CRAZY TOPWATER BARRAMUNDI / AWOONGA DAM

All I can say is wow!
This is so much fun fishing for meter plus Barra in next to no water with surface lures.The bite, the fight and the fish are next level and by far the best way to catch Barramundi in my opinion.
The boys from Compeat angler Gladstone helped me out and Trent jumped on board to show me around the dam and give a glimpse of this sensational fishing on offer at Awoonga dam.
Walking Molix WTD 150 and 120 surface lures across the super shallow weed, these huge Barra left me shaking in my boots as they exploded on the surface.

Love Awoonga Dam, my best was 1.2 mt and just under 36 kg on a Saruna 125F Owner 4 trebble hooks. Can never forget that monster almost totally jumped out of the water gills flared. Enjoy.

Can I ask what size reel and braid/leaders you guys were using? I got the 200 conquest and have failed to stop the bigger fish so have gone out bought the 300 as well🤣
