Huh. To be honest I expected things to be a bit better up close. More silicone, proper hex bolts, etc. Overall its definitely a good wheel, and for $3200 from aliexpress id say its worth it. But for 4200 I think its sub standard.

With that price tag waterproofing should be a number 1 priority.
Pedals seem a bit gimmicky , but who knows , might turn out to be a winner.
    More testing needed 😊

Really appreciate you doing the tear downs, especially with someone as knowledgeable as Albert, as it gives us all a better understanding of where our money is going and shows the commitment to transparency. It also allows for a stronger relationship between consumers and the manufacturers, and that is a relationship that benefits everyone.

For me to buy this wheel at that price, I want much better waterproofing with proper quality gaskets around the motherboard and easier tire change. All else looks promising but holding out for more testing. Thanks guys, very informative! Also, I noticed Lucas dyed his mustache in the last video, no way it grew that much in a few days… nice try.

i built an ebike about 15 years ago when everything was DIY. I was never really fond on direct drive hub motors because of how they shaved down the axle flat with the wire coming out of it and bolting it onto a bicycle frame hoping for the best. That was all you had back then. Looking at this, it looks like those days are long gone. Four big bolts directly onto the axle, doesn't look like a mickey mouse job some dude put together while drunk. I like it

Hey Eevee’s, I’m new to EUC. With the high price tag of these EUC its concerning seeing plastic zip ties inside the motors especially when you hear issues with the motors failing. I’m sure there’s a better way of securing the motor wires. Plastic zip ties will eventually get brittle and shatter.

    Thanks guys ✌️
    Very informative.
    The structure is fascinating.
Many parts hanging off other parts, that will be putting a lot of stress on certain bolt points. Also areas already worn from friction, and there were metal flakes from the screw removal.
Hopefully Leaperkim will address the issues in this prototype and nail the final version.
It's by far the most expensive 100v wheel and every part should reflect that in the quality.

Honestly, for that price I expected better quality. There was quite a bit of wear inside even though it has been used only for a couple days.
The water isolation is not great either and it's hard to change tire.
The pedal design isnt well thought either. And no smart BMS neither.
The front handle which was metal in Sherman seems plastic... Which would easily break in case of a crash.

Well, I hope so, but Im skeptical if they really will do work on it.
They might, they might not (hopeful not the later). But even so, it is possible that we get a "fixed" wheel only six months later.

What’s more we don’t measure the torque, we just feel if it’s enough or not. We can measure speed and do that. We never say like “yesterday I made 5 kW on my Abrams”. Ok i see your point. So in theory we could keep our same wheels and just upgrade our mainboards? And the result could be more performance with increases in speed and torque? I feel like the motors Wattage has to become a limiting factor at some point right? I wish i knew more about electronics, sadly i only know whats advertised. So in my head, 3500watts beats 3000W.

@@HumbolSkitso now you’re making some progress in understanding that stuff 😉 one motor can have more power if used with 100 volts battery and mainboard than with 84 volts gear. All known things about the Sherman S motor are: equal numbers of slots and poles to the original Shermans’ motor. So, the only thing that differs - is mainboard. They could use slightly more wires in phase windings, but there is really small room for improvements if basic configuration is the same. We can mark an electric motor as one with bigger power if we just improve its cooling. You can see how side covers of the new motor look like. They can deliver a bit more heat outside the motor with their edges in comparison with old ones. So we have almost the same motor with new mainboard with higher phase current limit. And new number of kilowatts. Testers say that the torque is great. Ok, I can see bigger phase current from mosfets to the motor in that statements. To the same old motor, you know🙂

like a good-cop, bad-cop routine... one guy trumps how good the wheel is followed by the other guy who says, well not really.

Well done boys but shame about the wheel... Too convoluted over engineered better luck next time
