I would counter that she was only the SECOND most dangerous horcrux. As an unintentionally created horcrux which remained undiscovered by voldemort, harry potter was technically the most dangerous horcrux. He was a wildcard, an unknown uncontrolled variable, the thing that led to voldemorts downfall, but equally could have lead to the subjugation of all humanity had harry not had his morals and the fortitude to stick to them. Had harry broken bad, had he joined voldemort, it would have meant the end of the world. This is why Harry was more dangerous as a horcrux than nagini

Putting your shot at immortality into something mortal is very counterproductive. I have a more interesting theory. Voldemort didn't create Nagini's Horcruxe because he just wanted one more, he felt it would be one way for him to get back to a physical body. When he was in his spectral form, he met her in Albania, and figured that if he possessed her like he was used to possessing other snakes, as he ate a human, he, in her mind, would be able to produce himself in that baby form from her body. So whilst in possession of Nagini he ate Bertha, creating this bond between him and Nagini from a Horcrux, then stayed in her until he was birthed by Nagini. This would explain why he needs her venom to sustain himself almost as if she was "nursing" her baby, and also this horrific idea could explain why Rowling's editor was so appalled by what she almost included in the book, but he recommended leaving it out because it was too gruesome. Also, the fact that Nagini used to be a witch, and that we don't know if maledictus die of old age (as they are cursed to live as an animal "for ever", and that could mean they can't die of natural causes) would add to the advantage of him having created her as a Horcrux. Voldemort made sure he created some Horcruxes that would make him be able to come back from them if he dies, like the Diary too.

Actually, nagas natural enemies r garudas. A Garuda is described as a human torso and arms, with bird wings, legs and head. I suppose in HPverse they might look like that, but as there and irl, garudas r Indian phoenixs just as thunderbirds r the Native American version. Its a shame that she didn't appear in the 3rd Fantastic Beasts film cause the actress was pregnant; they could've recast her with consent from the og.

I think he liked her, because she was a human who turned into a snake, the sigil of slitherin house. By permanently becoming the snake, she has shed herself of her weakness, just like Voldemort wants to do with his past and father!
Since he speaks to snakes, nagini would have told voldemort ger life story! Of course that probably brought them closer. After turning her into a horcux, nagini and voldemort become one in a way. I bet through the horcrux connection, nagini may slightly feel what its like to be human again.
The closest she will become to becoming human. To make nagini human again, means destroying what she is now...which has a piece of voldemort locked away! To fix her, requires a risk of killing that piece of yourself locked away. Sadly its an unnecessary risk, in a power hungry pricks eyes.

From what I have understood about Maledictus curse, unlike Animagus where you know that you are human, with Maledictus like Nagini was, by the time of Voldemort finding her, she had no memory left about being a human once... really sad.

I have this theory that the first horcrux was also the first (or one of the first) basiliks. Here's why I think so
    * Herpo the Foul invented both
    * He's the first parseltongue. As far as we know it only passes on genetically (Harry doesn't count because he had a bit of Tom's soul in him). I think if his soul was bonded to a serpent he could speak parseltongue
    * Voldemort's rudimentary body requires snake venom as one of its ingredients. The only reason a rudimentary body would be needed is for a horcrux user.
    * Voldemort looks snake-like after so many horcruxes, and it's never been established why snake-like. If the OG horcrux was a snake...
    * With his soul being bonded to a basilisk it could potentially work as an extension of Herpo the Foul and thus an incredibly effective familiar
I guess you could argue on whether the basilisk venom would made it incompatible but I don't think so; I see it more as how snakes can get poisoned but they don't poison themselves with their own venom sacs. And yes Herpo would still be mortal (if prolonged because of basilisk longevity) but we don't know why he even made a horcrux in the first place. He doesn't need the same motivation as Tom Riddle

But, WOULD he have turned her human? With Voldemort reveling in being able to control others, I really don't think he would've turned Nagini back into a human; there's a very high risk that she would've left him once she regained her human form. By promising to turn her back into a human, Voldemort held power over Nagini, I don't think he would risk giving up that power by giving her what she wanted.

I have a somewhat related question. What was voldemorts total and overall experience of the afterlife? Or, where ever he went. When thinking about it, if he won, and say, his main body died of old age, that sliver of soul that he's primarily experiencing through, goes into the ether. Right? So then thus opening the other horcruxes to release voldemort again, that would be a different voldemort. Right? Or, the same one cut from a different time. Or would voldemorts experience, be all if the individual perspectives of each horxrux at once?

I don’t really remember how Nagini was described in the books outside of what was said in this video, but based on her appearance in the movies, she was a reticulated python and is a constrictor snake which means she does not have any venom. However, like I said, that’s just based on the movies. I don’t remember how she was in the books.

    • @RVII
      @RVII 8 місяців тому +6

She had venom in both the movies and the books (even though she was a constrictor)... When Voldy was still in his rudimentary body, he was using her venom to survive. Her venom is also what made Arthur Weasly's wounds not heal after she attacked him.

A triangular head, as described in the books, is a feature of pit vipers. The movie probably made her look more like a python just because it's the biggest snake. But when you have humans turning into snakes, why not a gigantic copperhead? (Although, in realty, given the magical properties of her venom, she's not supposed to represent a real snake; she's supposed to be a naga.)

I wish there was more lore that enumerated spells a bit more, so we could begin to understand the concept of voldemort making a dragon out of fire and dumbledore dick slapping it away. Voldemort being able to turn Nagini back into human-form would have been very interesting. Would she look as she did or would she look even more snake-ish like Voldemort. Would she be able to re-adjust into being a human in human society with everything that comes with that or would she be and stay animalistic? Would she be able to use wand magic or have to re-learn it, if so would it be traditional or would she have very strong non-verbal magic instead? Perhaps she wouldnt bother and rely on her snake-shifting abilities.. This is very interesting stuff to think about. Personally id assume she either has extremely strong non-verbal magic or she wouldnt bother as much with that or at all and rely on her other magic powers instead and im absolutely sure she would become rivals with Bellatrix Lestrange since her being special having a special place in the dark lords inner circle someone he can absolutely trust and rely upon would have driven Bellatrix utterly insane (yes even more) with jealousy.

For the same reason why he made his diary something to be used and not hidden: because he already had a bunch of souls tucked away in safely-guarded vessels. And Nagini, if she is a naga, would be immortal. Plus there's the fact that he can be a snake through her, which gives Volde a hard-on because he's very obsessed with snakes since he learned he was a descendant of Slytherin. I mean, take your average horse-crazy little girl and tell her she can merge herself at will with a horse and gallop around whenever she wants and you'd be rich with little girls selling their souls to do it. I think Voldemort is the same way about snakes.
Plus, plus, no one's ever done it before, which also gives Volde a boner. Horcruxes are theoretical magic. If I remember correctly, there was one person who supposedly made one, but that might be a legend more than reality. Horcruxes were Voldemort's main area of research--like the Deathly Hallows were Dumbledore's and the Philosopher's Stone was Flamel's. He wanted to know all there was to know about them. Can you put one into a living being, and, if so, does that give you control over that being? Burning questions that need to be answered, said Voldemort.

    Wow bad take.
Peter literally gave up his literal body to bring Voldemort back to life.
Peter wasn’t a coward AT ALL.
The SERIOUS coward was the man who was the SECRET KEEPER and he literally betrayed the Potters the very moment he was told.
I mean, the Fidelius Charms SURVIVED DEATH. So if Sirius would’ve ACTUALLY died for his friends, why tell Peter?????
Peter was without a doubt the most powerful Marauder, after James. Saying he put a Horcrux in Nagini bc he KNEW Peter was going to leave him the very second he could, yet he never did?
    Yeah terrible take, nor accurate.
What is your deal with just ignoring facts in evidence mate?
Sirius betrayed the Potters NOT Peter.
Also, there’s literally no evidence that Sirius would’ve died for anyone BUT the Potters-and even so, he immediately went on and betrayed them and broke the charm the very second he was told their location. If you ever wanted to know why ppl believed that Sirius betrayed the Potters, it’s BECAUSE HE DID. Every wizard knew that Sirius was the Secret Keeper and that the only way to break the charm is by telling someone else. Consequently they knew he had to have told the location…which HE DID. He just didn’t tell VOLDEMORT. Voldemort found out SECONDHAND.

Wooow wow you have a lot of information wrong.
Sirius didn’t tell Peter the secret.
Peter was the actual secret keeper
At the last minute they switched who it was.
Only Sirius, Peter, James and lily knew that it was switched.
Also no one knew before hand who the secret keeper was that would defeat the purpose.
Sirius whole plan was that Voldemort would assume it was him and torture him to reveal it when he couldn’t possibly reveal it because he wasn’t the actual secret keeper.
FYI if Sirius was the secret keeper than Peter *couldnt* have told Voldemort where the potters were hidden. Only the secret keeper can tell. Individuals let in on the secret *cant* tell others.
Peter hid under the shadows of powerful ppl.
He went to Voldemort because he thought he was more powerful than even dumbledore.
That is what a coward is
They do not stand up for the right things and choose the easy way out
