Wow, what a pain on that door! Turned out great!
Great video Chris, long time subscriber from Australia. Really appreciate the detail that goes into the videos. They've helped me so many times over my pdr life. The trick to those tiguan door plates is the 3 white plastic retainers just below the latch actuator cable. They are a centre pin push through style. Pop those through with a small screwdriver and the regulator will release from the rest of the door latch mechanism. Keep up the great work mate 👍

Those doors! They are a pain to strip but once you’ve sussed it they are ok.
Just to note though if you remove a door handle on one of these, pull the handle out or use a window wedge to hold it open and then unscrew until the cap comes loose, anymore and the horse show clip will fall out and it’s an absolute nightmare to refit it! Super results as always 💪🏻🇬🇧

I crindged when I saw the carrier plate! At first I thought it was riveted in😳 Thankfully not. I see you have to remove the handle and latch just like on the new Ram pickups. Man that is a ton of work but so worth it.
$1500 definitely makes it worth it.

I take door off in 5 mins
Put on stand and get in from underside.
Much quicker than what you are doing.
I do lots of these as this is first place of impact.

I getting ready to fix my own car teenage girl hit my car at Walmart by the time I got to my car her mother was there and switched cars on me the girl did 1647 dollars worth of damage she went down the side of my car but I can see it dented in but not much a long scratch from the front of the back door and the whole driver door that girl must don’t have license 🙄🙄🙄
