I appreciate why we should be doing Brainspotting safely and responsibly, and the benefit of working with a therapist is significantly more beneficial than trying it all ourselves. I can't forget that access to therapy is privileged by societal and personal hurdles, so I love it when powerful, advanced techniques are shared for self-help. I dream of a time when more brain-based techniques are so well understood and ubiquitous that they're integrated into school health class curriculums. I wonder if using Self-Brainspotting to reinforce positive experiences is a technique that could be taught to kids and young adults to improve their self-esteem?

thanks for this video. I am trained in EMDR and I am very curious about learning Brainspotting but can't decide if it's worth doing. I also want to take more advanced trainings for EMDR so it's hard to know which direction to take.

Hey @universoulcoaching6, glad to hear from another practitioner! Gosh it's a toss up. Ive done both and I honestly use both all the time, depending on the client's personality and goals. Some people feel uncomfortable with one or the other, and some want to try both! I even sometimes use a combination of EMDR and BSP with some and it works wonderfully. I will say it is nice to be able to offer different types of trauma processing to people. I feel it can open the box more for individualized healing. Either way you choose, I am glad you're out there helping people heal
