Thank you, Noah. This is a great video. I like the part of the discussion on good data and the dangers of overtraining. You're a real inspiration. I wish you great success at Worlds!
I have a great respect for Noah Lyles, so I listen to his tips and I watch what he does. My goal is to be the worlds fastest man over 60 yrs old, to when my regional and to finally to PR most times I compete. Simple things that make me reach but aren't to far fetched. GO Noah WR in Budapest!
One of the most important topics "Why" and some great advice articulate in the best possible way. Really appreciate what you are doing for the sport, it's like telling your secret sauce.
Talk about a great video! Excellent message and I was able to show this to my little boy and it really resonated. Keep being the fine young man you are and a good role model to all those youngsters looking up to you!
Noah if you ever come across this comment, just know the amount of respect and positivism I have for you. Back in HS, I was number 140 in the state and I felt special. You are one of the best in the WORLD. What a talent. Sending my ❤ and my best wishes for you.
Amazing to see a world champion athlete who is as articulate as a University Professor!!. Nice advice, for budding athletes coming directly from the very best.
I'm 66 years old and not interested in competing because I will only get injured if I compete. I just love the feeling of running fast on the track. I've been running since I was eight years old and won my school district championship for 100 yards for third graders. I ran 400 and 800 in high school. I was pretty good and won more than I lost but I could have been better if I had not been so headstrong and un-coachable. My coach, who I'm still friends with to this day--he's in his late 80s and still competes--tried to explain this to me but I couldn't listen when I was a kid. I have not competed since then but I still love to work out on the track. I do have a tendency to do too much when I'm feeling good. I watch your videos because there is always something to learn and I might as well learn from the best. Thank you!
Think he covered the 200 meters recently in several steps and points along the distance. I only saw him cover training that included shots of him starting from the blocks but no advice so to speak of.
That was me. I drove my coach crazy but he had a whole team to worry about and I was un-coachable when I was in high school. Now I'm 66, my coach is 87, and I listen to him now. ;-)
thank you so much noah this is really helpful for my training as I did 3 reps full out and got a cramp on the last rep because I went too hard leading to a bad time, now I have learnt to take the reps all at an equal and relaxed speed thank you
Thanks Noah. Very inspirational words of advice there. Well, my goals are simple. Be the fastest on Strava segments from 100 - 800 meters long in my town. Oh and I'm 61 years old so best in age group and beating 30 years younger than me so far! Cheers!
I was expecting something like, "Do these drills every day" or "balance your workout like this but this pointed out a really slept on topic that even I forsaken about myself. It really made me realize that the way I have been going about my practices was subpar.
❤ and learn from who you work hard , you role model, and willingness to share real reels , real world, and the road to real greatness . world champion …inside and out!

Thank u for the tips. Our national interschool meet will be starting soon. Its about only 1-1½ months from today. I'm so nervouse cause i didn't do track practice because our state have some social issues. I start my training about 2-3 weeks ago and my performance is so low both in term of sprint and endurance. I ran 400m but i dont think i can make it. But ur words make me think like i can do it "why am i doing this? " I always think this before every morning practice and my ans is "my family, friends, those who supports me are waiting for my success".Thanks a lot Noah for motivating me again I really love ur videos. I wish u all the best on this coming Budapest world Championship. U r one of my favorite sprinters, break the world record for us(ur fans)
My coach gives me 300m 4x sometimes 6x. I always end up sprinting the 1st 3 rep and rest the other 2 like running on my 50% and giving all out on the last one. Right after that i can't feel my body anymore💀🤣 Is it good for my body to do that?
Thank you Soo very much This has just opened my mind Because I always go hard on my trainings sometimes I have good times sometimes very slow but now I see things different
There is a time and place for everything. Even yesterday my coach told me not to go all out. He said this is a training practice not a time trial. Even I can get caught up in trying to run fast all the time but its about the big picture
@@noahlyles18 This might sound funny but I'm a Nigerian 17yrs old and I'm 5"8 and I love the track and field so much I want to make it a career with so much faith in God in that area and also building my faith in the area of me growing taller. I want to start on a gradual basis ,an inch at a time but I really want to get an advice from a serious mentor which is you😊. When I was new to christianity, the devil tried to trick me by making it more of a religion than a relationship. He tried to tell me things like "You NEED to get on your knees when you pray or when you worship", or "you HAVE to worship for this ammount of time". My friend, it's not about that, it's about a genuine relationship with God. Don't be so easily decieved by false religon man. Hallelujah.
I am 36, been practicing ''seriously'' only 4 months when I was 26, after I already had groin pain at 23 and a knee accident that obviously completely ruined my performances in any athletic engagement. In my city there are only two tracks accessible to public and overall there is no actual interest around athletics, it's all about football (soccer for you). I have been running on a mini-track that is not even properly elastic where kids use bycicles, people practices boxe or even thrwos frisbees and balls. There is no light in the evening, so during cold months is mostly impossible to do anything really. I go there once, maybe twice a week when I can according to my possibilities. So no, I am by no mean someone pursuing crazy improvements or dreaming big, yet I am there year after year. What is my why? The joy of putting yourself to test trying to improve even when you know there is not much space for it anymore because you are late. Running well is true freedom.
Please upload a better warm up for all out sprint..it must include everything...(dynamic stretches, bands for activation, hurdles drills,etc)... Please bro 🙏
sorry but those drills are the only ones that I'm willing to share. The drill Vido is supposed to be short and to the point that everyone can do. When I add extra activation drills, bands, and hurdles those are all preference to the athlete and coach. I just want to show the very basics of drills so people know what they should be looking for. I am not here to create a coaching page.
Do you have a channel or community chat that you could review footage for people and help them if they have something to work on? (cus i want to see what i can improve)
No, I'm not a coaching page. The most I do is try and help people understand some of the things in the sport that I feel are not taught properly like this vido.
Do you think this training transfers to other sports? Will it help you be fast so then you can be fast in the sport you take seriously such as soccer for me.
This can be applied in other sports. maybe not a 1for1 but it can. Say your coach only wants you to Lift weights 3 days a week but you decide to do it 6 days a week. Now your too sore to practice at the optimal level that your coach wants from you and you can't get good data from that day.

As a sprints coach, this all makes perfect sense. It's infuriating when an athlete runs a session different to what has been asked of them 👍
