    Revisited Tanah Merah MRT Station, the new platform will be using two KONE lifts.

    They can at least designed it to look like the original one. The new roof look out of place. The Jurong East new platform blend in seamlessly

    But isn’t tel train different length as ewl train?

      It doesn't really matter TEL trains are shorter than EWL trains as the middle two platforms will be for TEL trains and the two outermost platforms are for EWL trains.

    Should that be to/fro Changi Airport?
    anyway a great feat of engineering.
    Good to know the increase trains to Airport. Often the wait has been long.

      @@chentianyang6907 Looking at the front of Blk 65, you will see Bedok Stadium. However looking at the side near the lift door of Blk 65, can see Tanah Merah MRT station.

    They could've at least made the new platform the same theme as tanah merah. Now it looks like some random popup temporary platform. Unless its actually temporary and they're gonna change it later.

      TEL rolling stock was designed to operate in both underground and above ground. TEL rolling stock was supposed to be used in the RTS Link (above ground) but the Malaysian government later changed the RTS Link to become a LRT system

      The new platform opens at abt 2030 to 2040

      @@Misreablecasesinrobloxworld. no first have to close the section east of Aljunied to Pasir Ris or Changi Airport to connect the tracks. This is totally different than today's one at UPD. In any case, it is a planned closure and announced by the LTA and SMRT respectively.

      my guess in next 4 years, with planned closures similar to JEMP in next 2. (they seem pretty much done with the viaducts, now just left the systems needed and tracks)

      @@PrograError hmmm yes. it is three phase closure as it has to go through three worksites. My guess it will be on November 2024 if they wish to open fast track with DTL3e and TEL5. No worries as there will be crowding on DTL due to diversionary crowd.

      In fact I was waiting for double decker bus 2, 9 or 31 at Bedok MRT. My plan was to board the first bus that comes if the front seat of upper deck is not occupied

    If the tracks were built ground level there, or partially underground, there wouldn’t be much difference in land use. Think about all the wasted land below those viaducts today. In the eighties we were told there would be parks below them, today not all have parks under them. Just sand patches and bushes.

      Key reasons for the introduction of new viaduct were due to the new East Coast Integrated Depot which houses three MRT Lines (DTL, TEL and EWL) and to make the segment between Tanah Merah to Changi Airport fully dual tracks
