  • Here is the second video in a "series to come" of the sheet metal repairs on an A-Body Mopar, 1967 Dodge Dart GT 273 4-Barrell car. All numbers matching and great ride. Doing a nice restoration but not a Concours Car. Enjoy!

Heck yes Ben. You got this. A person put it together then and we can do it now. I bet you care more about it being a good job now than when they had someone on an assembly line doing it in the 60s

thanks for the video, I am just starting to replace the floor panels in a 74 dodge dart sport, and have been practicing welding at the same time, while looking at your welds, I feel better about how mine are looking as they look about the same, I see how were sheet metal screws into the floor, what were you screwing them into, I don't understand what you were screwing it into, can't be the frame was it? other than that great video will be going back to it a few times before getting into mine.

I left a small portion of the original floor to screw the new pan to. If this were a more detailed job I would have butt-welded the new floors edge to an edge of the new floor making it "seem less". The guy this car was for was on a seriously tight budget and I was doing the best job I could for what he could afford. My preferred repair would be to do an entire floor but it's much for extensive of a repair and to be honest this car didn't need a full floor

Yo love Those videos good job I just bought 1976 dodge dart swingers slant six Looking to put a big Engine In.her 1 need to make her stronger Some sub frames Now I'm not a mechanic I think I need a rear end That's where I'm having problems I don't know what kind should I go with Looking towards the junkyard Has to be in a budget Some people are telling me to go With Ford 8.8Is that okay please get back to me on that Thank you

Hey Danny it sounds like a cool car. If you are going to go with a bigger engine I would try and find a v8 dart or other mopar rear end due to it having a good chance of just bolting in place with little to no modifications. If your going to go with another manufacturers rear end the ford 9” is legendary. As far as subframe connectors go, I’m not sure where to turn on that one but I’ve heard the front subframe has different things than a 6cyl engine so you may be modding that.
Just to throw it out there one of the guys from Roadkill Garage named Steve D does a boosted straight 6 mopar with headers. It was a really cool motor and if you have motortrend on demand you can check it out or just google it.

Budget dictates most builds. I did see a guy take a straight 6 Belvedere II and do a hellcat swap. Pretty radical but even with a blank check it’s never “right”, always in need of something. Take your time and enjoy it. Don’t get in a rush.

Yes it is a gas free welder. Standard wall outlet so no special wiring for your home.

Where did you get your floor pans that won't break your wallet? Need some for 74 duster.

The one half floor pan came from national parts depot for $99 and the AMD full section was only $189 for the drivers side. The AMD is a much better floor pan
