This is incredibly wonderful.. Carsten Peter, the extreme situation photographer, I can't help but admire you . You have shown us crystal caves and volcanoes that no one had ever hoped to ever get a glimpse of before.
Thank you Carsten Peter for your wonderful exploration and images. I am from Vietnam, but after watching this clip, I was like " really ? is this my Vietnam ? ". I think I take my country for granted, and do not bother exploring my own country. I have been to few beautiful places around the world, but non of it could be compared to this one. I guess I need to do things that many foreigners come to Vietnam for: exploring it.
Crazy, man. U're really a fortunate and lucky person, been able to feel that. Just infinite thanks to show me the sensations you experienced there in. I love lighting and the ambience of the shots. I hope to get there once, but your stills may be enough for one life. Caves here are not such big chambers... Keep on going!
Great job done....NG and Carsten. Thanks for bringing this magnificent cave to all of us. So far so good, You and your team hold the record ! Just cross finger and hope that none will break yours ... ;) Cheers, Btw, honestly , GREAT shots you have made once in a lifetime rarely you get a chance to go through such experiences .. i am a bit jealous :) ;)
I play Minecraft, but I was exploring and photographing abandoned mines long before I installed it. Just because You do one, it does not mean the other is automatically excuded.
what does he mean by discovered, he said the cave was discovered in 2009? does that mean the nearest town did not know about this cave for hundreds of years?
Fantastic cave and impressive photos of a challenging lighting environment. But I don't understand why in this video NG presents the cave as their 'discovery'. Why is there no mention of the Vietnamese knowledge and history about these caves?
One owesome place! Unfortunately, the underworld is not visitor friendly. It is dark, slippery, and jerky, among other things. Do not worry about tourists: they do not do caves. They are for explorers and intrepid adventurers. Curious though, any pythons in these caves?
It's unfortunate that beautiful sites get spoiled. However, one should not blame tourists for development. If the locals want to earn money by catering to tourists, who are the outsiders to complain? If one is concerned, pay them money to not build.
@naierer It must have been due to my mispelling on the last letter of the first word. People can be very fickle, my hands are too big for my touchscreen.

Hope to see this in true 1080P HD in the future, but this is good enough! :))
Okay, I was able to email Carsten. In case anyone else wondered, the word he uses is Phytokarst.

OMG. This is cave in VietNam which is biggest in the world. I'm so proud of it because I'm Vietnamese.
Oddly my fascination with a world inside the earth led to me writing a book. This only furthers my fascination. Wow.
Thank you for sharing. I am in awe of what you have seen!

The first time it's mentioned, and he describes it, is at 13:40
The most beautiful, magical place on Earth, i'd say. And this is how our Earth would look like if we didn't mess it up so much.
I play Minecraft, but I was exploring and photographing abandoned mines long before I installed it. Just because You do one, it does not mean the other is automatically excuded.
Great lecture. Does someone know name of the song starting at 0:29?
this adds credibility to the theory
Carsten was recently named Nat Geo's "Photographers' Photographer".

My synapses are toast.
Fantastic cave and impressive photos of a challenging lighting environment. But I don't understand why in this video NG presents the cave as their 'discovery'. Why is there no mention of the Vietnamese knowledge and history about these caves?
Wow! You should take seeds for some nice houseplants that don't need too much light!
Those living rock formations must be the oldest beings!
we don't need books to learn today, WE GOT THIS :D
One owesome place! Unfortunately, the underworld is not visitor friendly. It is dark, slippery, and jerky, among other things. Do not worry about tourists: they do not do caves. They are for explorers and intrepid adventurers. Curious though, any pythons in these caves?
I was actually thinking about the same thing. Don't get why your comment's received so many thumb-downs.
I cannot make out one word he is saying. It sounds like "vital costs". An example is at 17:05. Does anyone know?
A little deeper and they'll find Arnie Sakknassum! This has Jules Verne written all over it
i expected a video documentary..but this was ok.
Miért nem Full HD?

15:24 Looks like a dinosaur head (T-Rex or Velociraptor?) with eyes. lol
1 year ago today
@dagoogler01 16:37 glowstone XD
hopefully no one will find the caves and vandalize it.
What are these people doing in my garden?
It's like Nausicaa is happening right now. Only without the Ohmu...
Man, you said everything...It's nice to see I'm not the only one who deeply loves Nausicaa's world!
Felipe Souto Maior Totally! *high fives!*
You're right, but you can be polite too :)
The Vietnamese used these tunnels to hide from Americans during the war.
This is "Son Đoong" cave. I'm live in Viet Nam
