickening agent. I'm sure the doctors told you but gluten is in anything that has wheat, barley or Rye. Good luck with the gluten free.
Robin at faith and flour has a son that has celiac‘s disease and she has to cook gluten-free for him. You might get a lot of ideas from her she shows a lot of the groceries she buys and the way she transforms her normal recipes into gluten-free. I think you’ll find it fairly easy to cook that way for your family. Love in Christ
Hi Lauren. Love all the new decorative touches!!! Your house is really coming together, and I am so glad you are finally feeling more at home. I have always loved mixing the old with the new especially antiques that have been in the family. This year has been hard for you, and losing your mom is life changing. I love her French onion bowls and that you are incorporating them in your decor.
@@LaurenNicholsen I love that you have surrounded yourself with her special things. I have a few of my mom's things that I can see everyday and it makes me feel like she is close by. Love all your new changes!!!!
Udis gf bread is great . Daiya makes great gf and dairy free mac n cheese and pizzas. I find that I can make a lot of rice or potato dishes to avoid pasta , but can also use gf pasta .
I really love the Jovial brand rice pasta. If you go direct to their website you can find a bunch of fun shapes and kinds. Plus it's the only brand I've found that has egg noodles and they are sooo good.
Jovial gluten free pasta is a yummy alternative. Also I've found Bob mills gluten free flour is a true 1 to 1 swap for alot of recipes. It's definitely doable, and everyone may lose a little weight as my family did. But there's so many good alternatives now for gluten free!
Fab fit fun, skin care line, Jane’s Journey game app, AG1 supplement, electrolyte powder, my daily check in journal. I’ve been trying to be more mindful of my consumption and trying to be more aware of when content creators insert sponsored content. I know you only try to share products that are helpful and are well intentioned. Be wary of becoming a commercial, as I know that is not your intent. Maybe it’s just my frustration with social media - but instagram really feels like one big advertising platform and some of my favorite UA-camrs are starting to fall into that category as well. Only mentioned this because I love your channel, it’s one of my favorites.
I completely understand. I shared in Jan that I was going to stop working with as many brands but if you can just hang in there while I honor the brands that I have committed to, I would appreciate it. The brands I work with I actually do use and love and I have never shared a product on here that I didn't use (except I don't shop at Temu anymore and I replaced Ritual with AG1 a month ago and I love it). I cancelled the brands that I have not worked with, used or don't feel are aligned with my content for the remainder of 2024. To be honest, the income does offset many things and I don't feel like I need to be ashamed to work hard and support my family. On the other side, I don't like the process of doing ad reads, it takes a long time to turn over the content to you guys. I plan to honor my commitments and as the months go on I am not going to work with as many brands and I am going to focus on more consistent and real life content. I really appreciate your input and kindness, I know ad reads are not ideal for some of my viewers and for those folks I would hope they can just skip. For others, your tolerance of it is deeply appreciated and you are the reason I can provide for my family and give back to my community. I am aware of it and I am doing what feels right for me and the value of my content to you. XO L
Lauren I have been gluten free for 12 years by choice. You can bake anything with Bob's Red Mill 1 to 1 flour. I think it's the best by far. You just substitute what flour you would have put in with the Bob's 1 to 1 equal measurements. It's that simple. When I first started being gluten-free I was combining different flours myself and adding xanthan gum and it was incredibly overwhelming. I've found so many products where the pastas are so good. Pastas I use are Red lentil, chickpea, brown rice, rice, corn and quinoa. I make gravies and everything with Bob's. You can't go wrong. Daiya frozen pizzas are always gluten free and dairy free. I buy Siete grain free almond flour tortillas. The best bread, rolls, bagels and buns are Canyon Bakehouse gluten free. They have white, multi grain, wheat and even Hawaiian. Blake's has wonderful GF frozen potpies and other selections. Krusteaz has GF cornbread mix and a wonderful GF Cinnamon crum cake mix. I hope this helps you get started . I have tons more snack items if you're interested for kids lunches. You just have to read so many labels. Several gummy candy items kids eat for treats contain flour like Hot Tomales That you wouldn't suspect. Lots of frozen foods even Tater Tots can contain flour to keep them separated for freezing. Amy's Kitchen has a lot of gluten free option. If you want any more list of things just let me know. ❤
My son and I were diagnosed celiac eight years ago. He became very sick. Couldn’t even get out of bed. It can be daunting in the beginning. Just know that any recipe can be substituted gluten-free gluten-free flour best one is King Arthur one for one . Noodles are by the jovial brand. You can buy a lot of that stuff on thrive and get it delivered for cheaper. I think the biggest thing is sauces to be really careful with sauces and seasonings, soy sauce, certain seasonings that you would marinate your meat with have wheat in them. There’s so many available options out there right now he’s gonna be OK and that’s the most important thing ❤️

I and my daughter are allergic to gluten and dairy. I would say to not only check for gluten in food, but also check for it in body products, especially shampoo and conditioners. I get boils on my scalp if I use products containing gluten and so many of them do. Briogeo makes nice products, as do many other brands. Best of luck!
I am gluten intolerant and have been gluten free for almost 10 years now. Most grocery stores have a decent selection, however I have noticed that Sprouts has a much large selection, especially of the ice cream and frozen products.
My husband has Celiac and we went gluten free. Pinterest has some of the best gluten free recipes. Gluten free orange chicken OMG so good. It was a big lifestyle change for us but to be honest I love gluten free better.
Hi Lauren, i want to Say: you're the best youtuber for me! Chic pea pasta is a great option, almost no difference! My son can't have a lot of gluten so I make our bread since store bought bread has added wheat gluten.
Hi Lauren! That dinner looks delicious. I have Brussel sprouts in the fridge. I was going to roast them, but may saute like you did with the shallots. 😊
As a celiac from London, my mine struggle is the hidden gluten! In drinks, sauces etc! I’m part of celiac UK and they have a yearly directory of what’s safe and what’s not in supermarket and restaurant food/dishes! Perhaps the US has something similar!🙏🏻xx
Im gluten and dairy free as well ..i have a gluten gree cookbook i use and i also google gluten free recipes .I had to have my mom fo gluten free as well because i found if i vooked regular foods with gluten and did gluten free anything you used with gluten it flared me up . Like cutting boards etc .
Hi Lauren! I have food allergies myself. I’ve struggled in the stores trying to find the right snacks, bread etc then running store to store. I know you’ve shopped with Thrive. They have been a lifesaver for me. So easy to mark gluten free and it pulls up the items. I also have to be dairy and egg free. So majority of the time I just select gluten free and vegan and the products are endless. Highly recommend. I think the snacks are still tasty even for the kiddos. I do shop at an Amish store to get my GF flour, xanthum gum etc. a lot cheaper than most grocery stores. Best of luck. It’s not easy to start. 🫶🏼
Your child needs their own section in your pantry instead of gutting it as you put it. I think it would be beneficial to the child to educate them on the food allergy. I get up about 5-5:15 everyday for work. I like to sleep in till 6 on weekends.
There's an app called spoonful you can set to whatever dietary restrictions you have and scan the product and it will tell you if it's compliant or not. Its been very helpful for my low inflammation diet ( low fodmap)
For gluten free life, low carb diet is a very god fit. try to avoid things like gluten free pasta and bread and focus more on gluten free foods like potatoes, sweet potatoes etc. gluten free gnocchi are super easy to make, you can just use potato flour instead of gluten free all purpose one. I am also avoiding corn because i have a reaction to corn. And quinoa. It is gluten free but the combo of proteins in it emulates gluten in our bodies. Amaranth is awesome on the other hand. And meet is aways a good choice.
Exactly! Processed foods are more likely the biggest issue for most that are diagnosed. Meat (local farm raised) vegetables and and berries with the smallest a small amount of other fruit, seem the best all around. It takes a bit to get used to no Processed on the front end bur in time it's just as easy if you prep like you do for the week and make every meal from scratch or freeze any extra meals for convenience.
Can you please tell me how the gluten allergy was diagnosed. I believe I may be in the same boat with my daughter. Thank you! Love your videos so so much. ❤

Why would you not just prepare for the one child and the others would stay to food and treats they like? your channel has changed so much. Are you changing the channel into a health and beauty now??
I am learning how to make the changes daily, since I have never had a food allergy in my family, I am learning and doing as much research as I can. I think life has been a little more demanding over the last few years. After leaving my last job I didn't intend on going to back to work until an amazing opportunity came up that I couldn't pass up. That being said, my priorities have really changed and I am struggling to get my decorating done. I for sure am not doing beauty anything, I have no clue about beauty products, make up or any of that. I just use what works. I love Dime Beauty and I use typology but that's all I really know. As I approach 40, I have been very focused on my heath and I do like to share the things that are working with you all. Thank you for supporting!

Hi Lauren, I dont see the link to the girl who makes the Electrolytes? Can you please post it? Thank you
I don't know her handle, but she does a mustard diet. I think her name is Tiffany. I love her watermelon candy electrolytes.
The show was nice, but it was hard to watch because of the background music. The music sounds like it is running slow or something.
Thank you for the feedback! I thought softer music might been nice but I will change it in the next video.
Please the name of the electrolyte please? ❤
Here you go! amzn.to/4bAlVqJ it comes out to a little under $1 a scoop and you only need 1 scoop per 16 oz~ sooo good
I too started watching her lol
But those Electrolytes are 70 Canadian 🥲
Advice: Don’t even use the same spoon when stirring pasta noodles with gluten free pasta….use totally different utensils when cooking.
Thrive has a lot of gluten free options.
Im sorry but that music is terrible,,i put the video on silent and used subtitles 🙏
