Outstanding video, I really appreciate how clear and concise your instructions were, and how you spoke slowly enough. Some people don’t realize that it’s much easier to absorb instructions when they are spoken clearly and slowly, especially if it’s something that you haven’t done before! 😂 Great camera work too, everything was very easily seen. Hopefully I’ll be able to save up enough for this conversion, thank you! 🙏💪🙌
Beautiful truck! 3rd and 5th gen are said to be the best generations. I love the 3rd gen. I have 99 4WD limited w/ E locker. Bought the truck with the Caliper upgrade. It’s squeaking and a little spongy, not sure if that’s normal. Going to rebuild the calipers, or I may just have my mechanic do it. Yours is super clean. Ok thanks for the vid
Thank You for a straight to the point DIY Video 👍💯👍💯. I too have done the tundra upgrade LBJ (oem) using drilled & slotted rotors. No better satisfaction than doing these upgrade myself 💪👍Yazmin..Venice Beach CA ⛱️ Keep Up The Great Work
Great DIY!,In fact I almost bought 2001 3rd gen 4Runner but my wife don’t like the riding comport end up buying 1st gen Toyota Highlander. Now I got the 2021 5th gen T4R ORP love it . Just installed Dr.KDSS pan hard bar alignment kit ,you’re video helped me a lot doing DIY ( save money for having mechanic installed it)..
OverlandEd, I am preparing to do the 13WL upgrade for my '00 v6 4runner and have two questions so far: 1. Have you had any ABS issues with the 13WL upgrade? (There is some scuttlebutt on forums about this so considering 13WE instead) 2. I will upgrade the soft lines to stainless steel and the vendor asked if I wanted to bypass the caliper side hard line with a longer flexible line. Would you do this? Once again, thank you so much for your videos and advice!
What year/make/model did you use for the steel brake tubes from the caliper to the brake hose/line bracket ? I’m doing the tundra brake upgrade on my 1999 Runner using the 13WL caliper and my stock brake tubes from the caliper are too long and extend beyond the hose caliper on the knuckle neck by abut 1/2” or less, even with slight bending/manipulation I can’t line up the flange on the tube to the hose…. Thx !!
Huh. I went with the OEM hard lines from Toyota for my 98 and the worked just fine. The only reason I replaced them was because the twisted on me when I took them off the old calipers.
@@theoverlanded ok kool, yeah, I’m not sure why my originals didn’t work with the new calipers…. Still workin on it though!! Thanks for the reply! Nice rig too btw!!
Will this same work for 2014 camry Se sports? It has 18inch wheels-225/45/18. I saw some videos which can fit highlander brakes to camry but highland calipers are dual piston and tundra was 4 piston
Man said “its time to give her some love” lmao with sparkling 98 behind him on nice sets of shoes and some nice custom everything
Certainly does not appear that you have neglected her. One of the best looking 4RUNNERS I’ve seen!
I know, the work is never done
Thank you for the great comment!

I wish my 97 limited looked like that, very nice 4runner and thank you for making this video.

nice. I did the powerstop tundra kit on my 1st gen Tacoma and it was a huge improvement.

Very nice install video. This is on my project list.
Insanely Clean. Well done sir. Wow.
The M Clips that return the brake pads away from rotor after brake release. Your suppose to have 2 m Clips for each caliper
Liked and subscribed! Thank you for including the torque specs ad well.
With the tundra brake upgrade do the 16 inch wheels still fit or do you have to go to 17 inch wheels ?
VR is Vehicle Right just different terminology vs FR Front right

Hi Ed, thanks for the video. Are the Rotors a set of 2? The Amazon link does not say if its a pair or single rotor.
What coilovers are you using on the front noticed you got red Springs and there adjustable?
They are ToyTec. Yes, they are adjustable.
@@theoverlanded aww okay thought the looked familiar
Beautiful 4Runner! What roof rack is that? Is it mounted on something other than the factory rack?
It’s from a company called WMI that went out of business awhile ago. It mounts to the factory rack mounts. Thanks for watching!
why are you torquing the calipers down when you dot have pads or brake lines connected? You're doing the work twice
Where did you get the stainless steel brake lines? I will be dping this upgrade to my 2002 SR5 2wd. Love the idea of stainless steel brake lines.

You put the holding pins backwards. They are too close to the rotors
Are those rotors thicker or is it the 307mm vs 277mm ?

Sorry. No idea.
Are those Calipers for 17" Wheels? Do they fit on 16" wheels?
My wheels are 17”. You’ll have to do the research for your specific wheels.
hello! what brand is that hitch tire carrier?
The tire carrier is Detours of Maine. Not sure if they are still in business though…
@@theoverlanded appreciate the reply!! great looking truck!
