- This is my biggest project to this date. It's definitely not perfect but I tried my best. There is one thing that I'm extremely happy about and that is the use of second subharmonics in this cover. You can hear one second subharmonic at the end of Geoff's solo and one at the very end of this cover. Both go down to a G1. Enjoy!
Disclaimer: This is VoicePlay's arrangement and they did an awesome job. I just tried to recreate it to the best of my abilities.
Special thanks to Matt Sandler for making sheet music for VoicePlay's arrangement: • Aca-Disney - VoicePlay
And also special thanks to some amazing people from the Bass Singing Nation Discord server for helping me figuring out some of the lyrics.
Don‘t expect too much guys, this is my first big project.
Anyway it's awesome!
Holy crap! Those were some of the best second subharmonics I’ve ever heard! Good job :)
Thank you so much! Yeah, I am very happy that I was able to get these so cleanly.
This is honestly the best Voiceplay cover I have ever heard, especially with the falsettos and the G1.
Thank you so much dude! That’s such a big compliment🙏🏻❤️
@@jmbmusic1 You’re welcome!
You're get big job! Those 2nd subharmonics! Nice job, my man!
Thank you very much bro! I‘m very happy that I got the second subharmonics!
This is sick man, Very well done!
Thanks man❤️🙏🏻 But honestly this is still nothing compared to your production level, but it‘s a step in the right direction.
Nice second subharmonics!
Thank you! 🙏🏻❤️
That sub harmonic note was top noch man. Great job keep it going.
Thank you so much! It‘s the best thing about the cover😄
You are an honorary bass man, bravo!
Thanks!
This is awesome!! Those 2nd subs are top notch!
Thank you! I think they’re the best part about this video haha!
Those second subharmonics got into my souls, wow, beautifully done. the Ingressive phonation is basically the same as layne's lol, keep working on this, you're awesome!
Wow, thank you so much! I‘m glad you enjoyed it! ❤️🙏🏻
DAMNNN you nailed this bro - well done!
Thank you so much Casper! It really means a lot!❤️🙏🏻
I have news for you today I have A flat to G this morning. I have been repeating this video so many times. You are a tenor but you sung bass. Keep on pressing hard.
Wow amazing control, amazing runs and Subharmonics and low and high notes, all in all PERFECT for your first time if it is
Thank you so much!!!!🙏🏻❤️
Yes, it is indeed the first time I tried covering something like this.
Damn that was cool. Arabian night section bass was 🔥🔥
Given me a slight inspiration too. Keep it up and you should defo do more a capella covers
Thank you very very much🙏🏻❤️ I‘m glad you liked it!
Bassline works with me, respect 🙋♂️..
Thanks!
Ich feier deine Inhale Technik voll! Richtig gut! Du verstehst, wie man arrangiert und das ist sehr wichtig! Weiter so!
Vielen Dank! Die meisten tiefen Noten hier waren tatsächlich subharmonics. Und die Sache mit dem arrangieren... Naja, das hier war ja nur ein Cover😉. Trotzdem ein riesiges Dankeschön❤️🙏🏻
That's actually good, man. Hope to see you growing and developing.
Thanks dude!
2:18 your inhale is on point brotha!
Haha, thanks! But honestly that’s not inhale, but a first subharmonic on the D2 and a second sub for the G1 😁
Same thing also goes for the very last low note in the cover.
I really like that you are a tenor but still use low notes and also i like your editing keep going man you have potential
Thanks! I really appreciate it!
You are also good in Beatboxing, especially on that Ingressive Part, down to D1.
Thanks dude! Yeah that ingressive thing is probably what I can do best.
👍
Well done! What audio-mixing program did you use?
Thanks! Everything you hear is made in GarageBand 🎸
This is really awesome
Thanks! 🙏🏻
OK this was awesome @voiceplay
Haha, thanks dude! I don’t think VoicePlay will see this but who knows?🤷🏼♂️
So from what I can tell, I'm able to get all 1st octave notes with 1st subharmonics. But I still have no idea how to activate 2nd and 3rd subs
You‘ll eventually figure it out. But honestly, if you can already hit the whole 1st octave with normal subs there‘s like almost no reason to even care about 2nd or 3rd subs.
@@jmbmusic1
Well the thing is, I actually don't know. I might actually be using 2nd and 3rd but I have no idea how to recognize it. I doesn't feel/sound any different
@@OvenAssociation I would bet that it’s probably just 1st subs. The switch from first to second or third subs is rather noticeable.
Schon ganz gut ! Du hast alle "Rollen" gut abgedeckt und dein bestes gegeben. Für die Bassline kann ich dir nur den Tipp geben, dass du näher ans mic ran gehst. Also fast berühren so zu sagen.
You sure your a tenor cause those low notes like damnnnnnnnn even sound better than Geoff chest
Haha, I‘m sure that I‘m a Tenor. I literally can’t go lower than an F2 most of the time with my chest voice 😄
Thank you very much for your compliment! I really appreciate it!
@@jmbmusic1 yea what a classic bass is like E2 that’s what a like opera bass is not this like basso profundo stuff and you can sing one tone higher like I thought I’m a baritone but I can barely hit a D2 and like A#4 but that’s just chest falsetto I go higher
And I suck subs and inhale and phonation and fry but I can do growl only for like from G1 to A1. Just those subs were CLEANNNN
Will give you kudos for trying but your little flat and pitch. Not trying to be mean but if you dont know what the problems are you cant fix them. You might want to find a vocal coach either locally or on internet. But keep practicing!
Thanks for the feedback! I always appreciate constructive criticism.
I am actually good at singing on pitch but with this project I tried something that I never did before and I didn’t have the time to practice all the parts enough so they ended up being a little pitchy In a few places. Most of that was fixed later with a little bit of pitch correction ( not a lot of that, but just as much as necessary ).
For some better sounding things check out my channel. I recommend my barbershop tags, they’re quite good.
The Arabian Night section was amazing!
Thank you so much! Yeah, that’s also my favorite.
Genuinely curious. What's your lowest and highest note because you have very nice control
Well.... „Natural“ daily range: Chest voice from F2 - A4 and Falsetto up to approximately A5.
@@jmbmusic1 holy crap A5??? I can only dabble in the 4th octave in fallsetto or head, I lost mine from Spamming to much no joke...
Very nice belting, I have a deep voice so I don't really get to go up that high in chest, but I use mixed voice alot, I want to get better tone and better vibrato and be able to do riffs and runs, not sure if I'll ever make it their tho.
For me I my daily COMFORTABLE chest range is from like C2/C#2-B3, but if I really try then I can usually reach F4/F#4 Sometimes, I kick into mixed around there tho
@@kn3236 Nice! I am also still not very good at a LOT of things but practice makes perfect ;)
Good luck on your singing journey!
@@jmbmusic1 shlank you m8
You seem to be slipping into subharmonics whilst speaking, near the end of the video!
Yeah, it happens sometimes. Especially when the voice is tired.
How do I tell if my subs are first or second?
@@tizwigtfc6566 When you sing a comfortable middle to low range chest note and add some relaxation or tension to it a note exactly an OCTAVE below will appear. That is a first sub. If you now find the sweet spot WITHIN that subharmonic note, add the right tension or relaxation, a note exactly a FIFTH below the first subharmonic will appear. Now THAT is a second sub. It‘s HIGHLY unlikely that you are accidentally singing second subs as they are way more difficult to hit than first subs. Hope this helps.
@@jmbmusic1 helps a lot actually

Those G1s are so good
@@Guest.7289_2Thank you :)
@@jmbmusic1 you're welcome
Are you in a group or not
Unfortunately not. I don’t know of any a cappella groups in my area. But I sing in a couple of choirs.
How you record this🔥??
I used GarageBand to record and mix everything and used sheet music that I found to figure the individual parts out.
How u eq the bass?
Well, I simply look up the frequencies of the notes that I sang and than I boost those to my liking. And sometimes also dropping bits on the high end helps with some notes.
@@jmbmusic1 Ur range doesn't have limits 𝄞 𝄡 𝄢
@@harmonicedge_music Well, it definitely has it‘s limits but I just like to try to get as close to those limits as possible ;)
That sub harmonic note was top noch man. Great job keep it going.
