I liked for a clean lens and something to watch while I cook! I love the new Gitz mob (boss and diver especially), but I'm definitely disappointed that the effort went to these instead of spiders. Instead of giving spiders some life, we've added a 5th army to my army.
Love the Gitmob "Oops all wolves" Wolftime minis, but boy do they look out of place in predominantly cave-dwelling Gloomspite Gitz now. At this point I'd love to have a fully fleshed out no infantry wolf-mounted Gen'Gitz Waaaghn and the Mongrel Horde faction. Also I'm utterly disappointed the Doom Diver doesn't shoot wolves, too. I know what you're thinking but hear me out: How could they miss the opportunity to have us recreate the AoS version of the iconic flying bike scene from E.T. but this time with the silhouette of a wolf flying past a full moon with an excited "Awoooooo!" before it crashes into the enemy lines...or the dirt?
Maybe obvious, but the Orruk Endless Spells and Faction Terrain might be a sign that every faction will get those, and the generalist endless spells are eventually canned.
Agree with you guys that the gitmob doesnt look like it belongs in Gitz. It's a weird release. My take on Ironjawz is that my Army is playing a game. So they all have numbers, warchanters are cheerleaders, etc. I guess this terrain is easy to turn into a sport themed thing
@Vince we really appreciate you and your passion for gaming. I have to say your “Good reverend” impression killed me. Def needs to make a few more appearances in your future shows! 😂
Thanks, finally there is someone else other then me saying that the Orc faction terrain is just some freakign popsickles with a badly sculpted rock on top, last time I said that all the GW white knights downvoted me to oblivion :) Also idk if you noticed, but the skull endless spell is literaly the top part of the Weirdnob Shamans staff, so they didnt even bother to resculpt this thing. The swamp endless spell looks like they took the skaven Gnawhole and stretched it a bit in blender. Imo this is the laziest moneygrabbing move we've seen from GW yet
I’m so happy it’s on a base though, 100% the easiest terrain to kitbash. I literally have a foam gork idol that i sculpted unpainted in my bits box that I could throw on whatever base size that is for now.
I don’t understand the gitz choice, their place or anything about them, but it’s everything I didn’t know I wanted. I absolutely love everything about them. Didn’t think I needed another army, but I’ll get them all. My only wish is that the new gitz tome will have a faction that supports a mixed army!🎉
Ogres being left out of the initial Destruction wave bodes well. Gives the designers more time to fix all of their terrible mistakes. Surely, fourth time's the charm.
I am buying an Ogor Spearhead today just to try and trigger the eventual Ogor resculpt. Also, do you agree with Honest Rob's theory that this was repurposed Old World? I don't know - this feels too big for OW in terms of new plastic.
New Gitmob wolfboy stuff is awesome to me, and I fully expect 5th edition to remove spiders and split Gitz between underground moonclan and surface gitmob.
I don't think so. My take is that GW vastly mistrust any Destruction "sub" faction to release well on its own, and so mixes them into species Battletome, to increase the numbers of players who would buy them. We've seen this with Ironjawz and Kruleboyz who are still part of the same Orruk Warclan Battletome, despite having two entirely different Indeces.
@ oh yeah - I didn’t mean separate battletomes, just ta-ta to spiderfang, roll the trolls and squigs properly into moonclan and expand the surface sun-haters. Maybe have limited interplay between the two.
So I’ve not really picked up speed on AoS 4 so have a question regarding S2D. Is an armoured horde of warriors and knights viable for all round games? I see many lists opting for the ‘special’ unit choices but a classic horde of iron clad warriors seems old hat now?
I like the daemon prince and pledges mecanic, but I had planned to paint my guys with 5-6 colors scheme around the 4th gods (plus malal and Archaon), and I'm gonna feel weird to declare my Khorne-painted guys to be devotee of Slaanesh or Tzeentch!
@johnhildenbrand2642 Yeah, like I could bring 5 times the same units and swap them out when I pledge the undivided to a god to match the color scheme. Because enlightenment to chaos comes with a shower of paint.
While I love the new gitmob stuff, it feels like a slap in the face as a BoC player. BoC can't exist in old world and AoS at the same time, but gitmob can?!?
I dunno I'm just gonna say it. I don't think Tom has any excuses that should be considered valid in terms of sound quality or stream quality on his end. How long has he been doing this podcast ? How many complainst has there been about sound quality ? How many times has vince told him to fix it ? I feel like at this point if he gave a damn something would have changed. But here we are lol.
Glad I'm not the only one who struggles with the new Gitz release, it isn't that they are awful models, and trying to read between the lines maybe if they are adding more chariots they are finally going to try and get them right game wide, and the theme is cool in isolation, but weren't we all thinking spiders are probably going to get split or removed altogether? Adding another subfaction seems like a very odd choice if that's what we're doing. I know the gitz are one of the more popular armies, so they likely get more love than average, but this doesn't make a lot of sense to me
This whole faction looks like a resculpt for Old World that was rebased last minute (especially the hero that is COMPLETELY fitting for the description of a named Goblin Character in the TOW O&G Arcane Journal)
It's possible, but I would believe it if it didn't happen with just Gitz. The fact Frydall released as part of Old World and wasn't similarly thrown in with AoS as an StD Hero (even a generic one) sounds weird. My personnal take is that GW just doesn't trust the Destruction subculture to sell well independently and have their own Battletome. They've tried that with 1st Edition and ended up grouping most of them a few years later. Hell, Orruk Warclan is still a single Battletome, despite Kruleboyz and Orruk Warclans having separate Army Rules...
welp looks like my 6 units of chaos chosen wont have a -1 to wound and -1 rend anymore. Tzeentch is still pretty much useless. This is like the third change to STD within about a year and some change. so far I already prefer the last cycle than this.
That new terrain piece is just terrible. The endless spells look bad and make you feel bad. The foot on the ground was a cop out rather than it stepping/ stomping from above with some magic supporting it. New gits look good, but so obviously meant for the Old World, right down to the hero general being ripped from the WH character, to the weapon. Excited for the upcoming Deathrattle stuff though.
Sure, Tom is on a phone, but he didn't constantly pound the table or hit the mic so it feels like a massive improvement.
Omg the preacher bit, that was golden.

It’s not Thanksgiving without Warhammer weekly. Thanky for you gents.
the gitmob is a day one buy for me. Goblins riding wolves is a classic fantasy trope.

yet again Chaos Warriors and Daemon Princes the iconic models of the range are somehow an afterthought in the rules lol.
The first to 2 mins are must watch... Love it..
I don’t understand the gitz choice, their place or anything about them, but it’s everything I didn’t know I wanted.

A like for the Religious Revelations presentation.

Wouldn't it be cheaper to get Tom some handcuffs rather than a new mic so he can cuff himself to the desk before you start?
00:00:02 'Tom?' you guys are just setting this up now. It's too funny:)
That terrain looks like a rejected piece of terrain for a Kill Team box.

@@joehill6916 That could be it.
rip Tom's warshrine

Wdym? Everything covered in heavy armor is the good stuff. Knights, chosen or varanguard make the core of almost every s2d army.
@ fair enough. I hear a lot about chosen and Theridons and the like. Just wondered if a horde of metal was still pretty good 😊
I like the daemon prince and pledges mecanic, but I had planned to paint my guys with 5-6 colors scheme around the 4th gods (plus malal and Archaon), and I'm gonna feel weird to declare my Khorne-painted guys to be devotee of Slaanesh or Tzeentch!
I mean...you COULD just do as GW prefers and build an entire army devoted to each of the gods 😂😂😂
@johnhildenbrand2642 Yeah, like I could bring 5 times the same units and swap them out when I pledge the undivided to a god to match the color scheme. Because enlightenment to chaos comes with a shower of paint.

Kinda insane the darkoath heroes are more expensive than the warriors of chaos equivalents… Darkoath heroes should be like 80 pts each
I’m all Gitz mob all I want is wolf riders!
the swamp endless spell is so lazy, banner from the murknob and a part of the sludgeraker harness copy pasted
/pray for orcs
Seems to me, the design team is generally drunk and doesn't play AOS
S2D is dead to me now...marks being gone just kills the theme way too much for me.

Evangelizing Slaanesh is a gold mine of comedy youve only scratched the surface of. I hope you keep mining
