Most of my adult life I never made my bed, but years ago when I started following you I remember you saying if there’s nothing else you do all day making your bed is simple. You feel some accomplishment. There’s just something about walking into your bedroom with the bed made.

It does take longer for a gas oven to preheat when baking, most times. I have found that if you have a convection gas oven that it heats up more quickly and circulates the air more evenly keeping the temp better for baking. Just not that if you use your convection baking button, its often a good idea to set it for 25 degrees cooler than the recipe calls for unless your oven runs cold.

Woo hoo, your finger isn't broken! I didn't think it was, but I know it hurt bad! Try to tell a woman not to do anything and things get done 😂 My second child was born 4 days before Christmas, and I had a cesarean, but I cooked the whole Christmas dinner. To this day, I don't know how I did it.
I need to make meatloaf in muffin tins next time. It looks so cute. Have an awesome weekend, and I hope your finger heals soon. 😊

Ever since October I've been making my own bread, hamburger buns, hoagie buns and flour tortillas. I save the wrappers from the sticks of butter and put them in a freezer bag and any time I need to grease something, I just take one of them out and it works great! I really need to do meatloaf this way next time.

Re gas ovens. When I tested my gas oven with a thermometer, I found that it held the right temperature, but it took far longer to preheat than the ding led me to believe. So, everything took longer than it should have to bake. Once I started preheating long enough (usually about 20 minutes instead of 10), all my baked goods came out great according to the recipe timing.

I'm glad your finger is not broken! If your oven is Samsung, I have that oven. I have had the regulator go out twice. If you hear the gas going on and off while it's preheating it's probably that. I will also turn the oven off when it says it's up to temp and double check. If the regulator is off it will not be up at temp when I start the oven again right away. I will use the convection setting if it's not working until my husband can fix it. The convection will make the oven a bit hotter and circulate the air around the whole interior. The best thing about the Samsun oven is the proof setting for bread. Your bread will proof so much quicker. love that.

An onion chopper will chop not only onion, but just about any vegie you need to chop. I use mine for peppers, carrots, garlic, potatoes and so on. I have days I cannot stand long to cook; and when my supply of chopped veggies is not enough I use my chopper. It can be a little hard to push down on some vegies, but it is worth it.

Put a thermometer in your oven to confirm the temperature. Don’t rely on the gauge/dial. It seems your oven may run cooler than what you’re setting it at. A thermometer inside your oven will let you know if you need to up the temp. Glad your finger isn’t broken. 🎉 Sending healing prayers🙏

I did the same thing to my middle finger playing Volleyball in high school Umpteen years ago lol. And now every time the weather gets colder or I bent the finger for too long it clicks. And its a bit painful. Watch out for that in the future after your finger is healed. Heres to a speedy recovery. ❤

I'm glad your finger isn't broken. It was so nice to see your family helping get dinner ready and everybody looking forward to it. Sometimes, I form meatloaf into patties and cook them on the George Forman grill. Meatloaf in 10 minutes or less! This is usually in the summer, because I don't use the oven when it's really hot outside. I think I'll try the muffin cups while it's cold.

I have a gas stove too and had to adjust the oven temperature. The manual should tell you how to adjust it, I had to make mine 10 degrees hotter. Put a thermometer in the stove and let it heat up for about 15 minutes before you read the temp (after it preheats) then adjust if needed. Before we figured out how to adjust the temperature, we set the stove ten degrees higher.

with all your teenagers this might be a recipe and I do think it would be easy to make freezer meal: CROCK POT CARAMELIZED ONIONS
INGREDIENTS I usually double this so I can have caramelized onion for other things
    3lbs sliced onions
1⁄2 cup melted margarine (or butter)
    1 teaspoon salt
    DIRECTIONS
Combine onions, margarine and salt in a crock pot.
Cover and cook on low for 8-10 hours. I usually do this over night to use the next day or so. I usually double or Trible this recipe and slow cook it overnight so I will have it the next day.
    MAIN DISH
    PHILLY BUGERS with Caramelized onions
Serves: 4 Prep time: 20-30 minutes Cook time: 30 minutes
    Ingredients
1 lb. ground beef 1 teaspoon parsley flakes
2 Tablespoons Worcestershire sauce, divided 4 Kaiser Rolls
    4 teaspoons Dijon Mustard, divided
1 cup caramelized onions Onions, divided
1 package (3 oz.) cream cheese
2 cup shredded cheese of your choice
    1 jar sliced mushrooms, drained
    Directions
Combine ground beef, 1 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce, 3 teaspoons mustard and half of the caramelized onions.
Form into 4 patties and broil or grill to desire doneness.
Meanwhile, in small bowl, blend cream cheese, shredded cheese, remaining Worcestershire sauce
    and mustard, mushrooms and parsley.
Spread the cheese mixture on cooked patties, top with reserved onions.
Broil or grill 30 seconds more or until the onion are golden.
    Serve on Kaiser rolls

Kids eating off your plate is actually the best way to develop their pallet. I you ask them if they want nutritious food they will most always say no.
But fix a plate more than you can eat and sit by them and let them eat your food and you can talk to them about it too…why you love the taste/crunch/texture. Does it hold a memory for you? How do you feel when you smell/taste it. What other ways do you like it. What does it bring to their mind when they eat it? How does it taste to them? What do they like about the food? Does it taste like they thought it would? What’s different?
Or just sit with them and share the plate and say nothing.
Both is developing, nourishing and bonding.

I have a gas oven. My best advice is to use an oven thermometer to check ehat the temperature actually is.
My oven will often be 50° off of what it says the temperature is. Using an oven temperature helps you to adjust accordingly.
The second tip is to wait another 5-10 minutes after it says its heated before you open the oven and put something in.

Yay,so happy to hear your finger isn’t broken! We’ve only made bread a few times and it always comes out dense, not sure why. But I wanted to mention check your oven if it’s the same as mine mine has a bread proof setting. Which does help! And I agree on folding the clothes out of the dryer I set up a folding table in our laundry room,I fold right out of the dryer and out on the table. Might take a day or two to put away but atleast it’s folded, lol!

Never thought about putting the bread in the microwave to rise. I may try that this week.

Yay! So glad it's not actually broken. Praying you'll heal soon. What style of apron are you wearing at the beginning of this video? If love to find a pattern.
