It's surprising that there're no plans to build a station within the whampoa/balestier estate despite HDB implementing new BTO projects in an already conjested neighbourhood.
@@onecupofeasyoats The new BTOs there are super tall which may pose an issue to drilling underground tunnels in that area. If all goes well the future SLL is supposed to have a station at whampoa. Anyway isn’t that area already quite central? Can just hop onto a bus and reach Orchard within 15 minutes.
@@Hippodude5Yeah, I can see how there're infrastructual complications that require careful consideration especially with lots of old estates in the vacinity. It is very central but also incredibly compact. Most buses from St. Mich's terminal go through the stretch of flats, which tends to get conjested during peak hour. It takes about 20mins to get through the neighbourhood on a bad day. It also takes 1.5hrs by public transport to get to places like Jurong West - I've tried it once and it took longer to get to the West than where I currently live (Serangoon/Kovan). The closest station to most places in whampoa is also a 15-min bus ride in all directions (novena, toa payoh, and boon keng).
@@onecupofeasyoats But how often would u go to Jurong West though? Unless your workplace is there. 15-min bus ride to centralised stations on red/blue/purple line sounds good to me. Majority of HDBs require a feeder bus to reach their nearest MRT anyway.

I think you can end the Seletar Line at Prince Edward Station since it is a cross-platform station. Likely that it is made to accommodate for a Seletar Line?
Good catch. I also believe it is Tavistock instead of Serangoon North who is being provisioned to serve as an interchange station for the Seletar Line.
You could also make a SG MRT/LRT map that features and shows the original/extension/branch/unopened/unused lines or stations - like example: Punggol North LRT Branch Line, Gul Circle/EWL’s Tuas South Extension and North Shore MRT/LRT line
north shore line is technically just the top part of the cross island line, the cross island branch, and the top part of the unnamed "seletar line". just need a connection from punggol to the seletar line
I have a question which I hope someone can answer Why does Founders' Memorial have an 'A' in its Alpha-numeric code, if it was planned before the stations around it opened, why wasn't the numbers for the subsequent stations updated?
no one knows. TE4A is also planned right from the start. they literally build the station box together with the other lines. TE22A station box is also planned from the start. but seems like they do not want to skip numbers now so we have this awkward letter A behind now even though these are planned station boxes. same for JS2A, they literally leave space for an island platform for the station (so it is planned) unlike the other infill station such as dover, sungei kadut and canberra being side platform. only brickland deserve the A letter since there is never a station planned in between.
Founders' Memorial was only planned when the tel stations were announced so if they dont put an A behind the number, imagine if lta decided not to built founders memorial, then there would be an awkward number skip between gbtb and tanjong rhu
@emrys382 the station box is planned long before founders memorial is to be built. In 2018 they accidentally upload a map with tel22a garden bay east. So even without the memorial, that area will still be for future extension of gardens by the bay east and the station would serve there. We already have ns6 and ne2 siting for so long (and ns12 previously). Having an empty te23 code is not much different
@BananaSolid you could actually add a new future possible station called "Lentor East", which is between Khatib and YCK (Yio Chu Kang) stations and located close to Lower Seletar Reservoir, where the "rumoured" disneyland was
