#HardToSwallow #NoMilk #SpyFoxInDryCereal - Ігри
It's all Greek because it's on Acidophilus Island, named for fermented acidophilus milk. It's a dairy joke!
also a ref to Greek yoghurt and Feta cheese
Now that's just...Cheesy.
That's what she said
I straight-up thought they were paying tribute to their "inspiration".
Oh... I thought they were making a butt joke. Assidophilus. Though I guess that's a bit swear-y for this kind of game.
If you're wondering why this one seems more "difficult" than the other Humongous games, each character series is designated for a certain age group:
Putt-Putt is for 3-4 yrs.
Pajama Sam is for 4-6 yrs.
Freddi Fish is for 6-8 yrs.
Spy Fox is for 8 - 10/12 yrs.
so thats why they have so much trouble with it
what about fatty bear?
My favorite is when Arin cry laughs when a joke is way funnier than he was expecting
Debriefing into "good, I need to change my pants" took a minute to click, and the scene transition was so disjointed. It broke me too. 😂
Dan's "punch him in the stomachs" joke going fully under arins radar
I just came to the comments for this xD I laughed out loud to it!
Fully "udder" arin's radar
"I need to change my pants-" *SMASH CUT* 13:17 was sooooo perfect! Arin's hysterical laughter was golden
Fun fact, many of the HE games are different each time you play through them. Freddi Fish 3 has 6 different endings, and the Spy Fox games will have completely different puzzles and gadgets.
When they played Freddi Fish 3, I was yelling at the screen when they didn’t pick up the cork at the beginning. Luckily they ended up with the run where you don’t need it.
There was one spy fox play through I could not figure out as a kid
They usually increase in difficulty so they aren't totally random
As I recall the first Spy Fox has 3 variants. I also think the Happy Hour puzzle, which I think only shows up in one or two variants, is the only one with a random solution.
As a kid who didn't speak English, it was an important puzzle because it forced me to listen closely to the sailor to catch what was being said. The telephone puzzle was much easier since it was just all numbers.
The SpyFox playthrough where you have to go underwater from the boat destroyed me. I beat all the others :(
**Dan furiously typing Monkey Penny cosplay into Google**
Who wouldn't??
Dan: “Now I’m gonna add ‘Monkey Penny cosplay’ into my Google search history…”
I think Monkeypenny is the child of Monkey and Agent Honeydew.
I had to learn if monkey penny r34 exists.
It does.
@@nuuuuuuuutLook, I am not one those people. But...
Where?
I love when they do weird, obscure games like this! I hope they do the Sly Cooper series sometimes
I was just about to suggest Sly Cooper. Such a great game
I'm hoping so too! Childhood favorite of mine
Yes!! Sly would be a great one. 3rd one was my favorite
I thought everyone played this game?
Is Sly weird and obscure now? I remember the series standing shoulder to shoulder with Ratchet, Jax, and Crash back in the day
THIS was my childhood. I know all of these are nostalgic for a lot of people but it's still rad to see them play something that's so personal to me.
Same!
Ditto
Same, I hope they do the ozone one in space too
@@dageekoftheweek I played that one all the time!!! I bought it from steam in 2021 because I missed it so much
SAME it’s all so nostalgic! Legit unlocked several memories for me
They didn’t get the infinite “hey wanna see my tattoo” tattoo 😭
Which I find ironic since Arin Hanson clicks stuff multiple times for different things to happen in other Humongous Entertainment game, why is this one any different? 💢
Sweet!!!
@@Mario583a the grumps have an innate sense that alerts them when recurring bits or habits would actually factor into the game they're playing so they can avoid it. Thats why in every game that has a time limit they drag their feet and in every game that doesn't they try to rush through as fast as they can
@@Penquinn14he may be onto something
Is that an SCP? lol
I think Spy Fox's voice is supposed to be an imitation of Don Adams, who played Agent 86 in the show Get Smart. People too young to have seen Get Smart, though, will know him as the voice of Inspector Gadget.
I love Get Smart, and loved it even more when I learned Mel Brooks was involved with it.
It seems the makers of this game liked Don Knotts & Don Adams A LOT 🤣
And here I thought I was in the minority of catching the voice similarities of both Spy Fox and Mr. Udderly 😅 Get Smart was my childhood thanks to Nick @ Nite, I loved that show!
Anyone remember the Get Smart movie? Yeah the series was way better.
@@PrettyH8Mach1n3 Which one? The Steve Carell remake, the TV reunion movie Get Smart Again, or the theatrical feature The Nude Bomb that acted as a finale to the TV series? Personally, I think The Nude Bomb is a greater triumph than the show. If you haven't seen it, I encourage you do find it and do so. It's one of my favorite comedy movies. Get Smart Again was alright, but it was a TV movie through and through, very low budget. Still worth a watch. The remake is fine, but it could never compare to the original show. It's a James Bond movie with some comedy thrown in, not a surrealistic takedown of the spy genre like the show was.
Release the Hanson cut! I want every second of the Go Fish playing!
You’d have to win Go Fish yourself. And if you lose… well… 😂
14:07 • that “~my whole body’s a weapon~” line delivery was CRAZY--
LOLLLLLL 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
Funnily enough, that line is a direct audio taken from Don Knott’s line delivery from the movie “The Ghost and Mr Chicken”.
This is literally the only line I remember from this game more than 15 years later lol
One day in Girl Scouts we were learning about Greece for some reason and when my leader asked if we knew any fun facts I confidently raised my hand and said the capital of Greece was Acidophilus. This game owes me money for emotional damage.
I can already hear the sound of shattering glass in your soul that is baby’s first public humiliation 😂
Danny having an actual double take when he sees the hot deer lady
If Game Grumps became a Humongous Games, Wheel of Fortune, and golf channel, I wouldn't complain.
frolf ideally
Don’t forget horse game!
and Monopoly!
@@kyoyameganebereznoff Sure thing they'll play some horse games!
As long as they would sill have zelda ,the goul grumps special and the xmas search and find puzzle tradition as well
I love how Monkeypenny's default expression is, "I'm am so done with this s**t..."
I love Spy Fox's brief look of "Oh shit did I almost kill myself?" when Monkeypenny says "Don't put that in your mouth." XD
2:25
Man, you *KNOW* a game is smart when it makes a dairy-centric caper take place on a Greek-sounding island called "Acidophilus"
Ah, true to my experience with the Homongos games. Wandering around completely confused and getting my ass kicked by a child’s game AI
I played all these Humongous games as a kid and somehow NEVER realized until just now that the waltz music on the ship is one of the themes from Pajama Sam!!!!!!!!
Arin: What's with all the Greek stuff?
(flashback, literally 2 min ago)
*"Feta cheese"*
Yea, I'd say that his memory is like that of a goldfish. But I'm entirely certain that goldfish are significantly more capable at remembering details, so yea
SOMEWHERE OVER THE MEDITERRANEAN
literally few seconds ago:
Spy Fox: I just landed on the Greek island of Acidophilus.
I find it wonderful how they will talk over incredibly important Zelda cutscenes, but go mostly silent and reverent when watching cutscenes to these old kid games.
The story in this game deserves more respect than the story in TotK tbh
The story in this game deserves more respect than the story in TotK tbh
Spy Fox: I just landed on a Greek island.
Arin: What's up with all the Greek stuff?
YEY SPY FOX, MY DADDY!!! ...wait don't kis-
Too late for that! You're married! *No Take Backs!*
@@NahyoudontgetthatAW DAMMIT
Wait which episode was "don't kiss"
By the time you say "wait" he has already kissed your dad
Your dad was kissed by arin before he even became your dad- he’s that fast
When I saw the thumbnail for this, I cheered, sprang out of bed, jumped up and down, and ran to my girlfriend to tell her the grumps were doing spy fox. This game was my childhood. I can recite the script of this game in perfect intonation twenty years later. I remember every little joke and gag, even the ones I didn’t get as a kid. I’m about to debut an original composition inspired by the sequel to this game.
Anyway I haven’t watched yet, but I wanted to comment how excited I was that I get to watch now
this is super awesome, i hope you and your gf are doing wonderfully!!!
God I used to get so fucking lost playing this game as a child. Not to mention dan and andy are /not/ kidding when they say that the pig is hard to beat at go fish. My dad used to watch me play this and comment "man, is there like a mirror behind you" because the pig would just /know/ if you pulled a card he needed while going fish. I also distinctly remember the game's ending cutting short too for some reason? Maybe I'll get to see the whole game now.
There is a "true" ending that can be triggered by chasing Kidd's escape blimp via milk truck before he gets too far away.
Dan and Andy
Dan and Andy? You mean Danny and Arnold?
38:50
Dan.... No one knew you meant the deer woman.
You could have played it off so easily as just being about the "fancy" party.
But now we all DEFINITELY know.
🤣 I don't know I think we still would've known!💁♀️
Finally they’re playing Dan’s wet dream and Max Galactica’s nightmare
This game is clearly a bit too difficult and high-brow for the Grumps. Perhaps they'd be more at home with another of those Teletubbies games.
"The name is Fox... Spy Fox"
All the heads in the room slowly turn towards him
Took me 20-something years and a lot of watching TV Land to realize Spy Fox is basically Maxwell Smart.
Get Smart...
He's an amalgamation of 007 and Maxwell Smart, who is himself a parody of 007. It's reference humor all the way down.
Funnily he has a different voice in the UK dub that makes him sound more suave. Like here he's Smart, in England he's Bond.
The voice is so close and I didn't realize until now. No wonder my dad found it funny that I played this.
I loved that Udderly sounds like Don Knotts. I looked up the voice actor and he apparently did a bunch of voices for other Humongous games, and also voices Bowser.
Dan being down bad for the deer woman is both peak Dan and very relatable
Go fish cards really said "10-4 king, 69 a queen" 31:18
At this point, I feel they're just sifting thru this stuff, having let *THAT* golden opportunity escape them
I'd have never noticed that lmao
Fun fact: spy fox is voiced by Bob Zenk in the US, but Andrew Wale on the UK dub of the game. Zenk goes for a Maxwell Smart voice and Wale went for a more suave Bond style voice.
I will never accept any other VA for Spy Fox other than Bob Zenk (because, obviously, I played the American version a lot). He is THE voice for Spy Fox!!
Why bother making a UK dub? It’s not exactly common practice!
@@onemanteam6543 actually it is, especially for shows and games aimed at young audiences. Usually it has to do with any cultural differences or certain pronunciations (zee VS zed) or unintentional slurs/curses between cultures. And it can have an impact on children's accents, similar to how in the US young kids developed a slight British one from watching shows like peppa pig.
@@redkingrauri3769 Huh. Interesting. I doubt it’s that common outside of children’s media though. And I hadn’t heard about the Peppa Pig thing… odd.
@@onemanteam6543 Yeah it happens with incoming things too. League of Super Evil has a Canadian and US dub as did the movie "Doogal". The latter was a mess.
"This episode is 90 percent Go Fish!"
Funny, 90 percent of my memory of this game is Go Fish.
In their defense, the Spy Fox series is probably the hardest Humongous series. I remember being a kid and just struggling the phone number section and just aimlessly wondering around too
I actually got this cd-rom in my cereal box when I was a kid!
Was your cereal dry?
YES YES THIS IS ALL I WANTED, and it's the American dub too so the voices are exactly what I imagine
American dub?
I didn't know there were others
@@Raze_134 for some reason the version on steam is the UK dub, and the voices are... Way off.
I wonder if theyre using the SCUMM emulator
@@SometimesCompitent Its available on steam, and apparently that version comes with ScummVM, so if it's quite likely.
37:21 THIS IS SUPER WEIRD BUT THE SOUND EFFECT OF JUST AFTER THE SPLAT SOUND EFFECT WITH THE PUTTY
IS THE SAME SOUND EFFECT USED WHEN YOU GET HEALTH IN PAPER MARIO TTYD!
YES THANK YOU I RECOGNIZED THAT TOO :D
Oh my god you’re right lol
Fun fact, the Pig is voiced by The Sniper's VA who was not told who he was voicing and was only made aware of the lines to be said
I mean, considering he voiced lines like "whenever you want to play go-fish again, with a go-fish playing pig"... he must have had some notion what he was doing!
Ok but the gamblin pig's voice actor is giving it his 110%? I'm so sold
Wow, there's a hint button, the tried and true method of "test everything on everything and see what works" point and click adventure games is alive and well, and they STILL turn to a strategy guide. "You gotta help us doc, we've tried nothing and we're all out of ideas."
Fun fact! If you’re not enjoying the content, then you don’t have to watch it. You can go enjoy nature, read a book, etc.
It hurts my soul, but I loved the game growing up and need to see the boys struggle.
The pig's voice is the TF2 Sniper.
Wait. For real?
"Sounded like he said S.S. Whatever."
He said the S. S. Winaprize, a pun on the famous Enterprise as accented further by his tale of "going boldly where no raccoon has gone before." XD
I laughed so hard when I saw the character. The voice impression just cemented it.
Do you think Spy Fox is Dan's dream fursona?
We all know he’s a unicorn
15:07 I’m surprised “milky weapon of destruction” slipped by without notice
Keep it up boys! Everything with the Humongous logo requires your attention!!!
Even the Backyard series?
I'd love to see them play some Buzzy the Knowledge Bug games :D
I got this game in a box of cereals as a kid, it's awesome! You can actually play it multiple times with randomly different paths, items and puzzles!
I really hope some day the grumps get a modded version of the game where the protagonist actually does call out Arin Hanson or say something really off colour with no warning.
I manage to pull myself out of bed during a manic depressive episode long enough to throw together a bagged salad and sit down to watch a UA-cam video and I find game grumps is playing the first video game from when I was a freaking baby. I was 5 years old when I played this game and I love it. Thank you so much game gramps. You’re the best game gramps a girl could ask for. Now it’s time to get into my little space
I love that Spy Fox's voice isn't an impression of any James Bond, but instead they went with a Maxwell Smart impression. Beautiful.
I can't believe I thought the idea with the putty was that you could use it to copy three-dimensional objects by making a mold around them.. i completely forgot silly putty can pull ink off of things (Though it makes a negative, so....)
13:00 SCOTT BURNS! Yes! He was Fatty the Bear too, but I know and love him from doing Toadsworth and the Pianta lawyer in Super Mario Sunshine
this game fully shaped my sense of humor and im so glad its getting some love
(also shout out to the dutch voice actor of spy fox, that voice lives rent free in my head, it was so iconic)
interesting note, Spy Fox has similar Mannerisms and Cadence as Inspector Gadget (1983, who was voiced by Don Adams who also played Maxwell Smart from Get Smart). Inspector Gadget Has a niece named Penny and Spy Fox got his orders for "Monkey" Penny, hmmmmm. Yea I think they got a lot of inspiration from and will have references to Inspector Gadget, Get Smart and the like. I wonder how many dan will pick up on.
I think Miss Moneypenny is the reference they were going for. She is James Bond’s boss’s secretary.
8:15
Arin getting lost in a childrens game really is classic Arin
Especially since the game says you can talk to people or call the mobile command center for help.
2:02 Howard Hugh Heifer?? huh. Howard Hughes + Hugh Hefner. ok.
also 24:45 is the voice of John Patrick Lowrie, better known as Sniper TF2
This episodes first “Alright Arin, take it easy” was roughly 55 seconds in lol
Spy Fox Arin freezing the piranha pool thus saving Mr. Udderly from udder death and therefore forcing Mr. Udderly to change his pants turned Arin into more of a laughing cow than a dairy product making company with a similar name.
Am I missing a joke, wasn't it just the abrupt transition to the next scene?
@@BamfIamoneyeah it was the cut off transition
@@BamfIamone It was a pun: debriefing -> change pants.
Was the acting direction for Spy Fox's voice actor "sound like Don Adams but not too much"?
I was just thinking! He sounds like Inspector Gadget!
The Mr. Utterly pencil sharpening scene (13:30) was giving me big "Ren and Stimpy" energy.
Gotta love how Arin relys on a walkthrough for this game designed to be beaten by children.
I like how they point out he's reading the sauce labels for kids who can't read, while in the location representing a bar with an illegal gambling ring in the back
HOLY SHIT they actually played spyfox WHOOOO
The way Dan delivers the line at 26:00 is spot on to how Bigpig delivers those lines, even before hearing it within this playthrough.
This game holds a special place in my heart because recently one of my cousins passed away, and this is the game that he played with us along with pajama Sam and this makes my day seeing this
There's technically one more franchise from Humongous I know of. Their "Backyard ____" series. A series of cutsie sports games, I think there was football (American), baseball, and soccer. (If I remember correctly.) Would love to see them play them. Or I'd settle for Put Put Goes to the Moon.
I think those games got bought up by Atari.
@@gutsmasterson2488 partially true, I won't go into it, as Wikipedia covers everything. Basically it traded hands half a dozen times. But it's not really a matter of who owns them now.
Make sure to never skip dialogue for the secret ending
I cant believe that goat stole all the mommy milkies
I played this as a kid myself. Good ol' times.
38:51 THERE SHE IS! I've wanted Dan to meet Russian Blue since they started playing the Humongous Games!
But he won't see Fox dance with her because this run didn't generate that sequence for Arin 😭
The nostalgia of me playing this when I was 6 or so is insane… by far my favorite unexpected upload.
Waiting for dat Sbassbear mash up of "FETA CHEEEEESE CHEEEESE CHEeeeeeeeese....."
This was the only Spy Fox game I had, but it was easily my most played HE game. Even as a kid, I knew this game was clever. Interested to see how it holds up almost 20 years later
7:58 I thought the speech bubble icon was a sonic loop at first 😂
I fucking loved Spy Fox's Cheese Chases with a burning passion growing up
I only had the demo disk for this, so I never got to see how it ended after he was over the piranha pool. Thank you.
The people who made this were big fans of Get Smart and I love that of them.
The demo I had of this game as a kid ended at 13 minutes into this video on a narrated cliffhanger.
I hope they play detective Barbie: the mystery of the carnival caper
OH, my god I remember playing that game. Such a strange game.
Oh now y'all need to play Sly Cooper 1
Make that all 3 Sly Coopers.

Arin, it's toony animal "Get Smart," what's not to get?
I haven’t watched the episode yet. I saw they played a Spy Fox game and said “heck yes!” And clicked. I’m so stoked right now 😁 I think this one was maybe my second favorite of the series; hoping they play Operation Ozone (think that was the name?) too
Following up to say it’s kinda fun to see them struggle a little while still enjoying the game. I remember struggling sometimes as a kid. These games really asked kids to be patient, be curious, and to persevere. Most of us kids that were the target audience probably didn’t (likely even couldn’t) look up a walkthrough at the time. The logic can be a bit goofy, but I really do feel like these were, indirectly, educational games, teaching soft skills about problem solving and exploring. I felt so accomplished when I figured out a puzzle. I enjoyed many of the educational games from the time, but the Spy Fox games always struck a special blend for me that nothing else quite hit. Cartoony, funny, entertaining, but still mentally engaging.
That’s an insane plugin they made in the game with the “my whole body’s a weapon” line at 14:11. That was a direct audio clip from Don Knott’s line he delivered from The Ghost and Mr Chicken movie. Amazing movie if you’ve never seen it.
Peak Daniel fantasy
DUDE, WHEN I TELL YOU THIS WAS EVERYTHING TO ME AS A KID, I love Spy Fox so much
When I was a kid I deffinitely had a sense that spy fox was harder than the other games. There's even a weird thing near the end where you can miss an entire section of the game if you don't click a thing that only shows up briefly.
Arin; the way he said 'yoink' as he grabbed the frog suit.
Does he also watch the Florida man and his quest to find the 20ft python????
Raccoon boat captain: "C worthy? Not only is this ship C worthy, she's also serving C word."
Dan would totally make that joke 😂
It's so interesting to look back on these games I played as a kid and now I can understand all these references I couldn't before.
Cluefinders 3rd grade. You'll love it
I definitely appreciate seeing this again and getting the classic spy genre references, like Monkeypenny (Moneypenny) & the silly "Get Smart" vibes
In the Grumps' eternal quest to get through every Humongous game ever made, we finally get to Spy Fox, which might be the most cleverly written of all their series.
There's one Humongous series they have played that they would LOVE. They need to play the Backyard Sports series.
42:35
I'm loving the Star Trek references with a sea captain twist
Such a funny Kirk impression 😂
I almost screamed when I saw this, I'm so stoked! I played this game a lot as a kid, the audio wasn't always synced very well and would confuse me but I enjoyed the game lol
They should've made this an hour and a half. I would LOVE to see long, agonizing kids' card games!
I don’t think the villain is fully aware of how much cheese we have in the US. The government has cheese caves dedicated to our 1,400,000,000lbs of cheese our federal government owns. This is not a joke. Google it.
16:11 Bently? Is that you?
