  • In between thunderstorms, I managed to get the 1967 Mercury Commuter Wagon unloaded onto a concrete surface. Now, I'll be changing the fuel pump, removing and cleaning the gas tank, and making it drivable. Wish me luck, it's stormy out here! Let's do this! Edited by VideoGuru:videoguru.page...

My pleasure! My mom had aa 67 Chrysler Town and Country wagon - I learned to drive in it, so cars of this era are very close to my heart. By the way, those are the “deluxe” wheel covers, standard in the Colony Park - the brochure shows the Commuter with dog dish hubcaps.

Regarding tires, check out Hankook Kinergy ST. They have a 1/2-3/4 whitewall. My 67 Buick Sportwagon has 14” Buick Road Wheels with 215/75/14 Hankooks, nice riding tire. On my 68 LTD I run Cooper Cobras with the blackwalls out on Ansen Sprint slotted mags for an old school sinister look. Your car would look very business like with blackwalls. Love your wagon. If you can find an old school radiator shop the generally clean, repair, and seal radiators and gas tanks. If you can’t find one in Florida you could bring then to KANSAS City and go to Orr Radiator. They’ve done several rehabs for me.

Look into adding rear anti sway bar, larger front anti sway bar. Much much better handling on a mountain road.
If you rebuild the front end, put on the parts with grease fittings for the bushings!
You may need to use fuel additives each fill up. That engine may have higher compression that does not enjoy today's fuel.
    Our 1966 390 needed additives.
