I'm so glad to see this beauty go to a good home! These are becoming legendary and are still affordable if you really look for them. Take care bro. Instant subscriber! Hope to catch more videos in the future!
I've got a '96 SR5 V6, 5 SPD, W/ rear locker too. Got 144k miles, same club as you, but I'm still 100% outside of 2022 4Runner wheels. But I'm in the Salt Belt, so we got a lil rocker panel acne...lol. you've got a nice looking rig!
I had the chance to buy a factory 5 speed e locker 3rd gen a few years back, and ending up passing on it because I already had another 3rd gen and an early 5th gen Trail Edition (kind of rare.) Kinda wish I had gotten it just for the cool factor. Still have the 5th gen, and the 3rd gen has 336k miles on it now, original engine and transmission.
I just picked up a 2000 a week ago, same config as yours but without the sunroof. Does yours have cruise control? Got mine non-running and it has been sitting since 2018 and needs some serious love, but it's one owner and won't be too hard to bring back to glory! Your truck is absolutely beautiful and I hope to get mine to that state soon!
I am looking for a 4Runner as a daily and light over landing / off roading. Which model and YearS do you suggest. Also when I start looking. What are the top issues to look for
I'm a big fan of 3rd gens (1996-2002) or a 5th gen (2012-2024) honestly they both have very little issues and are rock solid. I would go with 5th gen unless you can find manual 3rd gen
We have 00 limited with the e locker which I’ve also heard are pretty rare I’ve noticed that most 00 4Runners with the e locker are black I wonder if Toyota only added them to specific colors making the costumer choose that color if they wanted the feature I’m planning on painting it on the jade mica green color in the future
I like the fender flare gasket/seal you put on it. I’m definitely gonna do that to mine when I paint the fender flares, and hopefully roof rack too. I can see you have a good attention to detail on the little things, and definitely did some research on the vehicle. Speaking random parts to put on these, you ever look into the jdm/euro spoiler/wing? When paint matched properly it looks really cool I think. But I think you have a near perfect setup on this truck. Almost a little too perfect haha. It’s so nice I almost wouldnt wanna drive it. Also wish I went with the pizza cutter 33s over the 265/75s but too late now lol.
Thanks I really appreciate it, I actually went way overboard with attention to detail on this truck but that's just my nature. The stance is perfect on it and it drives great. Obviously I started with a blank canvas vs a painted one so that makes things easier. Ya I have but actually neither my landcruiser nor 4Runner has a factory spoiler which I find pretty unique!
Would be interested in your extra set of fender flares, and learning more about your process for the mod. I have a 02 4wd sr5 myself, in blue pearl 😁 Excellent rig, truly a unicorn. Thanks for sharing.
Had a '97 5sp 4cy 4wd put well over 300k it was fantastic 21-22mpg. put 200k on the 1st clutch! 120k on a set of brakes. Is that the dog off of planes, trains and automobiles?
That is an amazing build! I bought a brand new 2000 Limited in platinum silver and it came with those exact wheels. I bought it brand new and put 75K on it. Only 1 warranty repair. The center armrest cracked and was making a clicking noise. Which they repaired under warranty. I only replaced the tires and brake pads once. I regret trading that car in. I think I would still be driving it. I still see them on the road all the time . I now have a 2022 TRD Off Road and when I picked it up an old gentleman traded in a 1991 manual 4Runner. 918K miles on it. He drove it in. I was in shock. He was picking up a 2022 4Runner.
I have least 1 01 sr5 4x auto coming up soon for sale, my son's. Great condition frame, underside, runs, drives and shifts perfectly just needs a little bit of body above rear drivers rear wheel well / upper wheel arch towards back and a rear bumper corner chrome or 2 for the back bumper was already replaced couple years ago. South Central PA area. Then I'll likely let my 99 sr5 4x auto go, body is overall pretty mint, frame has had some repairs not horrible though. Comes with replacement passenger front door need paint matched / installed from a crazy deer. Shifts fine however been chasing a rear 02 prob and lean code almost have it best but probably time for a motor swap. Needs oil pan dropped and re sealed etc, interior is very good, power sunroof works great unlike my son's 01 we sealed it closed. Same anyway south central PA area Marketplace guys if you're interested. Mercersburg PA area Marketplace search would find them when I get them listed, like I said 01 will be soon for sure then probably my 99. Both are silver or grey color tone btw. ✌️
My 97 limited has 305k miles and it’s still running strong… I love these vehicles
They are incredible
What site are you considering selling this at? If so what price range were you thinking? Just asking... Thank you!
Preferably private sale but if not then BAT, and I'd expect it to be around 30-35k
Awsome ride man. Appreciate you serving our country. Awsome your keeping these yotas on the road!
Thank you so much!
The 5 star wheels went all the way thru ‘02. My mom bought an ‘02 SR5 new off the showroom floor & it had the 5 stars

Absolutely! I might sell it because I'm moving!
All the best to you and your work on this gorgeous truck.
Great video. Thanks for posting up! If you ever do decide to sell this beauty, put me on the top of the list sir!
Hahah I've actually been debating selling
Bring it on!! I am in NC. Looks like you are in FL but could be wrong. Keep me posted if you are serious...@@GarboOffroad

HOLY GRAIL.. Congratulations..

Beautiful truck. Would you happen to have the part number for the fender flare gasket? Thanks
Whats your current daily driver? Great taste sir

The 255/85/16s are awesome, I have a set of the Falken MT01s on my 99 Limited with a Bilstien/OME lift and SPC uppers. Averages 18-19Mpg.
I love these tires, I'm sitting right around the same mpg

Absolutely, I'll make a separate video on how to restore them
Hi. Do you still have the stock suspension parts for the 80 for sale? I’m in the Facebook group and I saw your post.
I have a ‘99 SR5 5-speed 4x4 with locker with a supercharger and sport hood, 2.5” OME lift.
Give me your sport hood
I got a 2000 lifted 5 inches on 33s with 290k miles runs like new ! No lights on the dash ! This is worth 20k all day long
What’s the mileage on the beauty? Sorry if I missed it in the video.
80,000!
Should’ve showed the engine usually manual 5 speed versions of these are the 4 cylinder engines so this is rare being a V6😎👍
Okay ya it's a 5VZ absolutely great engine
Do you have a list of items for the lift. The Stance is perfect.
Yes it's the Dobinsons 2.5 inch IMS lift!
@@GarboOffroad Thanks.
Sick rig, brother. What paint did u use for the fender flares. I have a 97 sr5 .
It's called SEM, it's highly rated and I couldn't be happier with how it turned out
How much do you want for it? I will use it in Sahara Africa. Thanks for sharing
