@@djcarlomaybe it's due to the preferred BPM range in the software app. As I set from 110 to 210 BPM, the opposite happens to me. I added a track which is 92 BPM and it analyzed it as 184 😂😅
might be a dumb question, because im new to DJing, but how did you get that "fac" loop going even though the tracks volume slider was all the way down?
I’m having trouble understanding how this works here. With your other 3/4 video, we’re doing this: Target BPM * 0.75 = BPM we need to set current song to With this one it’s this: Current BPM * 0.75 = Next Track’s destination BPM I tried this out myself and it isn’t working right. What am I missing here?
@@djcarloright, so even if the dnb track were doubled to 180 (90*2). Your target is 180, so you have to adjust your current BPM to 135, right? In the other example, it's 130.5 to 174. I can't seem to replicate this effect with these BPMs. In this example, the math is reversed, you're multiplying your current 120BPM*075 and changing your next track's BPM instead of changing the current track. Is the loop length itself set to something other than 3/4 of a beat?
Lols, hindsight is 2020. Though, in my ears, it's not a slur (SatisFACtion), but its still something you can't say around young children and conservative parents 🫣
Amazing! I have tried and it works, however could you please explain to me why 120x 3/4 matches 90(180) And also 130.5 x 3/4 matches 174 Not denying, just having a seizure trying to comprehend the second math Btw the second equation is from another video of yours doing the same House to DnB transition, but you already knew that. Thank you for teaching so well and keep going my man
This is slow to fast, but doing it in reverse is possible yes! Using the same 3/4 loop, you can go to what 3/4 of your current bpm is. Like 120 to 90 for example
All controllers only have 2 decks, but many also have 4 channels. Theres a feature that allows you to switch between all 4 channels (as you see with the faders) while mixing
@djcarlo oh i hope traktor kontroler has such a feature. Which reminds me of your way of using que is very efficient. Since using the pads is what makes a big jump gap between a beginner and pro.
Man i do i suck at math lol. Thats the only issue i would have with this transition. I want to try this now but i would probably have to write down the speed on a piece of paper 😂😂😂. I never thought of the loop cutting for beatmatching. Im honestly mind blown. I knew about about mixing stuff that is half the bpm of another track but this changes everything. Way more freedom. Imagine bringing a calculator on set 😂😂😂😂.
Something to do with the way the music interacts with each other. I have a full tutorial up on here if you want to learn more about the technical aspect of it!
It’s 0.75 (or 3/4) of the BPM… because you’re also looping 3/4 of a beat. If you wanted to jump to a BPM that was instead 1/3, you would loop a 1/3 of a beat.

Realistically yes, but thats why I like doing this in an area where there's a pause in the beats as well. Every so often, it'd be nice to jarr your audience so the music doesn't get too predictable or monotonous
ive seen this done to various effects and the crowd always loses their shit and absolutely loves it when the A track starts the 3/4 chop and then absolutely fucking goes bonkers when the drums hit and they realize they're getting a transition into high energy via the break and the dance floor struggles to maintain structural integrity when the bass line drops. as long as it is done as good or better as this shorts example the dance floor is more pleasantly surprised than weirded out.

SMART! Never thought of applying maths to my mixing! Thank you! :D
Right?! Neither did I!
I forgot about the 3/4 loop! 😮 Good one!
Its crazy how the 3/4 parameter actually has purpose! I used to seriously wonder about it
It says 90 bpm but it's actually 180 bpm. I don't know why the software detects only half of the beats in the song.
Yeah, it's actually 180 bpm. But whether it's 90 or 180, you can still do this trick.
Yeah, it's a strange thing with software. Like, beyond 180, it usually reverts back to 90, etc. Just gotta know your songs and double time the BPMs!
@@djcarlomaybe it's due to the preferred BPM range in the software app. As I set from 110 to 210 BPM, the opposite happens to me. I added a track which is 92 BPM and it analyzed it as 184 😂😅
it usually happens with DnB tracks because it doesn’t detect a consistent kick every quarter note
Ok after doing this for 12 years I thought I knew every trick in the book, never thought of the 3/4 loop. This is sick I’m gonna use it

The loop usually stays depending on your settings! In this case, the looper beat FX kept it going

I'm wondering how that computations works, wherein the usual practice was just either multiply or divide it by 2.
It's actually .75 or 3/4! Check out my full tutorial to learn more about this trick 🤩
beginner here, why does the dnb say 89 bpm when dnb is usually alot higher?
It got analyzed at half time. The real BPM is 2x 89 😅
I’m having trouble understanding how this works here.
With your other 3/4 video, we’re doing this:
Target BPM * 0.75 = BPM we need to set current song to
With this one it’s this:
Current BPM * 0.75 = Next Track’s destination BPM
I tried this out myself and it isn’t working right.
What am I missing here?
Actually, the same principle applies but here, the next song isn't double timed. Target BPM is still the same 😅
@@djcarloright, so even if the dnb track were doubled to 180 (90*2).
Your target is 180, so you have to adjust your current BPM to 135, right?

Newbie here! Do the decimal points w/ the BPM not matter? I thought it would go all wack and out of sync with each other if they were exact
They do! Especially with these 3/4 beat mixes. Hence the 130.5
Eh, 7/10 transition
Good enough hahaha
Isn’t dnb at like 170-180 bpm?
Yup! I just forgot to double the BPM in the program
Amazing!
I have tried and it works, however could you please explain to me why
120x 3/4 matches 90(180)

130.5 x 3/4 matches 174

Many DJ programs only analyze BPMs to 140. Any higher, and they usually divide them by 2. Multiplying it by 2 will solve the problem :)
@@djcarlo thank you! So is it personal preference as to what BPM to keep them in? Seems confusing to keep them at 80 given it’s a much faster pace too
