- A gun review of the Atlas Gunworks Athena V2 - a super high end 2011 style pistol sure to turn the heads of everyone on the range. A similar gun to the Staccato, STI, or Bul Armory pistols that are becoming increasingly popular.

these guns are incredible. I recently went to a class where one of the participants had one, and he was having TERRIBLE luck with it. And this was after he had sent it in for maintenance. But then i’ve seen a lot of comments from people about 0 hiccups ever with theirs. Such is life

Just bought it today, i cant wait.
This channel is so dope.
Just got mine; you’d be batshit crazy to carry this. Safety is very snicky and comes off and on very easily. Trigger breaks on mine at 1 lbs 12 oz with no wear on it at all.
Finally losing a $6000 pistol in a defensive shoot would suck.

Great review. If I had the guts to youtube and the eloquence I would have put out a review that pretty much echoed yours. I have one with the step grip going on if you want to do a follow up. The gun is so satisfying to shoot that my wife volunteered to pay for hers
If the audio is messed up and you use any kind of Bluetooth headphones, make sure you have both turned on, should fix it.

Stereo is a workaround.
Audio is messed up trying to listen on iPad. Fades in and out. Turned all the way up and I can hardly hear you. Wish I had a headset.

Great review as always. Please do a review on the Atlas NYX with RDS. Yes it is expensive but that is not the point. I recently bought one and it puts the Staccato P and C2 to shame, which I am selling. You can tell your viewers to sell their other guns and get an Atlas.

I wanna see a re-upload!! The intro and b-roll audio played just fine so it's the main narration audio that needs the edit. Please re-do as I wanna know more about the atlas!

You can get "carry texture" they knock down the edges and it makes it much more comfortable to carry
Are the mags hand folded and polished? How do they justify a magazine costing so much?
Those are nice got to shoot one a couple months ago. Unfortunately the ria hayes custom 2011 that I have is as close as I'm willing to go with that platform

I have this V2 Athena but run an SRO which co-witnesses perfectly and with a large window makes this setup. Yes it’s horrifically expensive but you have to shoot it to understand that it is indeed worth it. One last thing I did run my MantisX 10 on the rail, it’s a bit tight but just push harder. It gets easier

I have the same issue on both platfoms. But I'll be back when it's re-uploaded.
Sounds like one channel is out of phase with the other. Like if you're using L/R microphones, the polarity of one of the mic cables is backwards.
@@spingarn this video was recorded using a wireless lav - single channel so far as I know.
Over the course of a year, speaking for myself, I'll spend around 4-5 grand on new firearms, and that's on a good year, not including ammo&accessories etc. Seriously considering saving up 2023 and just obtaining an ultra high end piece to add to the collection. So hard though, I go through my phases of poly-strikers, DA/SAs, ARs, and PCCs.
Motto I live by, “BUY ONCE CRY ONCE.” Just ordered my atlas NYX. Have the same issue lol. Spend 2-3k a year on everything. It’s worth it.
My thinking was how many more slutted up $2400 Glocks can you build? Buy something exceptional, quality over quantity. This is a gun to buy when you’ve already got an extensive collection.
Sorry Folks I own Les Baer, Ed Brown, Wilson Combat, Guncrafter Industries, Salient Arms Strike One Tier One ect. and None of these come CLOSE to the ATLAS Athena. This PISTOL is in a class all by itself.
I own an Athena myself and couldn’t agree more. That said, local gunsmiths tend to rail on the Atlas guns and say the ed browns and Les baers are better. I can’t for the life of me understand why they would think that.

It a very nice pistol! Staccatto P is more affordable for me. Audio is good shocking was the Stereo was more noticeable than most YT video's on my puter!

Them TSOs are nice, and so are the staccatos, but this is on a whole other level
yeah a staccato is like a bersa compared to this thing. there is no cz in the world that should ever be in the same consideration of an atlas.
I have a cajunized CZ P01 and CZ SP01 that I shoot extremely well. I recently picked up a Staccato C2 and like it so much, I'm considering getting ride of the SP01 and buying another Staccato or save up for an Atlas.
I would love this in a compact version!!!
They have the nyx which is more compact. Only a couple videos by third party here but check them out.

I'm honestly not sure how flexible either would be on a 10mm. SVI does more outlandish stuff - if you like to stay inside the lines a little bit then the Atlas guns are good guns.

@@TheHumbleMarksman my only complaint about the Bul is the only optic offering is shield rms, no other footprints for a durable optic.

As I’m in Canada and can’t take full advantage of a 2011 as our mags are capped at 10 , I picked up a Bul Armory Trophy Saw 1911 9mm that loads 10+1 for $2200 USD
However unlike an Atlas , it needed a bit of smithing OTB as the factory didn’t get the trigger/sear interface quite right - also I had the thumb safety stiffened and the beaver tail safety pinned for comp shooting - added Armanov asymmetrical CNC’d grips - but zero problems since after 3000 rnds
Also had the chamber bored a bit larger to ensure proper feed for reloaded casings
The Bul runs like a sewing machine , great very light trigger and ergos , shoots flat and accurate with irons , have shot a 1/2” three shot group offhand @25 yds into the X
Fist sized groups shooting Bill drills at about 2.25 sec
My guess is that Atlas does a better job hand fitting their pistols but for the money , Bul makes a pretty cool gun IMO

I could have sent it half way across the country to have the Canadian disto guy’s gunsmith assess it - but as I wanted a few more things done to it anyway , I decided to have someone I trust who specializes in custom comp 1911’s to get it running exactly the way I wanted
For $150 I had the gun back in my hands in a few days and running perfectly - basically I didn’t want to wait
Beautiful pistol but don't know if I could ever justify spending that kind of coin on a pistol even if I had it...:)
Audio worked fine for me. Atlas is not a Dollar General kind of pistol.
The barrel being longer than the slide is not a bug, it's a feature.
But the infinity guns with the blended barrels and guide rods look really pretty

Not currently - but they are introducing Limited Optics next year that it will qualify for

For the money, would you prefer atlas or bul armory? Is it worth the 2-3k price difference?
Considering you can't buy an Atlas Chaos anymore - I guess Bul on that front. The slide to frame fit is tighter on the Atlas, the trigger is fit better to the frame on the Atlas. I can't comment on durability with either really yet - the Bul I have has 5k rounds that I've put on it. I haven't tried a Honcho but I hear good things. I've also shot SVI open guns in 38 - and two of them feel about like 9maj and one of them was observably better.

Did you happen to shoot Atlas Artemis? I didn’t see your review of it. But though I ask. If I understand correct they will allow sight block in limited optics and if that so the Artemis may be a better choice?

Also, did you use the aggressive grips? I've read there's a big difference between that and standard. They almost sound violent! Like your hand skin and the grip will be in one on one combat while you shoot...and the grips win. Every time.

just as a heads up - the difference between like a Glock and Stacatto - where the Glock feels like a toy - that's about the difference between a Stacatto and an Atlas. You're well into diminishing returns curve at that point - but from a pride in ownership standpoint - it doesn't even come close.

Most of the metal 2011 grips have pinned grip safeties - I should have mentioned it but didn’t

I’ve got an X10 elite, and with most metal 1913 rails you have to force it on, whereas with polymer pistols it slides right on
