This is an absolutely gorgeous arrangement by Geoff. Sticking to 5 part harmony with minimal percussion in this one is completely unexpected but oh so beautiful. VoicePlay are the masters at respecting an original song while at the same time completely making it their own.

This arrangement is such a groove. It hits in all the right places. I hate to speak sacrilege, but I think I prefer this one. Thanks, guys, you are truly a treasure!
I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Geoff's arrangement of this that allows DeeJay to truly shine. DeeJay pulls off being himself with huge MJ flavor and those effortless high notes that just float up into the ether. He was the perfect one to feature! The tight jazz chords and vocals-rich a capella throughout most of it is genius arranging! Eli's solo gives slightly heavier rock vibes while staying in the same tenor space with a richer timbre than DeeJay's light contratenor feel. Cesar is producing many of the 7ths (and *I think* augmented 9ths, didn't get to the keyboard to analyze) that make the jazz chords so rich and satisfying. I kinda wish he had a bigger moment to step out of the mix too and let his voice offer another flavor, but he's doing such a phenomenal job of being in the middle structure of the chords that unless you have a trained ear, picking his part out is nearly impossible...and that is the point! The BLEND is SO damn perfect! When it builds toward the end and Layne's percussion comes in, it pairs perfectly with Geoff's bass guitar riff. I love that Layne is actually singing in his beautiful baritone before the piece builds to where he comes in with the percussion and Cesar drops to the baritone. Each one of them is delivering their own brand of flirtatious sass throughout this performance and it is SOOO damn sexy! Like karenponchak5304 said, "It's so smooth it's criminal." I could not agree more! Oh, and I gotta say KUDOS too to Ed Boyer for the excellent sound engineering...yeah, he's working with perfection anyway, but the mix is incredible!
I don't even know how to describe how the chords in this arrangement make me feel. Lush, rich, indulgent.....it's like taking a bite of the most perfect chocolate cake. Ideally sweet but not too sweet and still has the bite in the background of the bitterness of strong cacao.
Geoff's arrangement is awesome. I like the vibe. Everyone is great, as always, but DeeJay's voice is just incredible and fits the song so well. Congratulations guys!
This is so good! I love the chill setting, and DeeJay just freakin' killed it again! From Eli's vocals and Cesar's tall hair, to Geoff's drops into basement, this arrangement is just killer!! And it was so good to get to hear so much of Layne's gorgeous voice! Great job to all!!! ❤
Never cared much for Michael Jackson but, as usual, Voiceplay can arrange anything to make it a new favourite. And with Deejay's velvet voice to top it all ! Wow !
This was the best cover of this song. I hope that if someone makes a musical about the life of Michael Jackson, they will ask Deejay to play the main role. 😍😍😍
The way this song, this arrangement makes me feel, is indescribable. Geoff, you are a master at the give and take, the push and pull, the ebb and flow of an arrangement. The way you play with major when you expect minor, minor when you expect major, is nothing short of masterful. This song is fun and sexy and makes me feel absolutely euphoric. The performances here are exceptional - I love how in VoicePlay, you have five individual singers that both blend AND sing out in their own unique voices. Super happy and proud to have been a part of helping you create this one, as part of the Patreon community. 🤘🤟😍🥰

This may be my second comment (can't find my first one to add to it). I have listened to this performance many times now and I think it is one of your best! The mood, the harmonies, DeeJay singing the lead with his light high notes and flourishes, Geoff's booms rightly placed, and the guys accompanying. I also enjoyed DeeJay's flirting with the camera. And when the last section came in with Layne's awesome beatboxing - wow! Thank you for such a classy cover of MJ's tune. Glad you weren't intimidated by his fame to try it.
Thank you for all your beautiful music. As I care for my Mom as she ends her battle with Alzheimer's, your music lightens my heart as I watch her slip away. Thank you
Gorgeous rendition of this song! The mixing is particularly good; I love that we can really hear Layne’s harmonies! And so much growl technique from Geoff that rumbles very quietly but nicely at points. The harmonies are perfect and Deejay’s riffs and ad-libs are the cherry on top!
